Parts of Canada aren't much better. The Provincial Health Officer in Alberta has decided, in her infinite wisdom, that they should shut down testing, and people who get Covid don't necessarily have to quarantine. I'll try to find an article: Summary of changesHere is another

I just checked the Johns Hopkins site. Was there a data dump yesterday? It's showing 194 608 cases reported yesterday. That seems really high considering it's your summer and your vax program is quite far along. New cases yesterday was around 123K. It has been going up, but that is still lower than the almost 300K new cases in one day back in January. Deaths are lower though now, yesterday was around 600. Back in January daily deaths were up in the 3,000 range. I don't know if this link will work, but you can hover over the chart to see the daily number. You can also change it from cases to deaths. www.google.com/search?q=covid+cases+us&oq=covid+cases+us&aqs=chrome..69i57j0i131i433i512l3j0i512j69i60l3.4408j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

I wonder why there is such a huge difference with the jhu data.

Thank you. I wonder why there is such a huge difference with the jhu data. Could be any number of reasons. A reporting lag, different methods of gathering the data, etc.
