Absolutely nothing! I am 7 miles from the nearest gas station and 15 miles from the nearest grocery store.

Our home sits between the two city pools and is four blocks from the high school. It's a half mile from the city bike path and skate park. It's a few blocks from many restaurants (job opportunities for my teens who don't drive yet), a mile from my mom's, a few blocks from the library and the farmer's market, and about a half mile from the heart of the city where everything is hosted - fireworks, festivals, parades, etc.
We moved to this suburb about five years ago, when my boys were starting middle school. I chose it specifically so they would have things to do while I'm at work.
One son runs the neighborhood on his bike and scooter with friends. Constantly. The other one, not as much. I walk to the bigger (crowded) events but usually not elsewhere because I'm doing several things at once.

I can walk to a shopping center, my bank, the library, my primary doctor and, best of all, my mechanic for when the car has troubles!🚙😃👍

I drive everywhere.
I get people want to walk to do their errands but where we live there is a lot of traffic and its spotty whether or not there is sidewalks. (The sidewalks are inconsistent by block). The walkers are dodging traffic, walk out in traffic or don't use what crosswalks we do have to cross.
The bicyclists make me even more nervous, especially the ones with the kids in the cart pulled by the bike.

We are in the suburbs. There's a small community park about half a mile from my house with a .33 mile paved walking trail. I go there a lot, especially to walk the dog. In the other direction is a large park with a nature center and very long, windy unpaved trails and beautiful bridges, streams, the whole deal. I've been there just a few times, mostly because dogs are not allowed and I'm too allergic to much of the "nature" along the trails. I also don't do uneven trails well with my feet. It's a beautiful area, though. My youngest daughter had her senior photos done there. They recently opened a 24-hour gym and dentist's office about half a mile away, but I have no reason to walk to those. If I'm more ambitious, I could walk to a Walmart and Aldi 1.5 miles away, but then I'd have to carry stuff home. There are a bunch of other businesses in that area, but again...carrying it home.

We live in the 'burbs so no businesses really close by to walk to, but oldest daughter and her family live in Pittsford, New York and I ADORE that they can walk to the village, walk along the Erie Canal, walk to get coffee, the post office, cute little shops....

Nothing. I'm in the rural suburbs and the closest stores are about 3 miles away, but the roads are not pedestrian friendly. I technically can ride my bike into our small community where there are gas stations, a couple of restaurants, the bike shop, etc. but to do it safely I have to go in the opposite direction first, down some back roads, and through some bushes to cut through a gated neighborhood, and even then there's a 1/4 mile stretch that's not really safe because of traffic.

I live in a city centre and can walk everywhere I need for daily life. Grocery stores, bakeries, doctors, pharmacies, several small cinemas, the city opera, several museums, parks, post office, work, etc. I don't have a car for a reason.

I live less than 4 miles from downtown. My residential neighborhood was its own village until incorporated into the city over 100 years ago. In 2 miles or less I can walk to restaurants, major hospital, bars, two city parks, golf course, university, Target, 2 libraries, Walgreens, CVS, 3 grocery stores, fast food, 3 stand alone Starbucks, post office. We moved here from Texas, about 60 miles northeast of Dallas. I refused to live in the suburbs when we moved here. I was over driving after Dallas and my stupid commute to work.

The post office.
Also an elementary school, but I don't have kids that young. And a church I don't go to. A small convenience store attached to the PO. And the city office. Those are the non-private home buildings in my town. All within easy walking distance from my house. Sometimes I walk, sometimes I drive.
Everything else is a significant drive away.

We have a few things close - a pizza and a Mexican place neither of which I like there is a new boba and tea house in the same center but it’s had mixed reviews. Just a bit further is a local coffee place we like snd we have walked there several times - there is also a Pizza Hut, CVS, Ralph’s, Carl’s Jr. and subway. Everything else is a bit too far and not sure of the sidewalk situation further down by the other places I don’t think they have sidewalks all the way there.
Where I grew up there were several things I used to walk to which was nice - yogurt shop, donut shop (little hole in the wall), 31 Flavors snd further a Ralph’s and later Target snd I could walk to the mall if I was really motivated. Going the other directions we could walk to our down town - cute little village type stores.
We are on a canyon and have hiking trails behind our house. We have used those but not lately.

I live in a semi-rural area and if health problems didn't prevent it I could walk about a half mile to a small country market, a quarter mile to our local pub that also serves food, and those same distances to a couple of churches which don't happen to be our denomination. All of these are along a well-traveled state highway with no sidewalks.

I can walk to anything (coffee shops, gym, grocery, entertainment, retail). I have to drive mostly because I have kids, and it is hard to grocery shop for eight on foot or walk a five-year-old a half-hour to the library up a hill. But I do walk a lot to things by myself.

I wish I could walk to the grocery store and library. We are a mile from the elementary school, there is a walking park about 1/2 mile and a gas station/ convenience store a few blocks away. Don't go there much but could get gum or beef Jerky?

I live in an English market town. I can walk to every type of shop, doctors, bank, pharmacy, cafes, restaurants, pubs, library, school (but I don’t have kids). I’m also within walking distance of 2 rivers, a cricket club, swimming pool, parks and The Lake District. It’s just a shame I can’t walk to these places at the minute because I damaged my knee!

Thanks for asking. I’m getting there! My knee is still a bit sore but I’ve probably got 90% movement back in it. I’m off the crutches and now trying to get my strength back. It’s scary how quickly muscles waste away! I’ve just ordered myself an exercise bike, so hopefully I’ll be walking by that river soon! The thought of walking by that river got me through winter lockdown and the extremely long house selling/buying process and I’ve still not done it yet!

I grew up in a suburb of Boston. I could walk everywhere and usually did. I now live in a town with no sidewalks and 1 street light (we're getting our second and very excited about it ) so I have to drive everywhere.

I can walk to our small downtown area including restaurants, coffee shop, bank, library, Dunkin, 7-11, and most importantly, the train station to the city (Chicago). Can also walk to several gas stations, Starbucks. There's a Target 3 miles away, which would be a long walk, but doable.
I do walk to the restaurants and train regularly.

We live in the suburbs and have to drive everywhere and I can't wait to get back to a walkable neighborhood. Retirement dreams.
I'm staying with DD in her new apartment right now and love that everything we need is in walking distance. She is having a hard time giving up the CA car culture but is slowly adjusting and has completely embraced the local bike share program.
