I doubt that I will join but it looks pretty good, and is early enough for most Christmas card makers, without being way too early. I've followed a couple of those people. Was the other one good value for money?

Was the other one good value for money? Yes I thought it was. All the product was exclusive to the event. The classes went fast but that’s what replay is for. I find that is true at all the love events. The stuff from Greg and all the videos snd vignettes were really well done. They made it a lot of fun and very interactive. They have mostly new teachers this time. As long as you like their product I thought it was great.

I might be interested, depending on the price. C&9 is one of my favorites.

I like that the scheduled dates don't conflict with either of the November Crop & Create online events!
I'm also curious how much this will cost. I love all things Christmas paper crafting!

I just checked to see how much I paid for it. I got the early bird price plus shipping...$338. While this was expansive it was a lot of fun and got a lot of products ,there are 7 pictures flic.kr/p/2m7DKoJI tried out their stamp pads, cardstocks and liquid water colors. This was my very first retreat. I already have a lot of Christmas stamps and dies that's why I'm not sure if I will join in.I have to see some sneaks.

I loved the their summer camp, but don’t send that many Christmas cards, and have enough in my stash for those. But if they expand to include more of the season, like the new year, happy holidays, pretty winter aspects that could go in several directions, Chanukah, even Thanksgiving, though it may be too late for that, then I’m in, though it will be expensive.

I just watched an unboxing video on YouTube from their Summer Camp and thought that the value was there in product alone. I just signed up for the Spellbinders virtual event in October. I'd love to sign up for C&9th, as well, but it's so expensive when converted into Canadian dollars. But man, after seeing that unboxing video....

It says the kit itself is worth $215 of product. It sounds intriguing, regardless!

The price says "plus taxes and fees". Anyone know what the fees are for and how much they are?

For the summer camp I had to pay taxes, shipping was free. Maybe other fees for international people.

On facebook. The best groups I have found are clear stamp addicts craft room destash, de-stash to re-stash and then groups that are company specific. Also, I set the price so it will sell. For instance I destashed a bunch of mama elephant stamps snd dies I haven’t used in quite a while for $20 to $25 for both. I figured I used them and loved them and sending to a good home. I charge $4 shipping for one set, combine shipping, and usually add $1 for an extra item, and a few more $$ depending how heavy it gets. Papertrey, lawnfawn, altenew, Taylored expressions, pinkfresh, mft, etc all have specific destash groups for their products which is also a good place to try.

It looks like the cost is $250.
The kit is valued at about $215.
It might really be worth it, but I would want to see ahead of time what the cards will be, and know what techniques will be taught.
If you’ve done their previous ones, did you really love the products, what was taught, and what you made?

If you’ve done their previous ones, did you really love the products, what was taught, and what you made? Unless they reverse course, they wouldn’t reveal projects or techniques ahead of time - that an intrinsic part of the event is the surprises. In fact they considered having everyone unbox together for summer camp, but realized people wouldn’t wait. For some fans of C&9 products and style, it’s fun being surprised. It was for me, though I was 99% sure some projects wouldn’t appeal to me. And they didn’t - like the 3D ones. Not my jam, though I enjoyed watching. While I hugely appreciate and learn from the youtube artists/crafters I follow, the two-day event was just a horse of a different color. A big part of the draw was the getaway - even though at home. But it wouldn’t be for everyone, and is a lot of money for taking a chance.

BTW, for far less money ($79) I attended Eat, Sleep Crafty Retreat (ESCR) in April. No products were shipped; an e-booklet with supplies was provided, and later, with all the project photos. Instructors were Justine Hovey, Laurel Beard, and new to me, Ingrid Blackburn, whose projects and philosophy/advice sent me over the moon.
It was quite different than C&9’s camp. As each instructor demonstrated, another moderated and responded to chat comments/questions. There were funny “card wars” between instructors, and later with some brave attendees crafting under insane time constraints. There was also a breakout session where you joined the instructor you chose in a separate room.
They’re having another one in November, advertising it to previous attendees for an early bird price of $49, but will go public soon. Instructors are Laurel and Justine again, Ardyth Percy Robb, Mary Pelanco and Tiffany Solario.
I learned there’s no way I can “craft while watching.” I’ll miss a lot or muck up my card or both. Sessions would have to be twice as long for everyone to stay on track. (azcrafty is the exception - she’s the Maserati of card makers!) But videos are available afterwards.
Just another way to go, though of course no fun package to open up.

Sigh. I have this debate with myself over and over. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve considered doing online or in person classes or workshops, but I have a really strong practical streak.
Being DH’s caregiver, I can’t even be sure I’d have the time to watch the classes, or make time to watch them later. I have projects of my own design still in progress that I need to finish, and not enough time to do them.
Most of all, though, that very practical side of me keeps saying that the products I’ve been wanting to buy for months would cost me less than the class.
Am I the only one who thinks this way?

That makes perfect sense to me. I could buy a lot of things off my wishlist for the price of this class, although I choose not to because like you I have plenty enough in my WIP box to keep me going.

I wish I had a stronger practical streak, since I can be too impulsive, but lately have moved more toward practicality with classes, anyway, given the many products I have that I haven’t even used. What you’re describing makes complete sense, both because of time, and weighing which would be more fun and satisfying: products you’ve had on your wish list for some time versus a class with mystery products, or even if not a mystery, may or may not measure up to those you know are your style. Inexpensive classes where we can use what we have are out there, if you’re truly hankering for a class. Or maybe classes aren’t really your thing and you get a bit swept along by those who are excited about them. Goodness knows there are thousands of youtube videos and blogs that are mini classes for free.
