That is the kind of stuff OA used to use that I just LOVE! Not Christmas related but i made a shadow box of one of their ephemera cards. It is a little kitty in a jaunty sailor hat saying to a similarly hatted turtle "I'm a kitty, who are you?" I love those vintage type embellishments. I think My Pretty Studio (is that the right store?) does similar things, do they ship to the land of croissants and beret and stripe wearing persons? (You know I am teasing, correct?) Considering the amount of marinières (breton stripe shirts/sweaters) I own and my love for croissants (better than pains au chocolat and that's the French hill I'll die on), that's no teasing but an accurate description of me living my best life!  Pretty Little Studio does a great job at reprinting vintage images and I really appreciate them for that (your sailor kitty sounds super cute, by the way) but I'd love for a designer to recreate a whole line where everything fits the whimsical woodland theme perfectly, from the papers to the ephemera and the alpha Thickers. There must be someone up for the task and a brand willing to risk it... Any squirrel at Christmas just makes me think of "Christmas Vacation"... It's a funny squeaky sound. *faints* *falls to the floor* Someone else: "Don't move!"  |

Someone predicted it well with the release being late by one week this year. 3 weeks for preorder period which is similar to last year and plenty.
I think the class Back to Basics will good this year as they have an awesome design team that is not limited to think circles and triangles and will provide 30 or so ideas. Wonder is the price will be higher because of that.
On another non-Ali note, Cocoa Daisy is supposed to open their annual pre-order for their December Holiday kit which only will be sneaked by its artwork and you have to buy it blind. Usually the preorder runs at the end of Aug -beg. of Sep.

Have identified some of the art Ali Edwards bought for this year's DD on Creative Market Well done! I've been meaning to have a look myself. I love those patterns. And I love, love, LOVE the winter woodland picture you posted! Reminds me of the books my Nana would have in her house for us to read. Would be amazing to have a line like that. |

Studio Calico's Christmas kit looks like a good fit with Crate Paper's Busy Sidewalks: Why do I always feel that SC is competing with AE? Releasing the sneaks of their collection before AE reveal. It’s not like their collection can compete in scale and followers but still. I like the die cuts but wish they were not tags. The Winking Santa gives me creep vibe as the one with long lashes:) Also SC December kits have been $10 or special code kits for the past few years and also had items that can be used in DD so we shall see about this year. |

Did we make predictions if 8x10 price will be the same as 9x12 or 8x6 or in between? Any bets if the albums will be more expensive this year due to the higher costs of manufacturing/ supply chain issues?

I believe they upped the main kit's price last year so I expect the albums to follow this year.8x10 will definitely be more expensive than 6x8. I think it'll be the regular 9x12 price since DD albums are more expensive than regular albums to begin with. So, 29.99 for 8x10 BUT if they up album pricing across the offer this year then it'll be 30.99 or 31.99. We really need someone to tally up the cost of main kit + album + 1/4 of all extra products and ALL the products + 1 album this year. I think it'll be interesting to compare total costs of AE DD albums over the years and alas, we didn't get around to it in the past. It's never too late... Any volunteers? |

Also, call me crazy but I've been loving some of those old Christmas cards and book illustrations, quietly dreaming of a designer running with the kumbaya wood creature theme for a wintery SB line in the future... Seriously, I'm just drooling over these when they pop up on my Pinterest feed! Yes, I want some squirrels wearing granny shawls and bunnies in earmuffs, please.  Maybe Pretty Little Studio can make your dreams come true. The cute animals and vintage tree is definitely their vibe. I find that annoying too but I'll toss an enamel dot or some other kind of sticker on the hole, or cut the prongs of a brad and use a glue dot to make it look like the brad is holding it down. I do not find the santa creepy! But I also don't use stamps so I hope I'll be able to get some of the stuff without having to buy the stamp set. |

Normally I find a wink from a guy charming (like if Tom Hiddleston or Andrew Scott winks I just get all weak in the knees) the name on his hat and the leering wink that particular Santa is giving just are giving off creeper vibes. |
