Here's my monthly shawl club shawl so far. Pretty colors! That would be a fabulous gift for your mom. My mom treasured anything we made for her... including the tiny clay Santa figurine I made in elementary school that she still displayed 5 decades later and after it had lost a few parts. She wouldn't let me throw it out or take it out of her special box.

jeremysgirl - it's really lovely, all woodsy and earthy. Have you enough yarn to make it bigger? I still have four more months of yarn coming. I estimate when done it will be between 63-65 inches across. Which should be fine. But I am a love it big kind of shawl and wrap girl. It's really pretty though and I have absolutely enjoyed doing it. My mom's birthday is mid-January and I never know what to give her. She is literally the lady who has everything she wants. So I thought this might make a nice gift for her. That's perfect then!

I don't quilt but adore them as my Gram quilted (all by hand/no sewing machine) so I do a lot of admiring. This one came up on my feed... I call it Puddle Jumper but that's just me. I love it. Can't all you moms see your kids in that?

Here's my monthly shawl club shawl so far. Now that I'm four months away from done, I'm getting a little nervous that it isn't going to be nearly as long as I'd like it. I might give it to my mom for her birthday in January. I'm not sure I want to keep it for myself. Although I do enjoy the colors. I love that!

PLurker, what a neat quilt! I love the reflection in the puddle. I love looking at art quilts but I haven't fired up my imagination to create one yet.

I am considering joining Lucy's latest crochet along, the Yuletide blanket. I've crocheted many of her blankets before, but in my own colors, or adapted them as baby blankets, etc. I have never participated in a crochet along, or purchased one of her yarn packs, but I love the colors in this blanket, and I need a good crochet distraction, so on the 14th when the yarn pack goes on sale, I'm going to buy it. I doubt I will have it finished by Christmas, but the colors of the blanket will look good in my house, and it's not super Christmas-y. Is anyone else planning to do it?

You piqued my interest and I had a look, she doesn't appear to have posted on her blog yet but I saw a facebook post. It looks like a good project for Autumn. It's not a crochet along so you can go at your own pace, given it seems an easy repeat type of pattern you should progress nicely and may surprise yourself and have it ready for Christmas. I'm already doing a Christmas blanket, Letitia 's holiday, so I need to get that done. Hope you enjoy making it and spend Christmas snuggled under it.

This free shawl pattern arrived in my in box earlier today and I loved it so much I've already downloaded and printed it off. I'm hoping yarn I had earmarked for a different pattern will do for this! It will be my next project if so.

We already have plans for our next two baskets! One from a pattern (see last photo below) That Santa Fe Five basket reminds me so much of an antique Choctaw basket that I have. It used to belong to my great grandfather and I couldn't believe no one wanted it when we cleared out mom's house! I scooped it up and it lives with me now. All your baskets are fantastic! You have a talent for them.

Gracious, how are you girls up to page 4 already? I have had a busy, busy month thus far but I AM taking time for me today. So, I finished this little piece. The church pattern is in an old Leisure Arts Christmas book. I modified it a little bit to be my church. I also hand dyed my twill. And then I followed instructions by Hands on Design to make my pillow. I stuffed it with crushed walnut shells and poly fill.

Another weekend rolls around. . I love the shawl progress jeremysgirl it's going to be gorgeous! If you don't love it, I'm sure your mom will. @patter I did SO MUCH cross stitch once upon a time. Years ago, I had a bee up my butt and made a golden girls one for a past student. She's 31 but LOVES them! I made her cry when I gave it to her. I really should get back into it. It's portable and fun. I need to get new glasses first since I can't see anything clearly anymore. Sucks to get old! LOL I made another sun catcher for my daughter's friend. I think I already mentioned that. It's really pretty! I'll get a pic later. My DD has shot up 4" in the past year but is skinny so her leotards for gymnastics are all too short for her. She's asked me to cut and hem one of them that the leg elastic is shot on (can't pass it along to someone damaged) so she can wear it as a top with gym shorts. I DETEST sewing on stretch material and have never done so successfully. This should be an adventure. I do have the proper needle for it so there's that. AND she wants to wear it Monday for her level up try outs. Nothing like a bit of pressure!

While I have your attention, my brother asked me to thank you again. The extra bits you sent him he used to spruce up his studio space. He said he gets tons of compliments on it. Thank you.

seaexplore, yes it really is nice to take with me. I have been cross stitching since about 1980. Eeek! I put it down for many years but I did teach one of my girls. She LOVES to do it, and has done may Paula Vaughn pieces. I finally have a good "neck light" and my reading glasses so I can stitch on 14 count. Anything smaller than that now is very hard for me. And BTW, I hate sewing in stretchy fabric also. I had to fix one of my daughter's dresses last weekend. It was stretchy fabric with elastic for gathering the skirt in several places. I hate working with stuff like that. Thankfully it wasn't too bad off.

They are very pretty. I would love to try my hand at them. Thank you. If you can do wire wrapping, they're really easy. I have so many beads just sitting around not being used. GOBS of glass. I'm using up my swarovski stash too. Swarovski is no longer making crystals so once they're gone.... There are other brands out there but these are amazing. Anyway- I would like to try a catcher with pearls. I've got lots of those too. Yes, I have a HUGE bead stash. As well as paper and vinyl and fabric and and and. I might have a problem. LOL
