PLurker I love that! I made peace with the leotard! Lots of videos and I used my walking foot and stretch needle. Discovered that my machine does multiple stretch stitches. You can’t see the hem but trust me! It’s flat, not ruffled, and looks awesome! I’m a bit full of myself over this. Lol. She has already been told it is to be worn for gym only and not appropriate for school by any stretch of the imagination.

Thanks malibou and seaexploreI have a container full of them (handles) from farm. Gramps saved everything. And I have a few old window frames/barn sashes from there. I may marry the two and have "flowers" showing/growing/framed by the windows. Maybe drill small holes in bottom edge sash and "plant" them there. I one for each kid. But I'm still in the thinking about it stage so plans may change. Adorable outfit (and kiddo) seaexplore I was never much into sewing but enough that I can imagine the troubles with stretching knits

Swarovski is no longer making crystals so once they're gone.... That's bad news. :-( (It's because Joan Rivers died a few years ago, right? I used to buy her jewelry and it always had Swarovski crystals. OK, not sure that's why... but it could be.) I just love your pieces. -- Congratulations on the leotard cut-down. @patter - cute pillow! Just T - clueless about a Lucy pattern. Care to fill me in? PLurker - oddly enough, what to do with a bunch of old spigot handles has not ever been one of my concerns. (My statement would make more sense if you ever saw the stuff my husband had.) Love your plaque! That old hardware - especially from a grandparent - is so cool. As for me... well, I figured the 20th anniversary of 911 was reason enough to start something new. I think I'll be able to just use yarn I already have. And, since I couldn't wait for it to begin officially, I went ahead and bought Tinna's new Amma CAL and have already started. Woo Hoo! I've already cut down 6 1/3 Caron skinny cakes I had bought on clearance - what a lot of work that is! - and am half way through my first square. I used to quilt. A lot. I've lost all of it and this pattern feels like I'm bringing that circle back around to something I loved so much. Thanks for this thread. I really, really, really have needed this goal this week.

I seriously have a huge stash of beads that I need to use. I don’t think it’s because of Joan Rivers. I read it a few months back and can’t remember. But I’m sad. I don’t think it’s because of Joan Rivers. I just made that up, but I'm pretty sure it's true anyway. Well, I've been inspired by y'all to begin the new Tinna CAL in a scrap quilt way. Maybe I should start thinking about what I can buy from you. Besides losing all my quilts, fabric and all the stuff that comes with it, I lost pretty much all my jewelry and haven't had the heart to replace anything. Plus, this house gets light all day long that make rainbows when beams hit crystals. Let me think on it a bit. Maybe I'll come up with something.

kellyr21 is it weird to say I'm proud of you, cuz I kinda am! Congrats on the art display. It's gorgeous. Today I finally took some of that vintage Michigan Rag fishy sailcloth and set out to make a headboard for my eldest. Even with the kitties "helping", I got the cloth and padding part into the plywood backing. It's about 3' x 5'. Since their bed is a king, I plan on framing wood extensions on both sides to bring it to size and then adding a shelf on top kind of like my door headboard. Maybe similar reading lights too. We'll see. I have to go buy a few pieces of longer furring strips (cheap and rustic, they're like the pieces around my door headboard) Anyway, knowing me it will either be done tomorrow or by Christmas. 2021 or 2022...lol Photo of fishy sailcloth piece and my headboard for reference.

leftturnonly, not Just T but Lucy is Lucy of Attic24, most of her patterns are available as kits on woolwarehouse. She is really good at colour combos. You can check her out on Ravlery and see how people have used her kits, not just to follow her pattern but to create their own design. I think I've made four of her patterns, cosy, dune, coast and woodland. She just released a free Christmas pattern today attic24.typepad.com/It is my plan, at some point, to make one of her wreaths, I really like them.

I think I've made four of her patterns, cosy, dune, coast and woodland. She just released a free Christmas pattern today attic24.typepad.com/It is my plan, at some point, to make one of her wreaths, I really like them. I wondered if that was the Lucy you guys were talking about. I love her site! I think maybe I've used some of her ideas... I know I've looked at her patterns, especially her ripple blankets. I know I haven't used her colors, and that's a big part of what I like about her work. In fact, it's because of her patterns and peas on these threads that I learned about DK weight yarn and began picking some up. Nearly all that I've gotten has been in big yarn cakes with other colors - which is fine - but, it's not like just picking up pretty skeins and diving right in. I went ahead and bought Tinna's new Amma CAL and cut up a bunch of cakes for that. Those color segments may look like they end abruptly, and sometimes they do, but they tend to change before they hit those hard breaks. You end up with a lot of little balls of color, and since those big cakes repeat colors, those little balls end up with a lot of little knots. So it really is a commitment. I see now why Tinna has used DK 3 weight in the videos I've watched. A lot of these stitches end up layered on top of other stitches and 4 weight makes for heavy work. Funny much I disliked DK weight when I first bought it and how much more I appreciate it now. Amma is perfect for lots of small amounts of color if you want to make scrap blocks. I'm finishing my 5th block now. I haven't decided how many I'm going to make or if I'm going to border each block, so I guess I should say that I've made 5 blocks up to the middle size. I'm not following Tinna's colorways, but I am using her photos as a hue guide with my own variations thrown in. The benefit/blessing of trying to only use what you have. I've never bought a kit like Lucy has. I bet they're a joy to work with!

Anyway, knowing me it will either be done tomorrow or by Christmas. 2021 or 2022...lol --- Can't wait to see how it turns out!
