Looking great jeremysgirl ! And seaexplore so much great stuff. And LOVE the quilting clapper. He should sell them! Took him ALLLL day. LOL Is there really a demand for them? The coolest part is that it was all from scrap wood. Not sure. I had been looking for one at one time, and saw many on etsy. Not sure how fast they sell. And yes, that is very cool it's from scrap wood!

kellyr21, you do look so happy and that makes other people smile, too. You're very pretty. jeremysgirl, that blanket is going to look AMAZING, because it already does. I love fun, holiday themed crafts.

I'm about to start the second sleeve of my cardigan and I'm pretty certain I don't have enough yarn. I stupidly misread the pattern and thought it said 800 metres of yarn when in fact it says 800 grams of yarn I have no way of getting any more either.

Could you unravel the sleeve you have done already and pick up a contrasting color that you could do the tops of the sleeves in and the lower part in the body color? Or a stripe even? I think that may be a way to salvage your sweater and add visual interest.

Well bum, can you make half sleeves? like a deep rib detail at the shoulder.

I have just finished this little set for my niece’s baby, who was born just a week ago. I hope to get it in the mail this week.

Personally, I'd wait till it was put together. Do you really need to block it? You might not. Thank you and I have no idea about whether it actually needs to be blocked. I've been blocking everything else I've made, so I assumed I should do so with the cardi as well. I knitted loads of garments in my younger days and never blocked any of them. I don't think blocking was even a consideration back then! I'd only block if for some reason the edges don't match where you want them to be together. Unless it's a lacy design in which case I might block to open up the pattern.

Is it the Aldi yarn from a while ago? Is it worth dropping them a line to see if there is any anywhere? Long shots sometimes work. I find Ravelry difficult to navigate but am I correct in thinking people say on there what yarn is in their stash? Could you find a match there and ask if they'd be willing to sell? How about turning your cardigan into a waistcoat or short sleeved cardi or get a toning/contrasting yarn and do the sleeves a pattern of the two with the button band in the contrast? Maybe add some similar pockets or some sort of motif on the fronts to tie it all together?

I've had the yarn for about two years now, I've looked on Ravelry but no one is selling it. It's on the naughty step while I think about my options.

Non-crafter here who always checks this thread to see the great projects y'all make. I had no idea what a quilting clapper was so my friend Google explained it to me. Neat!

Thank you seaexplore. I use them as journals mostly. The pages are hand sewn in using a pamphlet stitch. I am going to try and do a video of this one when I am done with it.

We have a big second hand craft store in town and it is really hit or miss. Today was a hit. Four NIP Silhouette mats for $2 each. Attachments:

I'm hoping a crochet pro can help me out. A friend gave me three balls of Bernat Handicrafter 100% cotton yarn and I am not sure what to make with it. I've searched patterns but they are for dishcloths and I am not interested in making those. It is a worsted weight so I am wondering if I can make a shawl or light blanket with a pattern calling for worsted weight yarn. This is a picture of the yarn just to make sure I have my details right.

If you not familiar with it, it's a knitting and crochet site that has thousands of patterns, free and paid for. You can filter results to e.g. Crochet, dk, yardage etc. You can even search for that brand of yarn and see what others have used it for. It's a great resource and brilliant for inspiration. Here's a shawl idea, I just ticked, crochet dk, up to 600 yards and got quite a few pages of results, this was one of them www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/beginner-one-skein-shawl
