With the new school year approaching I am looking to get more organized. I use my calendar on my iPhone right now. I think I want to go back to a paper planner. It’s easier to see a week-at-a-glance that way. I don’t need an hourly breakdown of my day. Just space to write appointments, maybe 3 things to do and meal plan. Any suggestions?

Another EC planner owner here. I only use the calendar spreads so I buy the onw without the weekly spreads.

I’ve tried a lot of paper options and most recently I’ve landed on the full size Happy Planner and I like it. I like that I can easily remove pages as I’m done or move things around and the space is plenty big for me to write without having to moderate to tiny lettering. And, the variety of stickers makes it fun too!

Every year I say I'm going to try something different and every year I buy the exact same planner because I love it so much. haha It's the Gallery Leather Academic planner from Barnes and Noble. They make other styles but I love the Academic one most. All the months are together at the beginning of the planner, one month per page. Following that it starts weekly pages with the whole week on the left-side page and then a blank lined page on the right. Even if I don't have a lot to write on the day's block on the left I alway use the right-side page for whatever lists occur to me, notes, grocery list, etc. Because it's an academic style it has the extra months since it starts in August. I always start my new one in August rather than wait till January so I use the extra pages for passwords, phone numbers and addresses that I'm always looking up, keeping track of certain things, etc. Yes I could use my phone for those things but I like paper. eta: It comes in several different color options each year, which they change up from year to year.

I have been a planner for over 30 years. I have always tried the "latest and greatest." But for the past 3 years now, I have used an A5 Webster's Pages weekly planner. I LOVE it! My daughter is an elementary special education teacher, and she has been using the same thing and loves it. The full kit is $55 but some are on sale for $20. That's how I bought mine. They used to have dated pages but now they are undated so that's the only drawback. Still a great, great planner. They have a personal size too but we love the A5. websterspages.com/color-crush-personal-planners/a5-planners

monklady123 I have never seen that planner before. I love it but just wish you could add pages to it. I keep my 'to do' list in the back of my planner, and with the rings it's easy to add and remove. Really like what you use though!

I designed one on Agendio about 5 years ago, and I still use it. You can customize the design and save it.

I use both the iPhone calendar and a paper planner book that lives on the counter in our kitchen. My husband also writes his appointments in the paper calendar. It's convenient to use my phone calendar for just me, but it helps us both to see our combined weekly schedule on paper in front of us.

Really like what you use though! For me the blank right-side page is usually enough for to-do lists. For really busy months such as December, and for Christmas especially, I use some of the pages from the duplicate months (because of the academic format). I put Christmas washi tape on the edges of those pages so I can find them easily and I keep running Christmas to-do and gifts lists there.

I'm currently using a Passion Planner weekly for my home life...and I use all the stickers.
I'm also using a daily Daytimer for work. I need lots of room for list and meetings and notes. (Also, I have have my work planner on my desk at work without coworkers seeing my meal plans, weigh-ins and daily gratitudes.)
I've been working at home, so having 2 planners hasn't been an issue. I throw them both in my backpack when I go to the office.

I love my Plum Paper planner. My daily pages contain a spot for Priorities that I use for my daily To Do List, Meals where I write my breakfast lunch and dinner menus, then spaces for appointments. I also use it to track my daily workout plan. It also has a weekly habit tracker plus blank space to doodle.

I'm an Erin Condren girl from way back. The planners make me happy. I've considered others in the past, but almost always buy mine during the Thanksgiving sale.

Happy Planner here, too. I like the vertical with hours and I've been using that (classic size) for the last few years because I had so many schedules to keep (DH, mine, club's, District's and governor's). I will probably keep using the same format for the next couple of years as I expect to be almost as busy.
I used to use the mini, which worked well and I could throw it in my purse but now I've been using the Teresa Collins notebook (for notes, bullet format) and planner for my purse.

I wanted something that combined Motivated Moms type tasks and a planner. I got the pdf download of the 2020 version of Passionate Penny Pincher in September (?) of last year and bought the printed book for 2021. I'm definitely buying the 2022 version when it comes out in Sept. You can get the download for 2021 to see if it works for you (there is a cost). There is a place for meal planning, gratitude, expenses, budget planning per month, a month calendar layout, weekly calendar layouts, checklists for things like house/yard maintnance, holiday planning, weekly organizing project suggestions, and more. But I also recognize that not every planner works for every situation. Just thought I'd share what's working for me. I also bought my son one of her new Academic Planners for this coming school year so we can track his homework, to dos, notes from his after school caregiver, and special events all in one place. shop.passionatepennypincher.com/

Count me in the Happy Planner group. I've used several sizes over the years and find I prefer the BIG. I can keep all of our activities straight without having to write in teeny tiny letters.

For work I use an A5 Filofax with inserts from Cloth and Paper, a black and woman owned business and I LOVE her stuff - even the packaging is swanky.
Personal I use a Passion Planner, also WOC-owned small business, and it's fantastic. Thoughtfully created, I really like the layouts and content style. It fits into a leather folio from a company I like in Turkey so I don't care about the covers.
I'm going to have to hit the road again soon and won't carry physical planners, sadness. On the other hand, COVID may have other ideas.
Whatever you do, don't start following the planner and pen people on IG, lord. That's a crazy rabbit hole that's so much fun.

I had not had a planner for several years, but DD loved her Happy Planner so I broke down and bought myself one in December of 2019.
You know the rest.
I want my money back.

This year I am loving my B6 Stalogy. I use a page a day. Not a bullet journal, but a bullet journal is the closest description. I use an A6 Hobonichi Techo for my gratitude journal and an A5 Hobonichi Cousin for my journal. Two Hobonichi Weeks for two different things and an A5 Hobonichi Cousin for my work planner. The Tomoe River Paper in the Hobonichi's is divine, but the Stalogy paper is nice in another way. I'll stop there, but it is safe to say "I'm a planner girl" and ellaknits - I have one of those IG accounts - good times

I binge on the @written.intentions account and similar - my first addiction is actually journalling, planning is my side gig.
Tomoe River paper is going away, is that right? Galen Leather storied about it a few weeks ago and I wondered if it was a global decision and would affect Hobonichis for 2022 or after, it sounded like it was. The horror.
Clairefontaine paper is awesome too, but like you said, papers are nice in different ways.
