I’m late to comment, but when I first looked at this, I was wondering why Albert Einstein was popping out of a gift box… then I zoomed in. 😂

Also, call me crazy but I've been loving some of those old Christmas cards and book illustrations, quietly dreaming of a designer running with the kumbaya wood creature theme for a wintery SB line in the future... Seriously, I'm just drooling over these when they pop up on my Pinterest feed! Yes, I want some squirrels wearing granny shawls and bunnies in earmuffs, please. Check out the store KBandFriends on Etsy if you’re okay with digital images. She’s got all kinds of images like these, and lots of Christmas specific packs.

the SC release... why does santa's hat need to say santa? did he forget who he was? did everyone around him? I was thinking the same thing. Normally I find a wink from a guy charming (like if Tom Hiddleston or Andrew Scott winks I just get all weak in the knees) the name on his hat and the leering wink that particular Santa is giving just are giving off creeper vibes. He looks like a nutcracker posing as Santa. #nope

Also, someone tell me I'm not the only one who sees a cat pooping christmas lights... If the cat was sitting more upright I think it would look less suspicious.

On another non-Ali note, Cocoa Daisy is supposed to open their annual pre-order for their December Holiday kit which only will be sneaked by its artwork and you have to buy it blind. Usually the preorder runs at the end of Aug -beg. of Sep. I didn't realize that's how Coco Daisy does things. I'm a newer CD subscriber and I've really liked using their kits this year. I don't love buying sight unseen, but I can see caving, especially since I haven't loved anything yet. Thanks for sharing. If you are a subscriber you may want to wait to see the subscriber early reveal of the full kit before purchasing. I have been a CD subber for years and usually their Christmas specialty kits are a great value, but last year it was very thin and not worth the price in my opinion (perhaps that was due to Covid supply issues however). I did not buy their sight-unseen Halloween kit this year for that very reason. I want to see what is in the kits now before paying a premium. Just my 2 cents

my love for croissants (better than pains au chocolat and that's the French hill I'll die on), Huh? How can you even compare the two? It's like having a favorite kid!

But are we talking warm from the baker or just room temperature (still fresh though, no one like stale viennoiseries)?

I totally bought the Halloween collection sight unseen, which I promptly forgot about, ordered some other fall things, so now I'm banned from any more fall. Whoops.

I love chocolate but am extremely fussy about the quality so I usually avoid all things chocolate in restaurants and cafés unless they are known to be great quality. As for butter, give me real salted butter, not fake buttery spreads - what the heck - how anyone likes those spreads is beyond my comprehension!

I’ll be the lone dissenter to the Felicity Jane albums. I’ve used them twice and had issues both times. Basically the rings get messed up in shipping (per the owner) and the clasps no longer align. Pages constantly get caught while turning. Her customer service was less than stellar. Basically I had to ship the album back in order to get a new one. During the holiday rush I didn’t want to deal as I was working on it each day. The albums are nice enough, though annoying with no bookplate, but I won’t take a chance on them again. Thanks janamke I was thinking of getting one.

Have identified some of the art Ali Edwards bought for this year's DD on Creative Market ( x): oooh very nice and I might just splash out and buy it.

Just catching up on this thread after another crazily busy time at work. Ugh I was really hoping going into lockdown would mean things got a little quieter, but no. I like some of the DD sneaks this year but do have quite a bit already that I bought earlier from FJ on sale so will need to see everything properly to judge. I do need an album or two but may end up getting the Simple Stories or Echo Park one.

Not to me. I like the frayed edge. My albums don't get a ton of "use" so I wouldn't imagine they would fray significantly enough to be messy. I'm loving this sneak!

Is it just me or does the quality of that canvas look sketchy. Fraying edges = messy. It's rough and definitely going for that DIY look. But it also looks pretty heavy. This + adhesive and thicker cardstock means you'll be adding quite a bit of weight to your album. You can just buy the super cheap off-white fabric from IKEA (Bomull) and sew canvas pockets yourself. Barely any effort, barely any money, zero sweatshop labour involved.

I was just coming here to see if anyone had commented on it. Those frayed, unfinished edges are a huge no especially with the lack of an allowance to trim it down. I understand not wanting to stitch around all of them (even though I’d prefer that to fraying), but not giving space for the maker to get creative with finishing is a missed opportunity in my eyes. I swear I’m not always pessimistic haha!

I cut off all the frayed edges of DD’s denim, the frayed edges in albums would drive me bonkers (probably why there is no torn edges on any of my scrapbook pages).

that was my immediate reaction, and the stitching as well.

The fraying doesn't bother me. Them being off centered bothers me immensely.

Otherwise I’d just trim that side, but I won’t be buying these so we will see what people do with them I guess! I love the idea of adding texture though.

How is it meant to be adhered or fit into an album? Maybe with the little bit of clearance on the side you can get a couple holes punched in.. or gluing it down to cardstock? HMMM.
Bets on price? $8.99 imo for the pocket and presumably 2 tags
They folded a scrap of fabric over and ran 3 stitches... Shit, you could hand stitch that if you didn't have a sewing machine and it'd probably be cuter with a large running stitch. Take yourself down to Joanns or even Walmart and grab half a yard of fabric and you have enough for a couple pockets.
