Happy September to the Divas! MARIBETHR , @zingermack, grammadee , boymom5 , schroema , ComplicatedLady , azcrafty, AussieMeg, jjpeapea, natscraps, scrappyrabbit, gmcwife1, grammaI'm very much hoping that this month will turn things around for my mojo. Like the school year, I'm hoping to start fresh! Sketchtember is always a huge push for me - not only do I need to post 4 sketches, but 2 out of 3 of the past Sketchtembers I did manage to do them all. Anyone else trying for that? How is the start of the month treating you? Do you have big back-to-school plans/projects? My DD starts university next week, and characteristically for her she is procrastinating preparation until next week... stressing her poor mama out Have you purchased new supplies lately? I really want some of the new Paige Evans "Bungalow lane" stuff, but have yet to pull the trigger. I am signed up for "Crop and Create", and the card class uses many different inks. So participants have been chatting about all the ink they are buying, leaving me very much with a FOMO feeling...even tho I know I could make due with my current inks! The urge to buy more is so strong tho This weekend will hopefully be creative for me. DH is going to a boys weekend, and while I will have tons of chores that have been neglected, and will join them for a beach party, I hope to get quiet time to create. My goal this long weekend: complete 3 sketches. What are your long weekend plans??? Hoping to chit chat lots this month as we enjoy a sketchy month!

I did nothing in August except get my "sketches" and examples done. Zip - Nada - Zero!!! I'm hoping Sketchtember will get me started.
The prize I am offering will be based on the number of sketches completed. Every time one is done and posted your name will go into a drawing. Finish 20 sketches your name goes in 20 times. Then I'll have DH draw a name. I won't participate in this one. But maybe my competitive nature will kick in anyway. ;-)
I miss chatting - Maybe I'll start a Saturday crop/chat. Waddaya think?

Where did August go? I just submitted my pocket page scrapbooking pictures for printing (shipped) and I only have one pocket page to fill (both sides, 16 photos). Usually I fill two or three pocket pages. It was hot and I guess we spent time just staying out of the heat. Yesterday the remnants of Ida dumped 4 inches of rain on my house, but everything is OK here. Not even anything in the basement. Early August my friend gave me boxes and boxes of CTMH items. I used one set on my Sketchtember 1. I also got some new Stampin' Up supplies - red and green paper to get ready for Christmas, cute patterned paper and Gingerbread and Peppermint paper, stamps and dies. I finally got a manual die cutter. I resisted because the electronic one is so versatile but I am liking the manual one. Now where to keep it? I'm hoping to do most of the Sketchtember challenges. I printed pictures for #2 at a local one hour printing (pick up). Many of them are comically bad. I know there was a discussion of where to get prints recently, I won't be getting them at this place again. I used to use Walmart and they were OK, but my local Walmart stopped offering the service. kitbop is this DD's first time at a university? gramma I also hope Sketchtember helps me find some scrappy fun.

I didn't get a lot of scrapping done in August, because I was traveling as well as coming off of a big move. We are settled into our new place now and don't have plans for the month of September, so let the scrapping begin! I am excited for Sketchtember, but I don't expect to complete all the sketches. I hope to complete half. I also am setting myself another goal of not buying anything new for scrapping this month!
Question about the points- if we are counting easy peasy, and we do a 12x12, that's 20 points, plus any extras assigned for the sketch and twist? If it is a two page layout, do we count the extras for the sketch/twist twice?

Hello team! I will not be crafting this weekend as I’m camping Friday thru Monday. Today is my day to pack and load the RV, grocery shop and any pre-cooking. I just got back from the gym and I’m not sure what will get done now, I’m exhausted! I do have a crafty retreat next week, Wednesday thru Sunday. In March I made 80 cards at my retreat, I’m hoping to make closer to 100 this time. But I do leave for the gym 3 times and will have to come home to take care of the dogs. But I’m still looking forward to crafting. I seem to have too many hobbies now and not enough time for all of them. I haven’t crafted since spring I did sign up for the October Crop and Create too so hopefully I can craft in both September and October! I will not be doing much shopping. At my last dog show a few of us decided to go to our dog breed National next year. So all my fun money will be going into training classes and trialing my dog this next year. And saving for the trip! I’ll be driving my RV down to California for it. I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend and gets to enjoy some crafting time!

Hello Diva's!
I did the sample for SKETCHtember #1 and managed to complete a LO for #2, but don't think I will get a chance to do much more until Tuesday at the earliest. I love sketches. Picked up, mid-August, a bunch of things I had pre-ordered at the LSS. And I am planning to place an order at SU! Have a ton of photos to scrap. And have just finished watching a bunch of card making classes. So no lack of things to do or photos to scrap or techniques to use. Just need a little time...
No plans for crafting this weekend. We are grandparenting an 8 year old out here at the farm. Then we have a few days off before we have people here for the weekend after that. And meanwhile, the garden...
Quick reminder to everyone to get your challenges into the September challenges thread. Always room for a few more!

I'm very excited about Sketchtember! I will try to get as many sketches done as possible, but there's no way I will be able to get them all done.
Latest purchases...... August was Penny Saver month at The Digital Press, which means they sell every new release and a whole lot of old stuff, for just $1. All throughout the month they keep adding products to the sale. I had quite a bit in my shopping cart, but thought I would wait until the very last day before buying, just in case something else that I wanted dropped in. Well can you guess what happened? I forgot about it until September 1st! Luckily a few of the things in my cart were still $1, but the two kits that I really wanted most of all had already been put up to full price. Bummer! Next time I will just buy what I like as soon as it drops in. They hold the sale twice a year, so the next one is in February.
The first weekend of the every month is BYOC at The Lilypad, and all new releases are on sale. I will wait to get my discount code from Just Jaimee and buy all of her new offerings for a big discount. I hope that the colours are nice this month. I usually don't buy much from September through to January because it's autumn and winter up there and I really don't like fall colours. It's spring and summer here so I want pretty pastels and bright colours!

September is usually my month! I’m off to a retreat next week so I know I’ll get some done for sure! I’ve been out of creativity, but I’ll be taking some Allison Davis classes while there and I’m hoping it’ll spark something. Plus it’ll be nice to get away!
I’m not sure I’ll be doing any crafting this weekend. I have packing to do and I need to make DS a shirt. Beyond that I need to finish planning our school year since we start the day after I get back.
Oh and I’ve been stocking up on so many goodies for the retreat. I love that SG does the stock up option so when I get there next week I’ll have a like of fun new things to play with. I need to remind myself of that when packing!

Wooohoooo!! Now even more reason for me to be excited! Yyyaaayyyyy! Is the event open to the public? Yes, dog shows are generally open to the public Due to covid they were canceled for most of 2020 and then the first half of 2021 they were not open to spectators. But now they are open and should still allow spectators next year. A National is special because it’s all of that one breed so this will be all Samoyeds. And it has a lot of different dog events like obedience, agility and weight pull.

I am hoping to do most of the sketches. Even on day 4 I can tell it’s sparking my creativity which was in desperate need of a jump start.
I spent a lot on supplies in July and august due to the Ohio shop hop so I’m working on getting that stuff put away. I did a big organization last summer and have a few areas (paper and stickers mostly) that need refined so hoping to work on that this month.

I’m baaack! This weekend is still filled with work stuff as first day of school is Tuesday but the next 2 Saturdays I have crops to go to! Looking forward to finally having free time again. I’ve missed my scrap room so much this past month. Peeked at the challenges and I’m going to rack up points just in being frozen, crops and photo printing

gmcwife1 - If I lived anywhere close, a dog show + meeting a pea would be heaven for me! However...the owners of the spruced up dogs would probably not enjoy me crawling around throwing my arms around every dog I met I have not yet attacked a single sketch this month, even my own! Tomorrow is for that. I am up to date on my scrapbook generations sketch class however (finished that this evening). It was nice to see natscraps and gramma in the virtual crop this evening! For all the rest of the Divas - come jump into a virtual crop with us if you can! It's very informal. Sometimes grammadee even just pokes her head in to say "hi" and then leaves because she has something she calls "chores" or "grandchildren" But I really find I can get more done because the company keeps me in my seat. The only drawback is that there are often members of the other team there too There was chatter of starting up a meet on Monday if anybody wants to join - keep an eye on the boards for a virtual crop!

Then on weekday mornings when I am all alone in my scraproom, you ladies invent "work" so you don't have to play with me then...

Oh no, you don't invent them...you just amaze me with your attention to everything on your long list, but never leaving out kindness/friendship! Now work...I would ignore for you happily if I could

Just checking in so you all know I did not abandon you, we just have crummy internet at the retreat house! I’m not as productive as I was in March so I’ve only completed 44 cards. I have a going away dinner to go to tonight and then we pack up tomorrow. So crossing my fingers I can do another 10 cards. I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend

I’m not as productive as I was in March so I’ve only completed 44 cards This just makes me LOL...It took me a week to make 22 cards for my coworkers last year! You are a rock star! Hope you are having a good time no matter how many your final total is. I'm finally working on my first sketchtember sketch. Typically, a sketch makes my process faster. I was hoping to get a couple done today. Then, die cutting and mixed media happened. 2 hours later, I'm STILL struggling to put together a page I like. I'll look at it again tomorrow and consider giving up on the "twist" part of the sketch if it makes me happier. I am *not* a monochromatic scrapbooker, and I might not be able to make it work. I need to keep things simpler!!!

I can totally relate My whole group teases me because I used to make a card a day I have been doing Cards for Soldiers and using sheetload of cards so I can do more mass production. It has really helped me get over my perfectionist tendencies!

I have totally surprised myself by completing all 12 sketches so far. I had no intention of even trying because I didn't think I'd have a hope of doing it. I actually have a week off work later this month, and it looks like we will still be in lockdown by then, so I guess I will have even more time to scrap seeing we can't go anywhere.

The twists are fun, but totally secondary for me. I have no problem ignoring the twists if it doesn't suit my page. I have a hard enough time finding photos and papers for my layouts, I don't need the added stress of trying to get the twist on every page! Heck, the only reason I've managed to get the twist on both of my pages is because I made them up and made sure my page had them haha!

I am tired but I have a pile of LOs done from the retreat I went to this weekend. I’m on my way home now and will count them up. I had three days to be creative and I completely forgot about the sketches on here! I’m not sure I’ll get time like that again soon but I at least got a bunch done!

September is almost half over. It's going by quickly for me. We've had some great weather here. I've had a lot of fun trying out the sketches of Sketchtember, and seeing what other responders share. I appreciate every sharing! I'll have to make time to reserve a "spot" and start tracking points.
