Isn't illegal for a lawyer to knowingly lie before the court? There is an audio of the judge in the article. Lawyers for former President Donald Trump filed a legal brief this Tuesday falsely claiming that the FBI and the Senate have cleared him of wrongdoing in regards to the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.The attorneys say that Trump did nothing wrong by falsely claiming two separate investigations came to that conclusion. Notwithstanding their allegations and insinuations of conspiracy," the legal brief says of the bipartisan special committee, "investigations by the FBI and the Senate Committee on Government Affairs and Homeland Security rebuff their contentions of wrongdoing by Trump Administration officials."While the lawyers presented their argument to Judge Tanya S. Chutkan on Thursday, her response indicated that she wasn't buying their argument. "What's your basis for that assertion?" she asked Trump's lawyers. "Just a published article," one of the lawyers said, "from Reuters ... quoting the FBI..."
"You cite an article ..." Chutkan began before chuckling in apparent disbelief. "I mean, that's your only support for that statement?"www.rawstory.com/judge-laughs-at-trumps-attorney/

Former Asst AG Jeffrey Clark is scheduled to appear tomorrow in front of the Jan 6th House Select Committee!! Former Assistant Attorney General for the Environment and Natural Resources Division Jeffrey Clark, a key figure in former President Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election, is reportedly meeting with the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th Capitol riots. According to CNN's Zachary Cohen, Clark "is expected to appear tomorrow for an interview with the January 6th Select Committee," where he is expected to be interviewed about his efforts to keep Trump in the White House despite losing decisively to President Joe Biden last year. Clark is talking with the committee even though Trump has directly instructed former administration officials to ignore any subpoenas that come from the House select committee investigating the January 6th Capitol riots. The committee subpoenaed Clark last month on the grounds that he was "reportedly involved in efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election and interrupt the peaceful transfer of power." The subpoena went on to say that it was seeking "deposition testimony and records from Mr. Clark as part of the Select Committee's investigation into the events of January 6th and the causes of that day's violence." www.rawstory.com/jeffrey-clark-capitol-riot-2655496868/

More info gathered by committee, interviewing Jan 6th rioters!! Committee interviews Jan. 6 rioter who witnessed state GOP contacts with Trump alliesInvestigators are trying to connect the dots between protesters who broke into the Capitol and whether they coordinated with Republican officials. By KYLE CHENEY 11/04/2021 05:10 PM EDT Congressional investigators probing the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol are examining the contacts between one of the rioters who breached the Capitol and state-level GOP officials who worked with former President Donald Trump as he attempted to overturn the 2020 election. The rioter, who interviewed with the committee twice in the past week, described knowledge of contacts between GOP officials in a key state Trump lost and allies of the former president in the weeks leading up to the Jan. 6 attack. The person interviewed was one of the 650-plus defendants charged in the attack, and discussed those contacts in a voluntary interview with congressional investigators. A source familiar with the previously unreported interviews said committee investigators asked the defendant to return for a second interview after discussing details about these pre-Jan. 6 interactions. Questions from investigators ranged from the defendant’s knowledge of those who organized travel to Washington for the Jan. 6 event as well as details about the preparation of legal affidavits in support of Trump’s false claims of voter fraud. POLITICO has agreed not to identify the defendant or state, out of the defendant’s fear of retaliation. Still, it’s a sign that the Jan. 6 committee is obtaining facts about Trump’s activities from unexpected sources: The defendants who breached the Capitol in his name. More than 100 Capitol riot defendants have pleaded guilty for their roles in the attack, most to misdemeanor crimes. The Jan. 6 select committee began soliciting voluntary testimony last month from these rioters . That request appears to have begun bearing fruit. At least three convicted rioters have cooperated or signaled their intent to speak to the committee, including Leonard Gruppo, who provided testimony on Oct. 12, according to court records. And more may be coming: Judge Beryl Howell, chief of the district court of Washington D.C., recently credited Gruppo during his sentencing for cooperating with Congress. *** "He gave them specifics about why he went to Washington, what he did and all the events of that day,” Lindsey said. “Mr. Gruppo is a great man and it was an honor to represent him. Even the greatest of us make mistakes. Former President Trump has left chaos, damage and heart ache in his wake and he has shown no responsibility for all the lies.” www.politico.com/news/2021/11/04/january-6-committee-rioter-interview-519580

Clark appeared in a closed session. Only two hours+. He was accompanied by a lawyer who worked with Sidney Powell in the Georgia election mess..... Former Assistant Attorney General for the Environment and Natural Resources Division Jeffrey Clark, a key figure in former President Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election, testified before the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th Capitol riots on Friday. And, as Politico reports, he did not come by himself. According to the publication, Clark arrived for his testimony alongside Harry MacDougald, a Georgia-based attorney who teamed up with "kraken" lawyer Sidney Powell in her failed quest to overturn the election results in the Peach State."CBS's Ellis Kim tweeted a picture of Clark and MacDougald departing a congressional office building after the deposition," writes Politico. "It's unclear if Clark answered the committee's questions while he was behind closed doors, though he appears to have been with the panel for less than two hours — a fairly short appearance. A spokesman for the select committee declined to comment." Clark is talking with the committee even though Trump has directly instructed former administration officials to ignore any subpoenas that come from the House select committee investigating the January 6th Capitol riots. www.rawstory.com/jeffrey-clark-capitol-riot-2655505388/

So much for Clark testifying... He did NOT! Jeffrey Clark refused to answer questions during Capitol riot testimony -- and contempt charges 'on the table' Brad Reed November 05, 2021 Politico reports that Clark cited attorney-client privileges and former President Donald Trump's assertions of executive privilege as justifications for refusing to answer the committee's questions. However, as Politico notes, "any such privilege lies with the client to assert, and even if Trump were Clark's client under these circumstances, the former president has already declined to block Clark's testimony."Select Committee Chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) tells Politico's Kyle Cheney that criminal contempt charges against Clark are "on the table" after his refusal to cooperate. The House of Representatives last month referred criminal contempt charges against Trump ally Steve Bannon after he completely refused to comply with its subpoena. www.rawstory.com/jeffrey-clark-capitol-riot-2655506122/@zingermack

Pence's staff 'very angry' with Trump over MAGA riot and want to talk with House Select Committee: reporter Brad Reed November 10, 2021 CNN reporter Jamie Gangel revealed on Wednesday that the staff of former Vice President Mike Pence is willing to cooperate with the January 6th House Select Committee in part because of residual anger over what former President Donald Trump put their boss through during the Capitol riots. While talking with host Anderson Cooper, Gangel added some more details to an earlier CNN report about the House Select Committee reaching out to Pence staffers. "We've heard from the beginning that pence staffers were very angry, both in the lead-up to January 6th and that day," she said. "And that, certainly, I think, is playing a role into how and why they're engaging with the committee." Gangel went on to say that the Pence staffers "have texts, e-mails, other documents that could be of interest" that could be of interest to the committee's work. She also highlighted a tweet sent out from Pence's official account on January 6th after the Capitol had been secured in which the then-vice president thanked the Capitol police for their work, which she said was Pence staffers' way of telling off Trump. "I think it is fair to say the staff, who were very angry, put that out as a clear statement that while President Trump was watching the insurrection on TV, while people were calling for 'Hang Mike Pence,' that the former vice president was thanking the police for protecting him and the country," she said. youtu.be/-A--Yy6I2JQwww.rawstory.com/mike-pence-capitol-riot-committee/Pence's staff 'very angry' with Trump over riot and are eager to talk with House Select Committee youtu.be/-A--Yy6I2JQ

Maybe soon some will start appearing, or will Meadows change his mind... Former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows this week said that he will not cooperate with the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th Capitol riots until the courts resolve issues surrounding executive privilege. CNN reports that an attorney representing Meadows wrote a letter in which he blamed President Joe Biden for not doing enough to protect the prerogatives of the executive branch, and said it was because of this that Meadows would not be cooperating unless forced to do so. "Mr. Meadows remains under the instructions of former President Trump to respect longstanding principles of executive privilege," the attorney wrote. "It now appears the courts will have to resolve this conflict." www.rawstory.com/mark-meadows-capitol-riot-2655538811/

John Dean thinks that Meadows' lawyers will be considering him coming forward . Speaking about his own experience before the Watergate committee, Dean explained, "I actually sought out the prosecutors and the committee because it was just wrong and had to end. My whole mentality was different than Meadows or Bannon's who seemed to think there was nothing wrong with what they were doing or indeed it was behavior they wanted to encourage. I was 180 degrees away; I thought these were things that should be known and stopped." "At the same time, for Mark Meadows, former congressman, and for him to defy or show he has no respect for this committee as part of Congress and this subpoena or expectation of testifying and that he is sending the message of not respecting Congress, that's pretty extraordinary?" host Whitfield prompted."I think that his lawyers will be back in touch with the committee if not over the weekend, certainly on Monday morning, given different circumstances that now apply," Dean replied. "I don't think he wants to encourage a criminal indictment. He has a law license, I think he has political ambition. I think he'll play this a little differently, and indeed, this could force some of these people to testify and end this charade that they're ignoring the investigation or pretending like what happened January 6th wasn't serious and not a really serious problem that has to be addressed." www.rawstory.com/mark-meadows-insurrection/

Huuummmmmmm,.,... Lawmakers could be called to testify if Bannon's criminal case goes to trial: report Tom Boggioni November 13, 2021 According to a report from Jonathan Swan at Axios, the trial of former Donald Trump adviser Steve Bannon could turn into a legal circus with both sides -- the DOJ and Bannon -- calling in a multitude of witnesses in the hopes of bolstering their case. With Swan writing that Bannon's Friday indictment for contempt of Congress was likely a wake-up call to other Trump insiders who are balking at appearing before the House committee investigating the Jan 6th riot that led lawmakers to flee the Capitol over fears for their lives, Swan claimed he doesn't see Bannon doing anything but allowing it to go to trial where he can create even more chaos."Bannon was uniquely defiant of Congress. According to the indictment, he didn't even figure out what documents he has that the committee might want — a typical step, even for people who have no intention of turning over those documents," Swan wrote before speculating what will happen if the former Trump official decides he wants a highly-anticipated trial. "Bannon is expected to turn himself in on Monday for arraignment. And if his case goes to trial, it could be quite a scene," Swan wrote before warning, "The Justice Department could call members of Congress or Hill staff as witnesses. And Lord knows who Bannon would call."www.rawstory.com/steve-bannon-indicted-2655546877/

And his words .... Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon took a moment to advertise his own show as he surrendered to authorities after being charged with contempt of Congress. As Bannon stood in front of a sign reading "coup plotter," he insisted that President Donald Trump's supporters are "taking down" the Biden administration. Everybody watching in the War Room, we're here today," he said. "I don't want anybody to take their eye off the ball of what we do every day. OK? We have the Hispanics coming on our side, African-Americans coming on our side. We're taking down the Biden regime."www.rawstory.com/steve-bannon-surrenders/
