I almost bought Liz Tamanaha's new December You're My Fave collection but I wanted a more custom and French language-based approach this year. Highly encourage anyone to give it a go using the free library. I love this! Just love it. I want to play around with Canva now. Did you learn using the class or did you just wing it? Just winged it. I've used Canva before (and prefer Photoshop) but wanted to see how quickly I could get a title element with date done using their free logo library. Turns out, it's less than 2 minutes per title. I can easily keep up with December daily documenting throughout the month using this loophole method if I want to. Give it a go! Just browse the many free logo templates they have, pick a font you like and start modifying. They have some really decent templates to modify in the church logo section (ironically, given I'm an atheist ).

Yes! I like their contributions to the DT, but there wasn’t enough structure to the Prep Day. It sounds like this year’s is improved I just tried to find a post on this in the fb group but could not really find anything - any help with a link or who posted? I have attended the last 3, and only listened to first half of this year, but I’d say this year is better than 2020 overall. Sorry, it's not in the official AE DD group. It's in the group called "DD Inspiration Group - Anything Goes." Posted 2 days ago by Kerrie Zakaras.

Anyone else on the let-it-be-December-1st-already train? The only reason I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving is because the kids are off from school for a week. Otherwise, I could skip it all and just jump to December 1. I have all the Christmasy excitement right now and I don't want a couple more weeks of November to murder it.

I'm ready for it to be December. I know, I have it easy. I don't have kids, I don't have a big family to plan gifts or cook for, I don't have to rush to get everything done. But I'm ready. Bring it! Anyone else on the let-it-be-December-1st-already train? NO! November is the best month of the year. 3 holidays spaced enough apart that there’s only 1 full work week all month. November is the golden month! I’m enjoying every bit of it.

No Thanksgiving here so the next couple of weeks for non-Americans in the Northern Hemisphere are spent waiting for the Christmas lights to be turned on. They've hung the darn things up already but they just won't light them. It's a weird waiting room zone... Also, I want to dive into the Advent calendars. There, I said it. I want to start opening windows and eating chocolates.

Anyone else on the let-it-be-December-1st-already train? YES PLZ. I thought I'd push back Christmas decorations until at least Thanksgiving week but with daylight savings it's getting dark so early.. I told my boyfriend we needed the tree up just for some light in the livingroom and he agreed so.. might be a Christmassy weekend coming up in our house lol I neeeeeeeeeed to connect my new laptop to the printer so I can get journaling done. But my printer is in.. uh.. what I call "the junk room" -- basically that one room you don't let anyone into because it houses random stuff you don't want to deal with.. I call it "a tomorrow problem" lmao. But I really do need to get to the printer, and make sure things are connecting so I can print off journaling whenever I need it. I want to stay on top of things this year at least weekly if the world allows it.

I'm pretty close to having something ready for printing for 2019 and 2020 (to get my Black Friday coupon price!). Still a little uncertain whether I should order one very fat book or two smaller ones. I'm doing 5x8" blurb trade book size. Never done one of those before. Anyone have any experience with the trade books? I've been watching ShannanM's videos to get a sense of them. I have one that I made after seeing Shannan M's books. It is a 5x8" trade book for 52 favourites. It was 108 pages and the spine is 1.4cm (9/16 inches) for the hardcover. The number of pages needs to be divisible by 6 so I have a couple blank pages. The text is clear and crisp. The photos are good but it isn't glossy. I love it (but most of that is the fact I have pictures in my hand instead of my computer or phone). When Blurb has a sale the trade books don't always have as big of a discount. Last black Friday, photobooks were 50% off and trade books were 30% off. My plan is to do JYC as a 6x9 trade book using Shannan's journaling and grid templates. I bought them to do WITL but I have just played around so far. Thanks! I'll do the math on my books and try to maximize the pages - no point in leaving some blank if I don't need to. I have a bunch of other books to order too and will take whatever discount I can get. I noticed some of their sales are only for photo books but 30% off trades would be better than nothing. I'm converting some other albums into photobooks like Shannan and Tracey Holdyk too. Better get on that before Black Friday too.

I am with you on the advent calendar thing I manage to snag myself the Aldi mini cheese advent calendar ( just 1 for myself ) and the Tea calendar that I got for “everyone” I can’t wait for those. But I’m still enjoying the golden month of November all the way thru. Next week is the hardest week being a complete work week. Ugh.

Anyone else marking Interested in all of the holiday events near you on Facebook?
The local horse therapy place is dressing up the horses in christmas outfits and a historical site is doing a craft show. I'm like, bring it cause I need cool photos for my December Daily.
I swear the only reason we leave the house in Winter is so that I can document it.
Heck, I'm even going to start training for a 5k so I can wear a santa hat and photograph all of the runners in their gear.

I missed the cheese advent calendar but I did pick up some raclette instead. I had a rotten day today so I am treating myself to these minne.com/items/16382865That is once I figure out how to measure my nails. I'm not much into manicures/painted nails in general but these appeal to my scrappy self and will look great in my DD .

I'm definitely ready for December. Still in lockdown here so a lot of events have been cancelled but once we hit 90% double vaxxed in Auckland more freedoms should be coming - hopefully early December.

I really need suggestions here, please. I have 10 partly done (less than 50% complete) DD albums from 2010 to 2019. The first two are handmade albums from before the days of DD kits. They are falling apart where the holes were punched along the left side for binder rings. This bothers me very much!!
Then - the other mostly incomplete albums are each started with a distinct style or color palette. How do I bring this all together? I know I'll never finish each album individually. However, I can't reconcile mixing all the colors, styles together. I want to bring closure to all those years and have something for us to look through - right now there are too many blank pages so they all just sit in my studio on a shelf.
Any thoughts, ideas, brainstorms, examples will be greatly appreciated! I did see Jennifer from Simple Scrapper do an album with several years in it - but she started with photos and not partially completed albums. Help!!
ETA: Another thing - is there a place I can look to see Liz Tamanaha's DD kits with Ali through the years, all in one place?

I’d put them together in albums with page protectors. I’d go back thru my photos and find one semi defining photo for each year and print it in B&W - large the size of the album allows and put that at the beginning ( or end ) of each year to buffer between the different styles.

Are these all going into one album (or one series of albums)? Honestly, I would just make a title page for each year and use it as a divider page between each year. You could either choose colours/style that match each year, or go with one design/neutral colour palette that will work with all the different years, and use that as your cohesive element.

If you're ever in the mood, sure, why not. But ultimately, it's more important having the memories gathered and ready to be enjoyed. Maybe make your title pages for each year cohesive? Same design and font(s). That should help tie together the different years in one volume album. As for Liz's mini kits for AE, your best approach is to use her blog with the DD tag. You'll still see some pages from her own DD albums mixed in between but most of the entries she's posted since she started designing physical kits for AE are product-centric.

I’ve just been watching the really bad (free) uploads on YouTube with odd zooming and strange noises…it’s on in the background while I craft so I’m not really watching it anyway to be honest…only missed two 2021 movies so far as they aren’t uploaded where I can find them 😁

Anyone else on the let-it-be-December-1st-already train? Heck yes. November is just so awful. Everything is grey, Our bodies (here in the Northern Hemisphere) haven't adjusted to the cold yet, and I have so much work to do that I can't play with paper. Whine. We are bringing up holiday stuff this weekend. And starting to decorate. My oldest LOVES Christmas and she seems to have a little seasonal depression and this helps keep her mood up. (Confession- I also love Christmas…)

I have been working on some foundation pages for my 2021 DD and pre-making pages that I know I want to include. Today I was pulling photos of movies off the internet. I have six spaces for movies in this page I'm stealing from Amy Gretchen so my daughter and I were picking out the ones we watch every year. Got to 5 and I said, I'd really like to put a photo of you in the 6th spot but I want to print it today.
She asked, "Why? It's not like it's even December yet."
Should I disown her or just kick her out of the house for a week?

The only reason I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving is because the kids are off from school for a week. Otherwise, I could skip it all and just jump to December 1. I have all the Christmasy excitement right now and I don't want a couple more weeks of November to murder it. I become a conflicted mess as soon as September rolls around !! I LOVE fall SO much that I can hardly enjoy it because I'm so worried it will go by too fast! Talk about self defeating ! So I try to be present (while feeling slightly anxious that I'm certainly missing out on some aspect of it!). However - I also love winter - so then I feel melancholy about fall passing and excited about the first snowfall! HAHAHAAA!!! Yes - I have a therapist . GAH! I never thought about it quite like that! BUT you literally read my heart! I love fall. So much that I moved to the New England region of the US to always always have fall. And.. I still savor ever tree! My neighbors must think I'm nuts with the photos I take. I really appreciate the light show. It got cold (enough) and rainy here the last couple days and the leaves have pretty much said "that's enough." The sun is done after 3:30 so I guess I just need to accept it. AHHHH but! I can spend the last 5 hours playing with my bazillion leaves and fall photos!! Hehehehe! This is why I do this. What's the saying? Photos are a ticket back to where you've visited. We have a super fun Thanksgiving planned.. and I admit. I'm kind of overlooking it, looking forward to Old Quebec City Christmas Markets. Meanwhile.. I know my boyfriend is trying to figure out a way to get me committed.

Oh! Great idea! I haven't done a "Christmas through the years" style album since I started DD a very very long time ago. Last album that housed multiple years is a Creative Memories album with the custom covers. I'd love to get my hands on one of those again with a bunch of pp's and pages!! I'd just do a bunch of full page photos and journaling with minimal digital elements (who am I kidding... I suck at adding digital elements... I buy them. I just don't care for them.) Anyway.. not my post, but I appreciate the idea!

I put up my back deck outdoor lights on Tuesday, when it was warmer. I'm glad I set them on the timer, because we had snow flurries today!
I'm ready for December to be here, if for no other reason than this is a stressful month. I have a job interview this Tuesday, an MRI mammogram next Tuesday, and a endoscopy and colonoscopy on the last Tuesday of the month!
