For Mondays this month, I'll be giving you a list of card "ingredients"-- measurements for all the paper elements you're going to need to put together a clean and simple card. Then, you can either assemble your card according to the instructions/photo, or play around with the arrangement as you see fit. I will be putting the card photo and any assembly instructions in a SPOILER BOX in case you would like to try assembling your card with just the ingredients. It also keeps my photos from taking up all the space on your screen until you're ready to see them. Of course, as with all recipes, you should feel free to make alterations, additions, and other adjustments as you see fit-- just try to make sure we can get a sense of the original in your creation. (If I'm making egg rolls, please don't make a chocolate cake. LOL.) As a twist/added challenge: break out those stamp sets that haven't seen ink yet! If you are not a stamper, then use some other supply that hasn't yet been opened-- a new paper pad, a new pack of embellishments, etc. If you are playing for points, grammadee has scoring instructions as part of the printable list. If you complete all FOUR of my recipe challenges this month, give yourself 31 bonus points, because why not? I had some computer difficulties trying to get this posted Sunday night, so I will be checking back on last week's recipe Monday night. I haven't forgotten!Cardtober #11 Recipe
Note that all measurements are given as LENGTH by HEIGHT; however, this will really only matter if you use a patterned paper that has a specific orientation, so you may want to consult the recipe image before cutting. Measurements are imperial; if you need them converted to metric, let me know and I will get out the magical conversion calculator. This card is an A2 (4.25" x 5.5") horizontal card. I recommend selecting patterned paper first so you can more easily coordinate your cardstock and base. Ingredients
* One A2 card base (This week, I made mine from coordinating cardstock.) * 5" x 3.75" white panel (A in the photo) * 5.25" x 4" solid cardstock (B) * 5" x .75" patterned paper (C) * 5" x 1.25" patterned paper (D) * 5" x .25" patterned paper (E) * 5" x .375" (3/8") of glitter/foil/specialty paper or ribbon/trim (F) (I used glitter ribbon. Regular cardstock is fine, too.) * a die cut image, about 2" long (height will vary) (G) (could be a piece of ephemera, could be something you stamp and cut out) * Recommended: a horizontal sentiment stamp. DirectionsThe "trick" for this original was that the fancy cardstock/trim goes over the largest patterned paper. I did not use a new stamp set (this one is a Waffle Flower/Simon Says Stamp from Stamptember a couple of years ago) BUT that's because I really wanted to use this cute (unopened) patterned paper from My Favorite Things. And it turned out I didn't really have any good Halloween stamps, so I turned to this set. I'm also pretty proud of how my star sequins look suitably random-- something I really struggle with when placing embellishments! Here is the image with the labels.

Eddie-n-Harley I resisted again, and enjoyed comparing my card to the reveal. I hid mine and my comments under a spoiler so others could have a reveal too. It was interesting how much there was in common - the card wider than long, the strips all across, the image on the left and sentiment on the right. And a sweet theme! I like how your card has the sparkle paper centered.

Eddie-n-Harley , this is really a fun challenge, although I had a bit of difficulty figuring out the die cut, and I decided to use a die cut sentiment instead of a stamped one, so I have two die cuts, no stamping. I used scraps from the papers that I used for the #10 challenge. I had no metallic ribbon that was the right width. Not sure if the ribbon that I used was the right width, but it was closer than anything else I had. I hid mine, too, but it was definitely a little different from yours. jjpeapea, your Christmas card is adorable. I love the sentiment and your die cut. azcrafty, your card is beautiful and elegant.

Eddie-n-Harley , I love your “roll” card. Your colored strips are perfect for the candy patterned paper. I love the candy roll you have stamped. Very fun and clever card. Thank you for the challenges this month. jjpeapea , your gingerbread boy card is really cute. I love his white frosting with touches of color. The sentiment is perfect. The glitter paper adds some Christmas sparkle. Adorable. azcrafty , your cards are so elegant. I left you love in the gallery. scrapnnana , your card is beautiful. I love the depth in your die cut rose and leaves. The font on hello is perfect. Everything works together. Lovely work. angel97701 , you are really getting a head start on your Christmas cards. I left you love in the gallery. Here is mine: I don't know how to do the spoiler, I'm sorry. ETA: I have never used that Paper Smooches set of stamps and I really like the gratitude sentiment. Thanks for making me use something that has been hanging around for years. With Gratitude

angel97701, I am loving all your pretty Christmas cards. Great use of scrap papers and washi. nylene, I love how you took very contrasting paper colors and brought them together with the die cut. It’s beautiful and well balanced with the sentiment in the upper right. iowagirl50147, that is a fun, cute card. I hate spiders almost as much as Nylene, but I don’t mind them on Halloween cards (maybe because they don’t move).

Here is mine: I don't know how to do the spoiler, I'm sorry. ETA: I have never used that Paper Smooches set of stamps and I really like the gratitude sentiment. Thanks for making me use something that has been hanging around for years. So, I actually got the idea for this challenge after I found some measurements I'd written down for a card... with no reference photo. I cut all the pieces out but could not for the life of me get anything to go together (I eventually caved and had to track down the image, and it was a good thing I did because I'd gotten the measurements all wrong. ) Anyway, no need to use the spoiler to post, but also totally okay for those who do. And I really, really, really love this card. It all just flows together so well!

Using Halloween scraps... That is also the face I would make if there were a spider on my cheek. Fun card!

azcrafty, how nice with nicely balanced touches of black, pink and gold. What a good message. scrapnnana I am liking your blue and yellow combinations. The white panel at the bottom - interesting. angel97701 such a sparkly, wintery mood. I like the angle of the sparkle strip at the bottom. nylene so cute and clean looking. Excellent response for the challenge. If you ever want to do a spoiler it is easy, just highlight the text and then click on the yellow face above that looks like a finger is saying "shhhh". iowagirl50147 that's adorable. The look on the pumpkin's face!

Love this recipe card! Using some old basic grey-a small 6x6 pad that was stuck is a page kit that I had already found. Lucky treasure!

Love this recipe card! Using some old basic grey-a small 6x6 pad that was stuck is a page kit that I had already found. Lucky treasure! That IS a lucky treasure! Love the color palette, and if you wrote that sentiment, I admire your handwriting! It looks just like a stamp. Even though I have taken a umber of calligraphy classes, I am just not that patient! I do have a number of stamps but I can not really find what I like in what I have either! But, the Cricut does allow a lot of freedom and font choices, so I let it do the work these days. I used to do a bit in Word and then print and punch or cutout, but the Cricut is quicker once you get the hang of it.,
