Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene on Saturday shared a letter written by jailed Captiol rioter Nathan DeGrave, in which he claims he was a "non violent" participant in the Jan. 6 insurrection.

In the letter, shared by his attorney on Twitter, DeGrave also claims that the military gear he wore to the Capitol was a "costume" for a documentary he was shooting. DeGrave called his letter — which was also published by the National Filed website — "a cry for help" due to "inhumane" conditions at the D.C. jail, which he compared to Guantanamo Bay.

"There are no words," Rep. Greene wrote Saturday above the text of DeGrave's letter. "I'll be back at that jail this week."

Huffington Post reporter Ryan J. Reilly, who's been covering Capitol riot court cases, responded to DeGrave's letter by posting images and video of him inside the Capitol.

Reilly noted that according to a federal judge, "Mr. DeGrave entered the Capitol building and engaged in violence directed at Capitol Police officers as they tried to secure the building."

"DeGrave, decked out in his battled gear, was so aggressive about chasing down that last security officer that other members of the mob held him back," Reilly wrote above one of the videos. "In summary, you might say he's a bit of an unreliable narrator."

In another video, DeGrave can be heard saying, ""I punched this guy like five times in the f*ckin' head. He didn't see my face, though."

Lauren Boebert jokes about bringing explosives to Capitol building to destroy metal detectors

Bobert's tweeted her suggestion in response to a speech given by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) on Sunday in which he endorsed the idea of blowing up the metal detectors that were installed to stop members from bringing deadly weapons into the building in the wake of the January 6th Capitol riots.

"I said, man, is it... C4 we want to put in those metal detectors and we blow 'em up," Gaetz said at the rally.

Boebert sent out a tweet offering to bring explosives of her own.


Boebert has taken heavy criticism from many of her fellow lawmakers for heavily promoting the January 6th "Stop the Steal" rally that she predicted would lead to a second American Revolution.

Boebert also mysteriously tweeted out updates on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's location as the riots were occurring.

"The Speaker has been removed from the chambers," she wrote after rioters had broken into the Capitol.

The Texas Medical Board has taken a "corrective action" against Dr. Stella Immanuel, the infamous Trump-loving Houston doctor who has in the past spouted theories about demons impregnating human women during their sleep and about physicians using "alien DNA" to treat their patients.

The Houston Chronicle reports that the board took the action in response to Immanuel prescribing hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19 "without adequately explaining the health consequences" to her patients.

In an Oct. 15 decision, the medical board ordered Immanuel to submit proof of informed consent — or permission given by a patient who understands the possible health outcomes — for all off-label treatments she provides," writes the Chronicle. "She must adopt policies that require all consent documents to be reviewed and signed by the patient for off-label treatment. She also must pay $500 to the medical board."

On Monday, KVUE reported that a woman from Buda, Texas was arrested after allegedly pointing a loaded-gun at a 7-year-old out trick-or-treating.

"The Hays County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to the 100 block of Quarter Ave. around 7:20 p.m. Deputies determined a resident in the area was yelling at children who were walking outside her house trick-or-treating," reported KVUE's Jeff Bell. "The HCSO said 35-year-old Monica Ann Bradford exited her residence with a loaded weapon and pointed it at a 7-year-old."

According to the report, Bradford has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Hays County Jail with bail set at $10,000.

Wood, the Georgia defamation lawyer who has floated some of the fringiest of fringe theories about ex-President Donald Trump’s 2020 election loss, posted a note on the Telegram messaging app over the weekend blasting Greene and claiming she still owed him for previous legal work.

But it turns out that Wood was not representing his former ally in her personal capacity. Instead, his services went to Greene’s campaign committee as it fought two defamation disputes. Worse still for Greene is Wood’s claim that the Greene campaign has never paid him, raising a number of questions about the legality of their arrangement.

Republicans have new idea to fix labor shortage: Loosen child labor laws

It's not exactly a new strategy. Businesses hiring minimum-wage employees across the country have advertised their use of teenagers to plug the holes in their workforce for months, especially fast-food chains like Chipotle, Burger King and McDonalds, among others. Seasonal work in tourism-heavy industries like amusement parks have also doubled-down on the strategy.

But at least two states, Wisconsin and Ohio, are now pushing for new laws that would allow 14- and 15-year-olds to work longer hours — the most brazen attempts to expand American businesses' use of teenage labor in decades.

Likewise, the Wisconsin Senate last month also passed a bill which would allow businesses to hire 14- and 15-year-olds to work from 6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weeknights or 11 p.m. on weekends. The measure would only apply to businesses which run less than $500,000 in sales annually and aren't governed by a federal statute known as the Fair Labor Standards Act.

If approved by the state Assembly, which appears likely, its fate will lie with Democratic Gov. Tony Evers. It remains unclear whether he will veto the measure or not.

It's just the latest attempt in a long line of Republican-led changes to the state's child labor code over the last decade, according to an analysis in The Guardian. In 2011, Wisconsin eliminated limits on the number of hours — and days — that minors aged 16-17 could work, and even replaced the phrase "child labor" in state law with "employment of minors" in 2017.

The most recent changes have attracted support from a number of powerful service-industry lobbies, such as the Wisconsin Restaurant Association, who say it will help to solve businesses' staffing issues and teach teenagers a healthy work ethic.

On the other side, the measure has attracted ire from the AFL-CIO and a number of the state's high-profile Democrats, who uniformly appear to oppose the bill.

"It's a nice workaround," state Sen. Chris Larson, D-Milwaukee, told WISN-TV last month. "I think in reality if those employers are looking for workers, what frankly the market should dictate is they should be raising wages, offering additional benefits."
