I decided 'no' on everything this year since $7 shipping would be ridiculous for a couple embellishments. 🙃
The thing about Ali.. she's not dumb, yknow? She knows the very specific type of people in the FB group who buy everything to copy her and need to have it juuust right and exact. It doesn't mean she's at fault for anything, but "its only about the stories!" goes out the window the moment she herself is using $500 in products with her own name printed on the package while spouting "less is more" to the camera.
The forced toxic positivity in the group doesn't help.

So Im kinda pissy. I usually like buying the 3x8 journal card/transparency sets and had planned to pick it up today. But I just noticed the holes already punched in the cards so you have to put them outside the pockets. UGH. I hate that. In the past I've cut the cards to 3x4 and used them as pocket fillers when I needed some. Now I cant do that. So now I guess I will either have to get the digital or do something else.

Cool. Got what I wanted. The only thing I was concerned about was the Fa La La album. Apparently that's the one everyone wanted on the FB group. I got the advent calendar. $1.67 per day lolol. I just looked at the calendar. The stuff inside looks really cute. It's very tempting! |

I got the advent calendar. $1.67 per day lolol. I think I will too. I'm a sucker for advent calendars. A sucker. Last year I bought myself the Nightmare Before Christmas one and I loved every day. I got everything I wanted and a couple of the sale items. Last minute I decided NOT to buy the envelope set because it's $5 an envelope and that's just ridiculous. I would pay maybe $5 for the big one but the smaller kraft one is something I have in my stash. I got the huge felt numbers because I love them. What a fun page to have a big old red number stapled at the top and you lift it up to reaveal the photos and stuff. I might even do some hand stitching on one. I got the gold numbers, the attachers, the while alphabet because I really need one, and that enamel pin. On sale I got the 3X8 paper pack and transparencies that I was too cheap to buy last year. The discounted price was good. I saw the plastic numbers from last year and they were in my cart but I didn't get them fast enough. Not that I need another number. I also snagged the paislee press puffy stickers. I have 9 nieces and nephews and each year I do a page about them. It's fun to number them. It's usually day 9. Hope everyone is doing well! I gotta get to the office. |

Yeah, it was gone like that *snaps fingers* so it would've been the cornucopia bloodbath over the very few they apparently had. On the upside, if enough stuff doesn't sell out this year due to lower sales, we might get another DD flash sale next year with $1 and $2 items. |

Got the album, a set of pocket pages, those giant felt numbers and the notebook. We have a couple trips for Dec and I want to document them in there and then insert it in a pocket in my album. Can't wait to see what you do with the big numbers. I think they're great! |

So Im kinda pissy. I usually like buying the 3x8 journal card/transparency sets and had planned to pick it up today. But I just noticed the holes already punched in the cards so you have to put them outside the pockets. UGH. I hate that. In the past I've cut the cards to 3x4 and used them as pocket fillers when I needed some. Now I cant do that. So now I guess I will either have to get the digital or do something else. Not to be an enabler but these look like the size of the page protector, not true 3X8 (more like 3.5 X 8) so you could cut the holes off. Some of them look centered to the paper but some look centered to the 3". It's odd. I'm really loving this too but not for $20. Maybe I'll get it next year on sale. Ha! |

Plus, with the bigger album, I'm trying to challenge myself this year to try new (to me) things. I think when I have them in hand I'll get some inspiration and come up with some ideas. :-) |

I am trying to withstand the internal wanties on the Advent calendar. I found some 2013, 2015, and 2018 DD supplies stashed with my other Christmas stuff and I just took a peek and closed the boxes right away. My current plan is to buy some string closure kraft envelopes on Amazon and then close my eyes and fill them with the DD leftovers I found. Oh for those wanting the Advent calendar but find the price too outrageous...could you maybe buy a few Christmasy craft things wherever and some envelopes. Then have a family member or friend put them together. Viola Advent calendar. lol Yes you'd know what you're getting but still not know the specific item per day, if that makes sense. Plus, bonus, you wouldn't be getting items you don't like/don't want/won't use and still have a little surprise each day.

It's specifically for the Facebook group, not DD in general. To be fair, it's a brand's FB group, not just a general DD group. I wouldn't expect a brand or retailer to be cool with a lot of discussion around a competitor's products. I'm with pancakes on this one. That specific FB page is for the AE DD brand. I wouldn't expect to see Tillamook recipes on a Kraft cheese Facebook page. I think it's a little unfair to twist the meaning of the rules like that. I totally agree that it is her brand, however, if Tillamook is spouting off about "it's not about the cheese, it's about the food you eat"? That's my problem. Stop saying it's not about the product, when it clearly is. I don't like the flip flopping messages, just own it. I am a business, I want anything related to December Daily to bring me money. |
