This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge.

With schools back in session and the 100 degree days going away, it actually seems like Fall is around the corner. grammadee has organized a fun Sketchtember with hostesses posting sketches each day all month. If you like sketches, be sure to check every day for a new sketch with built in twists and challenges. I hope we all have a great and productive September!

Thank you nylene for starting us up again every month. I have a pretty long to-do list for tomorrow - but some of it is weather dependent so...if it rains, I might get extra time in the craftroom

Happy September, Pokeys! Hoping to get some scrapping done this month. But need to harvest the rest of the garden. Up here, it often freezes pretty hard before the end of September, so anything above the ground level needs to be picked, and we even need to get the root veggies into the basement. I usually pick all of the tomatoes around September 1st, but won't get to them tomorrow. Also have some grandparenting to do. dd & hubby plan to fly to Ontario to participate in the interment of his parents' ashes. Dgs asked if he could come to the farm instead. So I need to pick him up on Friday and then deliver him back on Monday. Then later in the month dd needs me to stay with him a few days while she is meeting some school commitments and Daddy is off at military planning sessions. At least some of those days he will be in school, so maybe I can pack a scrappy bag with me and put together some pages there. And toward the end of the month, I believe ds plans to stop here on his way from a musical gig back to work, and I am hoping to attend a Junior A hockey game my dgs will be playing in a couple of hours from here. Linda, are you planning to create a Word file with all the SKETCHtember sketches? I was thinking it was you who did it last year? If so, I may need it to do some serious catch up once the snow flies!

That does sound like a busy month ahead of you grammadee As you harvest, I'm going to be starting a fall garden - which hopefully will survive better than the spring one did. Unlike the north where you take winters off from gardening, here we take summers off because it gets too hot for most of the plants. I don't remember if I did the sketches last year but I can do it this year. Remind me in early October please

Happy Wednesday! We had a nice vacation. My dh's career event for students last Friday went well. It was a lot of work for him to put it all together. I enjoyed assisting him and hearing the helpful information from the speakers. We were exhausted afterwards so we chilled out until Monday. There is a newer shopping center at the beach that we like so we decided to go there instead of the art festival. It was so beautiful and relaxing there. I took a few pictures so I have a lot to scrap this month. I have a new YT video out. This one is about the Julie Nutting doll stamps "Jayla" and "Kelly" I got over the last several months. Of course, I had to get the one named "Kelly!" LOL! Here are the slimline cards I made. Stop by this video when you can. Link HereJulie Nutting Dolls Stamp Cards by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr Here are some of the cards I sent to you gals, too. So glad they made you smile and laugh! Gal Pal Cards by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr nylene- Thanks for our new thread! I hope you have recovered from your family reunion. I know you will have lots of pages to make. linda- Happy belated birthday!!! Sounds like you had a good time! Hugs! grammadee- Thanks for organizing the new September event! You are a star, girl! Waving hi to you other peas! I need to go back to catch up here. Will be back later. Have a good day!

Happy Friday! Hope you all are doing well! I am getting ready for the art exhibit next Friday. Today, I am gonna clean up my art and tomorrow I have to drop it off to the gallery. I am so excited to be apart of this event and just the fact that my art will be on public display for a month, sends me over the moon! Here is the flyer. Wish you all could be there at the opening! Art Show by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr justjac- So glad you got your card! I hope is made you smile while you are adjusting to "back to school" life. How is it going anyway? grammadee- What will you be cooking with your harvest? linda- How are the kittens, today? So cute! nylene- Waving hi to ya and hope you and your husband are doing well today.

How super exciting kellyr21 - wish I could go see it in person kittens are doing well - they play, play, play, and all of sudden they're napping. Paddington has started climbing up on my lap for pets. Turns out she's a little older than Dusty...abt 2-3 weeks older - but they are getting along so well Covid here is...hitting home hard at the moment...a friend of mine who is a coworker of DH...her dad's viewing was tonight and her granny is sick and her husband's mother just passed also. Another of his coworkers - younger than us, in good shape - just died after several weeks in the hospital. DD14's geometry teacher is out sick. Several people DH works directly with are out sick. A friend is still recovering, another friend has lost several friends and relatives lately. Another teacher I know - her husband is in ICU (and not in our local hospital - there wasn't space)...I was pleased that the viewing required masks and everyone was wearing one but this is a very anti-mask, anti-vax area.

Oh my goodness, Linda . That is a lot of COVID related misery. (((((HUGS))))) to you and your friends/ acquaintances. Our premier stuck his head out yesterday—hadn’t seen him in public for a few weeks—and reinstated mask mandates in all public spaces “except schools”. But he did leave that decision up to the school boards. So excited for you kellyr21 . I hope you get some photos of your display and of the opening. It would be fun to join you! Got home yesterday evening with a hyperactive 8 year old and two dogs for the weekend. Everyone slept well last night, but an early start this morning. Too damp to harvest tomatoes or cukes this morning. A bit of fog and a heavy dew. I am taking a bit of a break while Grampa and boy drive out to see the bison and then do some yard work with the tractor.

Thank you for starting us up nylene ! I got my card Thursday too kellyr21 ! Thank you for the lovely pick-me-up. I spy mine in your photo. It really is wonderful to get a card and know someone out there is thinking of you This will be a short non-chatty post because I have so. many. chores. My co-worker yesterday said we're overloaded with "micro-stressors" and I loved that phrase. I feel like I'm drowning, yet when I look at each task it's not hard, and there are a ton of blessings/privileges involved in these chores! But put 'em together and what have you got? bibbity bobbity STRESS. I'm off to costco with DD right now as I've run out of some important cleaning implements (paper towels I'm looking at YOU) grammadee - I'm kinda glad I don't have an 8 year old in tow However, how lovely that you can do that for him and for your kids. I wish my parents had been involved in my kids' lives. They aren't like you (my Mom clearly told me "I'm not a babysitter" when I had my kids. Now, she lives 3000 miles away, so this is kinda a moot point. But she made sure to tell me. And when she came to visit it was her "vacation" and we were not allowed to go out and leave the kids with her. This is rather why we chose to live 3000 miles away from her! I'm not complaining. My kids are great and we're a tight group together as a family. However, I get jealous sometimes ) Linda - hugs to you in the middle of your outbreaks. I think of your DD at school and hope her vaccine is providing her 100% immunity! My garden is out of control and one chore I'm steadfastly ignoring because it's not hurting anyone except itself Is anyone up for an online crop tonight? I know gramma had posted (somewhere. The boards are another micro-stressor because I want to keep up and I just can't) that she'd love to get together. Or tomorrow? I'll make room and it will be good for me to focus on one thing rather than all the things. I might be drinking Too much chatting! Sending hugs to all!

Have fun with your DGS grammadee - I too wish my mum had been interested in her grand-children but despite being a teacher, she really didn't enjoy children. My MIL was a very involved grandma but my kids were the youngest of her grandchildren and the greats had started coming by the time my oldest was a toddler. She had to help out so much when her other grand-children were kids and ended raising some of them basically and the same for some of the greats, that we never wanted to impose on her. I was grateful she was able to live with us her right before she died because it gave my youngest an opportunity to really spend time with her. kitbop - ((((Hugs))) micro-stressors is a great word for it and they are overwhelming at times aren't they? I'm game for trying an online crop again - hopefully the timing will work out for me.

I might be drinking I know I will be too pooped to scrap, but if the crop goes on past about about 8:00 MDT when dgs goes to bed, I could drop in to chat a bit. So sad about your kids' grandparents, kitbop and Linda. My one grandmother lived with us until she passed away when I was nine. She was a task master and disciplinarian, but she also spent hours reading to us and playing card games with us. My other grandmother seemed to me like the "fun" one, but we didn't see her very often, and she too was gone by the time I was eleven. I love spending time with the kids. Actually was more stressed making sure the DOG didn't get herself into any trouble--or get run over by the tractor dh was driving around the yard. I asked dgs for a little quiet time after lunch, so he is watching a kids' show on TV. Rather than chase all over the board--like the "should" in my brain was telling me to (speaking of micro stressors) I thought I would come here. And then I am going to read for about 8 minutes--til his show is over. Then we go outside again...

Happy Saturday Pokey's! And hellloooo long weekend here in the US. I am ready! Linda and kitbop that makes me sad about your kids grandparents. I never really had grandparents, and my mom wanted to make sure our kids knew they had a grandma. And she did pretty well with that. But we moved 18 hours away when the kids were young, and it just wasn't the same by the time we moved back when they were older. Not having a grandma - (one died when I was 6 months old, the other we were not her favorite kids, offspring, so. ) I wanted to be the best grandma I could for Rudy. I'm winging it, but I think it's working lol. To be honest, I hate Kansas City, but anywhere else I would like to live is too far away. I don't want to be a grandma that only sees the grandkids twice a year. So here I am. and it's odd, because this is one of the stories I'm going to scrap this month thanks to @grandmadee's sketch prompt lol. grammadee I hope you get some time to recharge! Rudy was here last night and I always need a nap when he leaves lol. Oh my Linda that's a lot of Covid around you! I'm so sorry for your losses. I hope it stays out of your immediate family! kellyr21 I'm so excited for you! I hope you'll put up a video showing your display! That's just so freaking awesome, I wish I could see it in person! And for it to be up a whole month! *swoon*! Waving hi to you all!! Going to get a couple things done and join the crop. I need it!

It's been a busy weekend of Rudy lol. A sleep over Friday night, he had a test for his Orange belt on Saturday (I haven't scrapped the yellow belt test yet lol) and we had our usual "lunch date" yesterday while his dad had practice. Today is allll mine. I'm starting a crop this afternoon if anyone wants to join me!

Today I am driving dgs home, but will need to spend the night as his parents will not get home until later this evening. I think their plane lands after 8:00pm. Tomorrow I will get some back-to-school photos as he gets on the bus, then head to Costco before driving home. Glad you gals are getting in lots of scrapping and cropping this weekend. Sorry I am missing them . Hoping everyone has had a great long weekend. Hoping I have the mental capacity to catch up here later in the week. Not sure what kind of charging station my batteries need, but I think it looks a lot like my own bed. (Have been sleeping upstairs in dd’s bed while dgs is here)

joyfulnana - I'll try and pop in but not sure how DH will feel about me online cropping three days in a row. Good luck to Rudy on his orange belt grammadee - I hope you get some rest soon and then a chance to play in the scrap room I need to run some errands and do some housework - not sure how the rest of the day is going to play out. I know I'm cooking hamburgers for dinner. Poor DD21 - she doesn't have the day off school.

Things have been hectic around here in the last week. Alex's other grandpa passed away in Michigan and the family has been trying to maneuver all the plane tickets and trips to the airports. We got the girls to meet up from their colleges and drive to Las Vegas where they caught a flight. Doug left earlier in the week and Em and Alex flew from SLC. They had to coordinate their flights so they could check into the hotel together, since the girls aren't old enough to rent a room! Luckily Em got a rental car and the hotel let the girls check in without her, knowing that she was on her way. I am glad it worked out and hope the return trip does also. It was so much fun to Online Crop yesterday. Thanks to all who hosted and participated. It was so fun to meet you, Linda! I just loved hearing your British accent. It was a shock the first time, but now I read your posts in that accent. I just never even thought about your having an accent. You need to talk more so we can enjoy it! I am trying to do some of the sketches, but know I won't get a lot done. I am slowly plugging along. I don't do very well with sketches and often don't like the results. I think I do better with just my ordinary boring style. I am having a hard time trying to keep up with all the threads of sketches. grammadee, how do you keep up with all you do. I hope you have some energy left to scrap. Have a safe trip. I hope you will find what you need at Costco. Ours has empty shelves again. No water, TP, paper towels, sanitary wipes, and cleaning supplies. Here we go again!!! joyfulnana, it has been so long since I have "seen" you. I hope to get on your online crop this afternoon. Glad you had a fun weekend with Rudy. Now you need time for you. How is your new employee working out? Our Covid numbers are very high. We have had the first death of a school-aged child. It just hurts my heart. We are averaging 1600 new cases a day, with over 400 of those being school-aged children, every day. But our politicians won't allow a mask mandate. All the stores now have a "request" for mask wearing, but inside very few are wearing them. When will this end? It seems so selfish to refuse to wear a mask that can protect, not only yourself, but your community around you. Okay, I'll get off my soapbox and scrap to lower my blood pressure. Hope to see some of you online today!

I'm sorry about the loss of Alex's grandfather nylene - glad the logistics worked for them to get there. I enjoyed the online chat too - I didn't talk much as the feedback issues everyone was having seemed to go away when I muted myself. I asked the kids for ideas and will try those when I hopefully get on today. My accent has faded a ton - I've been in the States 41 years now.

Happy Tuesday! Boy, I have missed all the fun happening here. Glad to see our happy place thriving! I've been busy preparing for the art show opening this Friday. Last Saturday, we went to drop off my art at the gallery. I got to meet the director and his assistant as well as some of the other arts. It was so fun seeing everyone's work. Then last night, I had to approve the write up they had for my art that the gallery visitors will read. Today, I am trying to get some flyer/postcards printed so I can give the guest info on where they can buy my art. Oh, and of course I have to figure out what to wear. LOL! It will be casual but you know me. Whew, so it has been busy at times here. But we did have a super slow holiday and weekend. Dh had his second vaccine shot and just had some minor affects. So we just relaxed. I am working on new art for another art show. I have to submit it by Oct 9 and they will pick the lucky participants after that. So, I thought I would give it a shot. Plus, I am getting my Christmas cards and a few other cards ready. We want to approach a few local stores and see if they will buy my cards. Fingers crossed! So, I guess I am busy! I will be popping in this week. Waving hi and hope you all are having a good day!!!

Oh nylene, my heart goes out to your dd and extended family. Hope everyone arrived where they needed to be and were able to comfort each other. Congrats again on your new adventures, kellyr21. Glad your dh had only minor side effects and that you were both able to relax on the weekend. Right now a relaxing weekend like yours, or camping like MARIBETHR sounds like heaven. Looks like the SKETCHtember crew has been busy. I have alot of catching up to do with comments. And of course am behind in the sketches, myself. Managed to "do" three this morning, including kitbop's and gramma's, so that cuts them down a bit. I am so jealous that you got to play together on the weekend, but I did enjoy my time in here alone today. Oh. And I registered for an October in-person crop with justjac. I thought I would be making page kits for it with the sketches, but when I print a sketch and then find the photos and papers and extras I want to use with it, I end up just gluing the pages together. joyfulnana, when is YOUR crop? Hoping all your kits and story notes will help you get lots of pages done there--as well as have a great time, of course. So I spent the morning playing, and the afternnoon having a nap. Have yet to venture out to the garden. Kinda hoping if I ignore it then it will just "sit" and "stay" until I am ready for it again. And I need to do some housework that was not done while dgs was here, but that will wait for me--probably more reasonably than the garden... Finally have my vehicle unpacked this afternoon: Costco purchases included TP and Paper Towels, both laundry and dishwasher detergent, cleaners and bottled water, as well as some "discretionary" purchases. And I brought back the empty coolers from transporting veggies, so those needed to be stowed away in the garage as well. And now I am tired again. Hope dh does not mind eggs for supper...

nylene I'm so sorry for Alex's loss. I hope everyone gets where they need to be with no hassles. I love Linda's accent too. Linda I hope you can get the feedback issue cleared up, I love chatting with you! kellyr21!! That is so freaking exciting! I'm so happy for you and I hope the shops sell your cards, that would be so cool! my crop is tomorrow!!! I'm leaving for Springfield later today. I've got all the current sketches printed and have pics in mind for them all. Those are going to be my priority lol. I'm a little nervous about how many people will be there, in varying stages of vaccination status, but I'll be masking up and I'm fully vaxxed so that's the most I can do. I'll isolate or get a test done when I get back until I have the all clear. I'm also a little worried about how Abby will do - I'll be gone three nights. Cody is going to check in on her for me and I know she's a cat and will be fine, but we've been together every single day and night for nearly a year lol. I probably treat her more like a kid than a cat lol. Rudy has a karate tournament on Saturday and I'm so bummed to miss it! It's his first one. But he said his dad could get pictures and send them to me lol. I hope you get some rest grammadee - I don't know how you do it all! I would be in bed by 6PM every day lol. I hope you all have a great weekend! *fingers crossed* I flood the gallery when I get back lol.

kellyr21 - so very exciting about the art show and all your other art plans! grammadee - a in-person crop sounds heavenly especially with another refupea. At the rate my area is going...it'll be well into 2022 before in-person activities like that will be a good idea. No wonder you are tired - it sounds like you run on energiser batteries and just keep on going... joyfulnana - I'm so not techsavvy - I think I just need to keep myself muted as much as possible because I'm not really sure what else to try and I hate that other people are having issues because I'm on and clueless. Have a wonderful time at your crop - I'm sure Abby will be fine (but she might be mad at you when you get home and give you a bit of a cold shoulder) Not much happening here - I've not been sleeping well due to the joint pain so moving a bit slower.

my crop is tomorrow!!! I'm leaving for Springfield later today. I hope you are having a wonderful time, and I can't wait to see all of your pages! ITA with Linda. Abby will ignore whoever comes to feed her, and then when you come home she will ignore YOU. Just for awhile. But enough to say, "See. THIS is what it is like to be left alone." Linda, I hope your pain is not as bad today. Take your time to rest so that you can function better later. Would love to crop on line with you during the week at some time. These days, it is hard for me to plan ahead, though. Dh is helping his nephew with animals and the neighbours with harvesting, but then when he is home he often needs me to help him with projects, or we make plans to do garden work outside. Might be able to set something up for September 21st/22nd, as I will be at dd's while she & hubby will both be away, and dgs will be in school, so I am planning to scrapbook during the day. NOTE TO SELF: start putting together some page kits for this!!! I see you and nylene are getting lots of pages done with the sketches. Great to see them come to life on rectangular pages instead of square. I have more sketches "done" than I thought I would, but then I have had a couple of days at home uninterrupted. I am off to town this morning. Need to vote in an advance poll since I will be gone the day of the Federal election. And I need to pick up the mail and grab some groceries for the weekend. Dd is preparing for her next big exam, so her hubby is bringing dgs here for the weekend. This time should be a little less tiring for me, as Dad will be here to do the parenting. I just need to do some fun things with them. Okay. Gotta run. TTYL.

joyfulnana - so happy for you, have a BLAST at your crop, and I hope you feel energized to create this weekend! I agree, Abby will be angry - although 3 days isn't a long trip and my cats are usually ok with shorter periods like that. She might give you the cold shoulder for a day or two; at the worst, she'll pee on your bed Linda - sorry the joints are flared up. I'm achy today because it's Friday, and work kicked my butt this week. It's a blessing that it keeps me moving/strong, but it does get harder as I get older. I'm in awe of those of you keeping up with Sketchtember...that was me last year...I wish I could identify what is causing me to be so lethargic in scrapbooking in this year. kellyr21 - I am thinking of you today at the opening!!! I'm counting down to the bit S&CT "cards" event Oct. 1/2/3 and I can't wait! Got my box in the mail on Tuesday, and I'm not sure whether to open it now or wait for the "unboxing event" in a couple of weeks. So far, I haven't peeked.

Alex and family returned last night and are all safe and ok. It was a terrible time to travel with Covid numbers up, but it couldn't be helped. It's nice to know they are safe at home. Alex is staying away for at least 10 days in case of exposure. I'll be glad when he is old enough for the vaccine. I have been doing a lot of scrapping, but find I get easily frustrated. I find sketches are hard for me. Sometimes they turn out great and I'm glad I tried, other times I wonder what I was thinking! LOL. I am getting a lot of layouts put into my albums. Linda , I hope you are feeling better. Is winter harder on your joints than summer? I hope you can find relief. I was just looking at my calendar and don't have anything urgent on the 21st and 22nd. Maybe we can get an Online crop set up with grammadee . She knows how to do it. I'll keep in touch. kellyr21 , I hope the opening night is wonderful. Be sure to take photos. What an honor that is for you! joyfulnana , I have been thinking about you and hoping you are having a great time and learning lots of new things. Have fun. kitbop, I must have been typing as you posted. I have been working on your #8 sketch today. I hope it turns out somewhat like the sketch. Your page is so gorgeous with that background.

Thank you all. nylene - hurricane season is worst on my joints - for some reason when there is a tropical storm/hurricane brewing, the joints tend to flare. It doesn't really get cold enough here for the cold to bother me much. kitbop - I'm sure it's tough by the end of the week. nylene and grammadee - that sounds like a good plan
