Loving the Color Cast Design album. I used one of her clear acrylic albums a couple of years ago and it was my favorite. Hate the CT release. A big no thanks to creepy Santas and demonic elves. On the fence with AE. I'm holding out hope for Coco Daisy or FJ. I'm hybrid, so I'm hoping to see some digital stuff soon too.
I'm another non-Hallmark watcher. You ladies inspire me though. Maybe this will be the year!

joblackford, I was going to message you to ask you if you made the pomegranate connection. I think it’s hilarious. I’m not an Ali edwards DD scrapper so none of this interests me. I’m just here for the excitement and build up to December.

Dear ladies, don’t throw oranges and pomegranates at me but I have never watched Hallmark or any of their movies. I’m not a hallmark movie person either. Will I get kicked out if I tell all of you I don’t watch Hallmark movies? Psshhh, no hating here. If we were all the same, it'd be really boring. However: They are much more fun with the Hallmark Movie Bingo!! Legit. joblackford's Bingo last year made our Hallmark (also Lifetime) experience 1000% more fun for DH and I. My kids didn't watch the movies with us, but even they got caught up in who was winning or had found a few squares to fill in. I even took a couple of our Bingo cards and mounted them on cardstock to put into DD and plan to do it again this year. ^.^ Yes her bingo cards are in my DD’s too!!!!

Big no on the fabric circles for me. Had they had more recognizable icons, I might have loved them. But a pomegranate? Orange? No.
The Color Cast album is nice, but not my style. I do love her clear albums though (when she has them in stock). Makes a great mini travel album.

Looks like a normal ES kit with the addition of that stark blue I feel they've had a lot of this year. I have sooo much stuff from the past couple years I've used their kits I don't think I'll be getting anything.. but never say never because I do like the look of those chipboard stickers on the left side of the first photo lol

I really like the colors of Elle's kit, but I hate the cursive/script font they use on everything. However, their acetate shapes are amazing, so I'll wait and see what comes out.
Super smart of them to go on sale August 25th and beat the AE + company releases, IMO. I know it seems like we keep getting earlier and earlier, but we keep tripping all over ourselves to buy it up, so they're clearly onto something.

I will probably buy one or two things (atleast, I usually do) but I wont be getting a ton of it. I hate their card weight + the cursive script they use.

So far I'm liking the AE fabric circles and the Colour Cast numbers. I am also thinking about that 8x10 AE album. Not sure about DD but I think it'd make a good travel album. Hhmm. I bought the poinsettia album from Echo Park (?) also.
Poinsettias were my grandma's favourite flower/plant. I thought of her as soon as I saw the album and just had to buy it. I think I'll use it to make a separate album all about my grandparents and Christmas instead of a DD.
I'm not a big Hallmark movie person. However my mum loved them. We'd call one another just to say hi,what're you doing. More often than not she'd be watching one of these movies if it was during the holiday season. She'd talk me into watching it with her. She'd have a cup of tea and I'd get some hot chocolate and we'd have a nice long chat as we'd watch the movie together. I'd cringe and tell her how awful it was, she'd laugh and say she knew and that's what made it so good. lol ❤❤ God I miss her.

No speech bubbles, please! I remember when they were a big thing in the mid to about late 90's. I still have a bunch of quote bubble stickers. As a person who has always read comic books and now have children who read comic books and graphic novels, I've always enjoyed them. I have a Star Wars Comic Con obsessed daughter. Since my son is non verbal, I use them a lot and write or stamp what he's probably thinking. A quick look at the 2021 Merry & Bright Citrus Twist kit and stamp that msupea posted about earlier in this thread: Santa scares me.
omg it's lady elaine's long lost son! spoiler because.. *shudder* Those damn puppets gave me nightmares as a child. Every time they got on the damn trolley and go to make believe land, I'd leave the room.
Alicia Witt is just a walking disaster to me. I know she was really into her 2020 Christmas movie since she wrote it (I think). I couldn't get past 15 minutes of it despite Andrew Walker. I know! I can't look away from the movies she stars in, but didn't realize (or forgot) she made a 2020 movie. I Must watch I'm not Ready for Christmas every time it airs.

5. A Christmas romance you'd wish Hallmark (or Lifetime or Netflix, whatever) would just film and show already? I read "The Tourist Attraction" (Moose Springs, Alaska series) last season and I love the idea of the story about XX then another movie about the friend from the previous. I like this idea! I haven't read too many of this genre, but did read the Cedar Cove series by Debbie Macomber.
Yes!!!! No more Candice Cameron Bure!!!! Confession...I wanted her hair SO bad when she was on Full House. I also had a crush on her brother. I'm over both of them. I don't know why, but her voice grates on me. I equate them to cheesy romance novels which is funny because I used to love reading those. My sil loves the hallmark movies, I just can’t get into them. They are much more fun with the Hallmark Movie Bingo!! Yes! That's why me and my daughter mainly watch them.
4. Your Christmas romance movies pet peeves? Doing all the big Christmas activities on Christmas Eve. The town's tree lighting / Christmas parade / holiday ball is on the 24th? Santa's busy that night doing other things. Nailed it! Copying your answer. That and the characters with Christmas names; Nick, Holly... And an odd amount of redheads. Aren't they only 3% of the population?
Love at the Christmas Table (it's made by The Asylum.. yknow, the people who made all the Sharknados ) starring Danica McKellar where she plays herself at 18 years old and they think throwing some bangs on her will help, and cutie pie Dustin Milligan aka Ted from Schitt's Creek. Along with Lea Thompson & Scott Patterson. It randomly pops up on Hulu/Prime/Hoopla each year and I watch it easily 2 or 3 times before the season is over. Ohhhhhhhh, I'm going to look into this one. It checks all the boxes; Back to the Future, Gilmore Girls, Schitt's Creek, and The Wonder Years.

HALLMARK POLL, everyone!
1. Favourite Hallmark actors (male and female)? I'm terrible at remembering names. Don't hate me, BUT I can't look away when Alicia Witt stars in a movie. 2. Favourite Hallmark Christmas movies EVER? Again, terrible at remembering names. I'll have to revisit this one. 3. Favourite Christmas romance trope? Hmm. Another pea said they wanted one where they go back in time. There's been few of those, but I like them. 4. Your Christmas romance movies pet peeves? As mentioned earlier, town events on Christmas Eve and Christmas. And ENOUGH with the Nick, Holly, and whatever Christmas first names of characters.
ETA: Sorry for all the posts. I was very behind on the thread.

Maybe when it’s released I’ll like it more. ES always has a ton of cute embellishments though - both in the kit and in the shop

There are some bits in this that I'm really vibing with. I love Elle's Studio chipboard stickers - it's just right for pocket pages. Hate the scripty font puffys but I don't get on with that type of embellishment in general. Some of the cards look cute. I'm hoping that some of these Christmas bits end up at my online store of choice here in the UK.

I agree ES has great embellishments. Their chipboard is some of my favorite, it’s just like Pinkfresh Studios. I love the matte finish and slightly less thickness. Their puffy stickers usually win me over too, it’ll depend on how much writing/words are involved - I don’t care for the script font they favor either. It looks childish or dated, or something? I can’t ever really pinpoint what it is that turns me off.
I saw a sneak of a number stamp set of Instagram that was almost a must have - they’re outline with stars. I just wish the numbers were a chunkier font, they looked too skinny to me.

The alpha star stamp is cute but too big. I like that stamp set, too! Reminds me of some KP stamps I have. I guess I could just block off a portion with washi, stamp while leaving the gap, then add in another stamp... Excellent.

That alpha stamp is super cute. I’m sure I’ll pick up some embellishments. Just need to see what the paper and cards look like. I’ve decided on a 6x8 album in my stash for this year.

hellooo to my One Tree Hill rewatch happening right now I'm at the end of season 2 right now. I even own this show as a DVD set. No shame in the OTH game! I know I am missing out but typically during Holiday time off I am catching up on my other shows and I usually watch the shows/ movies with my hubs or a family movie with my kid so no time for these types of movies in my life:( Aww, don't worry about it. The nice thing about these cheesy Hallmark movies is that they run from late October on and then they switch into a winter season right after Christmas so you can watch some way before the madness of Christmas and after NYE when everything has settled. They are much more fun with the Hallmark Movie Bingo!! Another vote for joblackford 's Hallmark bingo cards! She's going to be on link-posting duty for the next few months, I feel. Everyone's been playing along with them in the past couple of years. Will I get kicked out if I tell all of you I don’t watch Hallmark movies? Abso-freakin'-lutely not. You are not missing out on anything particularly stirring or mind-altering, trust me. It's really just pure distraction, easy fun. I love watching a good cheesy Hallmark Christmas romance while editing photos or getting busy with paper and adhesive but there's not much more than corny background entertainment to them. I'm shocked that there are no My Dad Wrote a Porno podcast fans here *adds to podcast list* Carolers who are super aggressive and gleefully interrupt almost-kisses Bwahaha! "Get off the screen with your Victorian outfits! This isn't Disneyland, this is a... oh, a Hallmark movie. Nevermind." a Christmas Groundhog Day would be fun It's the current trend! Netflix released their Brazilian production Just Another Christmas last December (it's painful to watch this dubbed but I enjoyed it in the OG Portuguese version): Tubi released A Chance for Christmas featuring an influencer stuck in Christmas hell just two months ago (and I cannot find it online as a non-US viewer, ugh): And Disney will release one December 3rd on the Disney Channel (maybe Disney+ as well or at least for global release?): I'm another non-Hallmark watcher. You ladies inspire me though. Maybe this will be the year! Join us! There's enough cheese in these to fill everyone's fondue pot. I’m not an Ali edwards DD scrapper so none of this interests me. I’m just here for the excitement and build up to December.Best part of the thread, for sure. I really like the colors of Elle's kit, but I hate the cursive/script font they use on everything. I simply cannot with their cursive either. And it never changes. I'm not a big Hallmark movie person. However my mum loved them. We'd call one another just to say hi,what're you doing. I'd cringe and tell her how awful it was, she'd laugh and say she knew and that's what made it so good. lol ❤❤ God I miss her. Aww, that's such a lovely anecdote and memory. I'm sorry your mother is gone. Maybe you can find a bit of that magic again along with us this year? We'll gladly raise our cup of tea and hot cocoa to her memory with you! ENOUGH with the Nick, Holly, and whatever Christmas first names of characters. And Noelle obviously. Freakin' Noelle. I like that stamp set, too! Reminds me of some KP stamps I have. I guess I could just block off a portion with washi, stamp while leaving the gap, then add in another stamp... Excellent. I like the idea of washi-matting better because you get to play with metallic inks or fine embossing powder to create glimmering stars on top of the matte letters then.

RE: Ali's orange/mandarine/clementine + pomegranate icons My SO reminded me that the orange/mandarine/clementine is perfectly fitting for Saint Nicolas/Sinterklaas. Ali's Catholic, isn't she? And he also reminded that pomegranates are a major symbol of Christmas in the Greek tradition. Duh! Where's my mind? I've seen these before in a Greek museum but totally forgotten about them. They used to be offered to certain goddesses as a symbol of fertility. Nowadays, they stand for general good fortune and prosperity in the coming year. A pomegranate is often hung above the door on Christmas to allow these goods things to enter the home over the holidays. Here are some clay pomegranate ornaments from Greece dating from 800-700BC: So, I'm going to have to back off and stan AE for broadening her offer to embrace non-US traditions. Go diversity! It's a bit obscure at first, granted, but now I really want to hang a pomegranate in the apartment for Christmas!

I wasn't sure if I liked the fabric circles at first but I remembered my mom always talking about her Christmas as a child when she was alive that she never got toys but always a sock with just fruit in it. So I want them to include this story in my album. I miss my mom.

Who's getting up at 5 a.m. EST to buy Elle's Studio?
I need sleep more than DD supplies but I may log in when my alarm goes off.
I'm liking the date numbers. I have way to many DD numbers but I love having a different font for each day.
