The term 'Let's Go Brandon' has exploded in conservative circles in recent weeks, after a reporter at a NASCAR race at the Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama seemed to mistake chants of 'F*** Joe Biden,' for 'Let's Go Brandon,' after Brandon Brown, a 28-year-old driver won his first Xfinity Series. Ooh, how shocking to hear that this originated in Talladega. How classy of them. No matter how much people detested TFG, I don't recall them using that language in a public place meant to celebrate sports. It's just ridiculous now. Sorry, but most of these assholes don't even realize how Joe Biden is impacting their lives in a positive way! Idiots! How exactly is #46 impacting my life in a positive way? I don’t see it!🤔🤔

College kids made videos of people chanting Fuck Joe Biden go viral. NASCAR fans did the same thing. I just think it’s silly for anyone to be like oh yea, of course NASCAR started it. But Lets go Brandon DID become a "thing" at nascar.... yes, every where dumb people have been shouting f joe biden... but lets go brandon was misreported at nascar... Soooo that means lets go brandon started at nascar... its not silly... it just is what happened

I have developed an insane amount of loyalty to Alaska Airlines this fall, but/and between this, Southwest’s failure to respond so far to this incident (at least from what I have seen), and their disastrous record of cancelling flights, I cannot imagine buying tickets on their airline any time in the foreseeable future.

It is the height of disrespect to be yelling this at games, wearing a shirt or hanging a “fuck joe Biden” flag on their house. The flags and shirts were bad enough but the chanting has got to stop.

The “Fuck your feelings” crowd delights fellow dimwits with a new meme. It kind of amuses me that they find their new slogan so uproariously funny. But it is a useful way of detecting who and what to avoid. I haven’t flown for awhile, but when I do, it won’t be on Southwest.

How exactly is #46 impacting my life in a positive way? I don’t see it!🤔🤔 He signed the Paris climate accord again and is working to combat climate change which affects everyone. He restored lands to National Parks and canceled the Keystone pipeline which would have damaged ecosystems, negatively impacted Native American communities and contributed to global warming. In the spring, the American Recovery plan gave stimulus checks to everyone that qualified. If you have kids, you receive child tax credits from the plan. If you have kids, schools received funding to pay for free testing and other costs of covid. Towns and cities received money to cover costs and salaries. His administration provided funding to help fight the forest fires out West and disaster relief for floods and hurricanes in other areas. If you’re vaccinated, his administration distributed them. If you’re not vaccinated, you’re riding on the coat tails and benefitting from those who are vaccinated. He’s bringing us closer to an end to the pandemic. I would also ask how did 45 impact your life in a positive way? I can’t think of a single positive thing that he did except for funding for the vaccines. While the vaccines are critically important, he personally didn’t do a lot to develop them and that accomplishment is greatly overshadowed by all of the things that he did that negatively impacted my family. www.politifact.com/article/2021/apr/26/evaluating-president-joe-bidens-first-100-days-off/www.cnn.com/2021/04/28/politics/president-biden-first-100-days/index.html

He is trying to get more help for the over-stressed - by pushing more child care, more elder care, more mental health care.
FFS people WAKE UP!
And if you have NO PROBLEMS and NEED NOTHING from the government, remember that OTHER PEOPLE HAVE PROBLEMS and DESPERATION. And when they have problems and don't see any solutions, they pick up guns to solve them.
That affects the "I don't need anything, what's he doing for ME crowd" too!
Have these people read ANY HISTORY at all?!?!?!?

The fact that someone who is smart enough to fly a plane could be so stupid is amazing. Most people don’t find “Let’s go Brandon” clever or funny. It’s junior high level humor. Right? It's like when eleven year olds come up with an alternative swear word. They use it, giggle, and think they are so clever.

Chanting F* Joe Biden started before the NASCAR event - no one in this thread is disputing that. Having F* Joe Biden being misheard and reported by an announcer as “Let’s Go Brandon!” DID happen at a NASCAR event. If it wasn’t for that NASCAR incident, people wouldn’t be saying “Let’s Go Brandon!” as some poorly disguised but what they think is clever way to actually say F* Joe Biden. That is what some of the people on this thread are trying to say. It isn’t that complex.

I make absolutely no apologies for not being instantly up to date on the latest MAGA meme/talking point doing the rounds. However, it’s usually pretty easy to find out inside of a few minutes of looking. The silent majority is never silent about it. 🤣

The reason that all of this has become socially acceptable (imo) is because during the Trump administration it became OK to disparage, hate, bully, threaten and be cruel. The entire landscape of the US has changed in response. It's awful.

I do expect more from colleges, though.

Quick question about the pilots.... Where do they think they will all find jobs flying and getting equal pay...
DeSantis is offering unvaccinated cops a $5,000 signing bonus. Does he really think NY, etc cops will go to Florida and work for what they pay in Florida? Not even counting giving up their benefits and pensions!!!

Even the office of the minority leader of the Senate uses the term.
From the Washington Post….
“Opinion: ‘Let’s go Brandon’ is Republicans’ vulgar governing agenda”
By Dana Milbank Columnist
October 29, 2021 at 3:51 p.m. EDT
“At 7:30 Thursday morning, White House officials rolled out President Biden’s roughly $1.75 trillion framework to cut taxes for ordinary Americans and make it easier for them to afford health care and housing, send their kids to prekindergarten and college, and adopt clean new power for their homes and cars.
An hour later came the Republican response, from the office of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky. It was succinct and to the point: “F--- Joe Biden.
Technically, the message, a tweet from McConnell press secretary Doug Andres, showed a photo of a roadside sign that said “Let’s go Brandon.” For the uninitiated, that’s a MAGA meme in which the phrase stands for the slightly homophonous “F--- Joe Biden.” It’s a way to flip the bird at the president “without running afoul of technology censors,” as the right-wing Washington Times put it.
The substitute phrase has been chanted at rallies for Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin; used by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), Republican Reps. Bill Posey of Florida (on the House floor) and Jim Banks of Indiana, and Donald Trump Jr.; and, on Thursday, adopted by the former president himself. He offered “Let’s Go Brandon” T-shirts for those sending at least $45 to his grifter organization Save America.
Think about that.
Democrats clear the way for passage of a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill that will provide broadband Internet and lead-free drinking water to every American, and better roads, bridges and ports for all to enjoy. And Republicans reply: Let’s go Brandon.
Democrats coalesce around a plan to raise taxes on those making more than $10 million a year, to crack down on tax cheating by the richest fraction of 1 percent of Americans and to make sure Fortune 500 companies can no longer pay zero in taxes. And Republicans reply: Let’s go Brandon.
Could the contrast be any greater? Half of America’s leaders are trying to govern, and the other half are hurling vulgarities.
By the administration’s calculations, the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill and the $1.75 trillion Build Back Better plan combined would add nothing — zip! zero! nada! — to the federal deficit. Yet Republicans, after approving nearly $8 trillion in new debt under Donald Trump, now howl about reckless spending. Republicans oppose debt limit hike after supporting increases under Trump
Biden’s plan, the White House says, would not require anybody earning under $400,000 a year to pay a penny more in taxes, and it imposes a minimum tax only on businesses earning more than $1 billion a year in profits. It goes after profitable corporations that pay nothing, hedge fund managers who dodge taxes and businesses that hide money overseas. This is a crackdown on tax cheating by the filthy rich — and the GOP stands with the tax cheats.
If Democrats succeed in enacting both the infrastructure and Build Back Better bills (no sure thing, given the party’s tendency toward entropy), they should lean into this juxtaposition in next year’s midterms:
Do voters want a competently governed America with better airports and a reliable power grid? An America where parents can afford child care, old folks can get hearing aids and all tots can go to free pre-K?
Or do they want an unstable America of ill-mannered insults, conspiracy theories, rageful attacks on educators, irrational opposition to lifesaving vaccinations, ham-handed attempts to suppress voting, and extreme abortion bans without exceptions for rape or incest?
On Wednesday, the day before Biden rolled out his framework, Rupert Murdoch’s Wall Street Journal — once an honorable voice of conservatism — published a letter from Trump repeating the fiction that Biden’s 2020 victory was “rigged.”
Also Wednesday, Fox News’s star host, Tucker Carlson, teased his “documentary” promoting the lie that the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection was a “false flag” operation orchestrated by Biden.
Republican lawmakers responded to Biden’s rollout Thursday with the usual name-calling: Liar! Socialism! Green New Deal!
Sen. John Neely Kennedy (R-La.) called it “class warfare” that would “crush small business.” (How many small businesses have $1 billion in annual profits?) Rep. Darin LaHood (R-Ill.) tweeted that it would “raise taxes on working families.” (Shed a tear for those “working families” earning more than $10 million annually!)
Rep. Greg Steube (R-Fla.) claimed Biden is “bankrupting Americans.” (By reducing the deficit?)
The National Republican Campaign Committee released ads this week targeting 15 Democrats, falsely saying the plan would let the IRS “spy on your bank account.” (There is no such proposal; as The Post’s Jeff Stein noted, requirements that banks report large transactions were removed from the bill.)
And House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) suggested that Republicans are so angry about Build Back Better that they would vote against the bipartisan infrastructure bill, too — even though, he admitted, “America needs infrastructure.”
Voting against what America needs, and Republicans support, out of spite? There’s a name for that, and it almost rhymes with “Let’s go Brandon.” It’s the GOP’s governing agenda.”

I've flown a ton this summer and Southwest has been the absolutely worst. They are burning through goodwill like nobody's business. When Delta and United are kicking your ass in customer service and on time arrivals - supposedly your bread and butter, you better get your shit together. They are also almost never cheaper anymore.

I agree. We’ve had some issues with United this last year - two canceled flights in the last month - but it’s still way better than Southwest. I only regret that the airport that flies Southwest out of Houston is much closer to our house than the United hub airport across town.

I don’t see it!🤔🤔 First of all President Biden is no trump which is very positive. Second. While we have a bunch of children in Congress pretending to be adults President Biden has managed to get things done in spite of the spoiled brats in Congress. The most important thing he has done, IMO, is put back into place most if not all of the environmental protections laws that trump removed. The environment we live in is important for all of us because it includes the air we breath, the water we drink, and the land we build our homes and schools on. It’s amazing how much polluting businesses and the military do and how hard it is to clean it up. Think Love Canal. Another example is at Clear Lake in Northern CA. In the late 1890’s there was a mining operation that continued until I think the 1950’s when they shut down the operations. A by product was mercury which leaked into Clear Lake and is still leaking into the lake today. The EPA has spent millions of dollars trying to stop the leak and clean up the lake and so far they have not been successful. That is one of the reason we need to stop polluting into the water and land now that we know better. So President Biden putting back into place environmental laws trump removed is a positive for all of us.
