I so thoroughly loved Prep Day. So much fun. So inspiring.I am now Laura Wonsik's biggest fan. She and Pam are phenomenal. And Ali was really getting into it. I felt like maybe she's been feeling a bit of burnout but got a little groove back yesterday. She was super cute when Laura was talking about this stamping thing she was using Ali was like, "I may have just bought that. I mean, I totally just went and bought one." Something like that. Yes. Yes and yes. I thought it was just me. Ali really seemed to be into DD this year, and when she explained why it is the one project she will always do it reminded me why I've been an AE fangirl from the beginning. I know they have an IG live today that I'm planning to watch I think either Laura or Pam are hosting I can't remember but they are both amazing so I'll watch whoever is on.

I'm so happy to see the prep party was better than last years! Maybe I'll pick it up and have my own party this upcoming weekend. In other news I lost products?? I misplaced a few things I got from the $2 sale earlier this year and am running out of places they could be. I know when I'm looking for something else they'll magically show up

I lost those brass metal charm/tag things last year and I found them in a very unusual place on the bookshelf (along with two things I had forgotten I bought).

I too really liked this year's DD party. I thought Ali interrupted a bit too often but it might just be because Pam and Laura's duo worked so well. I liked the pace, the content and all the digitals are usable. Really happy I bought the class. 😊

Add me to the list of people who enjoyed the Prep Day class. I had all day to myself as a birthday gift and devoted it to watching the videos and finishing my Travel album from this summer. I know, weird, but I got it done and happy about it. I am going to try to finish my Halloween pictures and my kid’s birthday pictures before DD starts. I premade some things for my DD album but planning mostly on winging it in December. I probably will not do crazy interactive pages this year or not as many of them and just will try to focus on stories/ pictures. This is my 9th year. I am using FJ album from my stash and CD items from 2017, 18, 20 and 21. Plenty of supplies to put a cute album together.

Did anyone watch the Instagram live yesterday? I really loved it. I got some great ideas. One was to focus on a color for the day. So like her son's green jacket, her mom walking in the nature preserve near her house with her kids. The other was a number like 5. 5 senses, 5 vowels, 5:00
Good to remember for days when you don't have a lot going on.

What are people using for albums this year? I was going to use one of the old SC recipe binders with the red diagonal stripe, but it isn’t jiving with my vision. I am not excited about anything I am seeing that is available. I need the bigger 2.5 spine and prefer the 6 rings.

What are people using for albums this year? I'm planning to use Vicki Boutin's Warm Wishes line for most of my DD so I bought the coordinating album. However it's only two rings and they are not 2.5" like the Inked albums so I'm not sure if I'll use it in the end. I did buy the gray 10x8 from AE after hearing about ideas to use it as an album for documenting past Christmas highlights/memories, but now I'm leaning towards trying it out for my DD album.

I've mostly done 6x8 in the past, but 9x12 is how I do vacations, so I had very high hopes for this holiday season apparently. ^.^

I am using a Simple Stories album that I believe was from last year. I got it off of Amazon in September, but it’s currently out of stock there. The Simple Stories holiday binders usually have the bigger spine, but their regular albums don’t, so you have to pay attention to whether it’s an actual holiday one, or not, or it might have the smaller rings. They also only have 2 rings, instead of the 6 like some of the other brands.

Can y'all spam me with your December Daily Pinterest boards? I don't have time to play with paper during the week but I'd like to look at pretty stuff.
Is there any other eye candy out there? Two Peas used to have a gallery back in the day.

Her choices are usually fairly limited, generally just black and white, and her shipping tends to be pretty high (especially on her albums) but they are really lovely quality albums.

I love how creative Shu-Wen is and I promised myself no (/very little) out of PP things this year because A. time and B. 3x8 doesn't lend itself to much space... buuuuuuuuuut I really love her hand stitched star tag. That's relatively flat, right? lol ...also when she starts stamping with the alpha stamps she's using the S upside down and it completely and utterly triggers something inside of me

Ive done that in the past and I ended up with one of my favorite albums. This year I am using an AE 6x8 green album. Its a touch brighter than I would like, but its working.

I put silver stars on the cover using texture paste and am going to make a large star shaker and a color cast designs acrylic to decorate the front. The texture paste is pretty but could have been better if I had a larger stamper because you can see where I lined up the joints. I will stick a link when I finish and post on Instagram.

What are people using for albums this year? I'm not going to DD this year (last year I did a TN and it worked great for me). But I am going to JYC - and I just add to a SS 6x8 that I started several years ago. W/JYC I just do a story or two - not necessarily about this year - just whatever memory(ies) I feel like recording for the holidays this year.

huskermom98 I'm doing the same thing! I bought VBs warm wishes line + album and I'm adding extras from my stash. I did pick up the DD prep day class because of all the feedback. Haven't checked it out yet, plan to this weekend. Not quite in the mood for DD just yet.

3 WEEKS until December 1st! Christmas season is coming... And Christmas season is synonymous with food and twinkle lights! With all the baking and kitchen-y making on the way, today is the perfect time to listen to a professional food photographer discuss in simple terms how to make your December cookies and cakes look all the more appetising and festive with some basic fairy lights and the right settings on your camera.

I too, loved Prep Day this year. I listened to all of it. The format was perfect for me. 95% of my DD ideas come from other peoples albums, especially Amy Gretchen. Gosh, I am such a fangirl of hers. Her work is perfection. I now have a few more people to check out as well.
Pam Baldwin is a total darling. She is the sweetest thing ever and did such a great job moderating and moving along. And I've been using Zine's in my albums for years, no idea they were a thing.
Laura's stamping demo was such a hot mess, but that is what stamping is all about. I'm going to try her unemboss technique with something.
I much prefer this format than the foundation pages of pervious years. I don't use foundation pages. Not sure about the pie chart. My husband is a data analytics guru and has very strong (anti)feelings about pie charts. But maybe.
All in all, WELL worth the $5. I'm totally in the mood for DD.

I actually caved earlier today and bought the stamp set she used; I think her idea of stamping the same images on to 4x4 cardstock squares (or even 4x6) is brilliant. For me that will add a cohesive flow to my pages, especially on days that I don't have photos to fill all of the pockets of a page protector.

Wait, so I'm supposed to actual put some effort into this? No wonder my food shots all look like crap. I barely put any effort into the baking/cooking, let's be real, and then I snap a photo of the food (in my nasty old pans, usually while it's still steaming) with my phone with the light from the ceiling or microwave/hood and the glass stovetop as the backdrop! Trying to keep the blue digital clock numbers and the dirty spots out of shot is about all the effort I put in. Next you're going to tell me that people on IG don't have effortlessly beautiful lives and homes...

I went through my 2010 blurb book pages (not yet uploaded and printed) and realized I hadn't done anything for the days after Christmas. I think I ran out of steam after our very low key holiday and we didn't actually do anything much for New Year's Eve. But I usually take my books through Epiphany or whenever everything gets put away, so I'm going to add something to document that, even if it just shows how little we did.
And I totally forgot that we watched Death to 2020. I have no memory of it besides being a big bummer. But that's got to go in the book!
I'm pretty close to having something ready for printing for 2019 and 2020 (to get my Black Friday coupon price!). Still a little uncertain whether I should order one very fat book or two smaller ones. I'm doing 5x8" blurb trade book size. Never done one of those before. Anyone have any experience with the trade books? I've been watching ShannanM's videos to get a sense of them.

it's not pinterest but I regularly stalk the #decemberdaily tag on insta and mindlessly scroll and save things I like or maybe wanna scraplift Thanks for the reminder. I had to unfollow last year when all the half-naked selfies started showing up. I followed #decemberdaily2020 instead. This year I need to remember to follow #decemberdaily2021. But I took a nice scroll through and enjoyed it. But come December, ugh. I much prefer this format than the foundation pages of pervious years. I don't use foundation pages. Not sure about the pie chart. My husband is a data analytics guru and has very strong (anti)feelings about pie charts. But maybe. Yeah, I LOVE the look of the pie charts and plan to do them but I'm not sure how I can get it accurate enough for my OCD. I know I am so weird. I'll have to break out a protractor. Do I really feel 35% about this? Update on my Paper Person order. I looked back through the threads and saw what I had asked about it here on Nov. 5 and emailed them that day. No response. So I just emailed again. I don't mind if something is going to be late but at least respond to your customer's inquiries.

How long does it take for your order to be officially lost? My DD stuff from AE has been out for delivery since October 22. Ugh. I check the tracking number every day and it says in transit but hasn’t been updated in 11 days. I just want my stuff!
