Good morning, ladies, and welcome to September! This year is passing in a flash. I actually got out my boring beige WIP yesterday. The shawl cardigan. I wanted to put the armholes in. I am thinking since it's such a boring project in a boring color (but will be very functional when I'm done) that I may just take that on my camping trip and finish up. since it's basically two rows repeated, I think I can take it on the trip and finish it without having to look up any more instructions. So that's a plus. Just a mindless campfire project. I got a cool book light that wraps around my neck that is perfect for camping and crocheting in the dark. I may just leave the pink yarn until I get home from the trip. It's really more of a spring color so as long as I have something pretty to wear for spring, then I am all set. So I may hold off until after Christmas. My monthly shawl club yarn came this week and I'll post a pic below. Every month they send a bit of yarn along with a shawl pin. I was like what can I do with all these pins. How to store them? My good friend JoP came up with a brilliant idea yesterday. I am going to crochet a panel and then put it in a frame and poke my pins through it. The great news about it is that I'll have a pretty framed crocheted piece to hang in my craft room which desperately needs decoration. And then I can actually see and use the pins as I need them. I have yarn left from my Waroo shawl that will coordinate with my magenta wall color perfectly. And yesterday gillyp showed off this beautiful autumn blanket. I'll post a pic below. The pattern was just released yesterday and it is stunning. Let's all encourage her to make it because it's so beautiful. Happy crafting, ladies!

Hello jeremysgirl and everyone who comes to my favourite thread! I love that you get such sweet pins with your Club yarn jeremysgirl and even better that you have decided to display them. They are too pretty and interesting to languish in a drawer. I am still plodding on with my meow/woof blanket. I’ve only been managing about two rows a day. Providing holiday cover at work and needing to do a tax return meant I was too tired for much down time. Things will improve shortly, I’m sure. I don’t think I need much encouragement to make that autumnal blanket! I love it. The design and that colour way is very calming imho. It might find itself 3rd or 4th on the to do list. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s makes!

I'm glad you don't need much encouragement on the blanket. I love the colors and can't wait to see that one come together.

I love your idea for pins! There was a time when my friends were making beaded hatpins and I had no idea what to do with them. This would have been perfect.

jeremysgirl - I love that blanket and would make it in a heartbeat if (a) I crocheted and (b) I made blankets of any kind. I sort of lost my mojo in August, and didn't get a lot of anything done. Partly, I was waiting for DH to arrange to take the desk and chair he borrowed from work during lockdown back, so I could reclaim my craft space. Somehow, in the waiting time, I couldn't get motivated to craft on the desk I've been using in that time, in case I suddenly needed to clean it all up. Well - everything is going back this weekend, and I have cleared DH's regular desk, which I've been using. Once I get sorted I hope to get scrapbooking again. My knitting also suffered, even though it doesn't need the desk, but I've gotten to the fun part of my current cardigan, so I am working on it more the past few days.

I haven't been inspired lately for anything. We're finishing our basement and there is a designated craft space down there for me, but right now all my stuff is packed in boxes and in closets. I do have yarn for some chunky blankets that I'm making for Christmas - I just need to sit down and do it, but I can't get motivated enough when it's 90 degrees outside. I do stalk this thread every month and love all the talent we have on this board. jeremysgirl - do tell, what is the monthly shawl club?? I might need that in my life.

jeremysgirl, loving the selection of pins you are receiving. The idea to show them off is lovely. I will be interested to hear how you get on with your neck light, I have one on my Amazon wish list but I haven't pushed the button yet. I started my Christmas blanket early, had planned to begin today but was able to start a few weeks ago. It's this one, which jeremysgirl has already made, I'm up to the snowflakes(?). I'm doing the bright colours. www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/letitias-holiday-calThe designer has a summer blanket based on gardens, and I'm tempted as I like the flowers and water fountain but I have no idea what the top pattern represents. www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/letitias-gardenThe autumn blanket is great too.

jeremysgirl - do tell, what is the monthly shawl club?? I might need that in my life. Jimmy Beans Wool has a monthly shawl club where they send you a bit of yarn each month and you do it little by little, month by month and at the end of the year, have a nice shawl. Each monthly yarn bundle comes with a new shawl pin.

Jeremysgirl. I love the idea of displaying the shawl pins.
I love that autumn blanket. Really love it. If I thought I could actually do it I would go for it. I need to learn to do this. Of course thanks to last months thread I have a few shawls to make lol. I need to do those plus finish a few other projects. I also need to make a shadow box with my sons graduation pictures. I made one for my MIL but never made mine. I also have a ton of scrapbook kits to do, layouts that need pictures and some cards to make. Last year I bought some yarn to make some knit Christmas ornaments but waited too long and never got to them.
I’m hoping to get something done this month as the last few I have had no energy and not even enough energy to read.

I use this neck light when necessary. It does the job and in the main I only need one side lit at any one time. Is this the one you have jeremysgirl? I went to Ravelry with a view to buying the autumnal blanket pattern but l’ve held off just for now. I’m pretty sure I will get it but the designer doesn’t seem to be as experienced as Tinna or Rosina Plane, for example. She’s only providing charts, which isn’t a big deal as I would work from a chart anyway but she mentions different stitches and says she’s provided links to other designers’ YouTubes etc rather than explain them herself. I guess I’m holding back a bit to see if experienced crocheters make any comments. I think maybe I think it’s a bit of a cheek charging as much as an experienced designer but not - seemingly - providing the amount of information they do. That said it only costs a few £. Tinna is releasing a CAL tomorrow, I believe. Maybe I’m holding back for that.

But I'm so bogged down with projects right now that I can't even think of adding another.

I want to join that shawl of the month club just to get a pin. LOL They will release next year's mid December. However I think this year's is still available if you want to play catch up: www.jimmybeanswool.com/knitting/yarn/JimmyBeansWool/2021MadelinetoshShawlClub.aspYou get a bit of yarn each month to make one shawl for the year and a different pin each month. I will see if I can post a pic of all my pins this evening.
