We just watched it. The jury is still out for us. Some of the story line is compelling but having her be pretty much a slut at night just seems like such a cliche. Also, like so many shows, the dialog is so fast, we often have to rewind and listen again. We'll give it another episode or 2 then decide. Anyone else?

Yeah, I watched it.
It's not nearly as horrible as I thought it would be from the reviews. Agree with you on the cliche.
I don't think anyone would wear heels like that to that job at 2 in the morning. Sure, maybe she changes into them before going to the white house, but no. No stilettos to go running from floor to floor.
How she "lost" that security guard tailing her? Then climbed on the outbound truck? Whatever.
That line in the cemetery from Alfre Woodward about how she doesn't want to hear from the CIA analyst but from the woman who was supposed to give her grandchildren? I think I threw up in my mouth a little.
And listen, if I came home and my front door was open AND my gun was missing, I'm calling the cops, not going in further.

I'll give it a few more episodes before I decide if I'm going to continue to watch. I do think it has potential though.

I heard it from the same guy that does the Blacklist...so I am willing to give it a try. I watched the first episode and the jury is still out. I can see where it could go either way.

Jury's still out, here too. I like the premise, but I'm afraid I'll get lost in the dialogue cadoodlebug. I watch it live, so rewinding is not an option. Maybe I will stop watching it live, so rewinding OnDemand will be easier. I don't have the best TV, so reading her text messages is proving to be a big pain in the ass for me. If they plan on making this part of the show, I'll be out based on that alone. I'm definitely giving it my cursory 3 episodes before I make my decision.

tiffanytwisted I had trouble reading the texts also. I didn't have a pair of glasses handy and felt like a jack in the box while trying to get close enough to read them.

I knew by the time I jumped off my bed they'd be gone and I wasn't about to spend an hour standing in front of the TV. Hopefully this won't be a regular thing.

Funny you talk about the text messages. I get the whole blue/green thing, but for TV they need to be black text in a white box so they can be read. That really bugged me. The jury is till out for me as well. I'll give it a few tries, but not sure this one will make it. Some of the context is pretty complicated - I'm not really well versed on the conflicts in the Middle East.

Katherine's character too emotional for her position--at least in the first episode. A cute blond curly ponytail and heels? Not! President too emotional for her position-at least in the first episode. No secret service at cemetery? At least give the hint of one or two. Make it more realistic. The rest of the characters are fairly predictable and boring.
Maybe the first few episodes of Scandal spoiled me for a starter storyline.

I'll watch until I lose interest. I completely missed the twist at the end? Couldn't understand exactly what she said. I stopped watching How To Get Away With Murder after the third or fourth episode so we'll see if this one can hold my attention longer. I can always go back and have a marathon watch once the series goes on break to catch up.

The jury is still out with me. I think, though, that it's trying to be sort of like homeland and not making it. We will have to see.

Part of my trouble is I have a hard time taking Katherine Hiegl seriously after all her dumb movies. If they didn't add in the nighttime sleaze and stupid jumping on the back of the truck. I might have liked it a lot more.

The jury is one its way out for me. I might give it another shot but I found the show completely ... lacking in any credibility. I really cannot imagine that the CIA would permit a senior analyst, one in charge of the daily briefing book, the nightly "exposure" that was shown here -- and hauling strange men to her home is too far fetched. I really doubt that any Washington inside has an entire other wardrobe in their office -- she went to work at 2 AM, changed into a dress for the briefing (which in other works happens early each morning), into another dress for the funeral, then was back hustling in the bar that evening. How is it that the director gets stopped by what purports to be Secret Service and no one checks? The office staff helping Izzy "escape" and get info once she was dismissed and AFTER the director leaves the office show up in the POTUS office with the director. That isn't all inclusive, but enough for the staging and plot points. My biggest issue, I guess, is Katherine Heigle. I liked Izzy in Gray's Anatomy; the actress' leave taking was unfortunate; some of her other shows were ... okay, but generally not my choice of a movie. But for this sort of role, I think she lacks the gravitas to be taken seriously -- then to have one of the first scenes taking off her clothes .... I'm willing to work with a movie and usually enter into the "willing suspension of disbelief" that fiction sometimes requires ... but common' .... I expect some semblance of credibility from the movie as well. So far --- this is stupidly incredible. And if Black List was moved to February ONLY to make a place for this aberration, then I'm going to be really unhappy with the network!!

I haven't watched this one, and probably won't. However, we watch pretty much everything that isn't live streaming with closed captioning on. It definitely helps keeping up with dialogue.

I kind of liked it. I'm a huge fan of Scandal and Revenge and other shows like that, who tend to stretch your thinking, so I don't mind. I really don't put much thought into the legitimacy of what's going on if I'm caught up in the story. I will say it felt a lot more exciting to watch than, say, Madam Secretary, but her storylines are more about policy and not what's actually going on in the situations.
I also don't mind how she acts. She's grieving. Some people deal that way. It seems to me that maybe she may be feeling guilty as well....so that plays into it.
I'll keep watching to see what happens.
