I haven’t seen anyone post this, so I’m going to get it started. I’d also love to hear any stories… special ornaments, things you changed up, etc! I’m not finished yet but could use some inspiration from you guys! So, here’s a couple “almost done” trees as my contribution. 😂 The first is in my mud room. I’ve never done a tree in here before, but it’s the main entrance for our family, so why not? I’m still on the hunt for a basket to put the tree in, and then this one is done. The next one is in our basement family room. This is the tree we open presents around. It’s new (I really wanted a white tree but ended up with a flocked one.) I had no idea what I wanted to do here because we’ve had the pink tree for the past few years, but I had some nutcracker ornaments I really liked. I pulled some ribbon out of my craft stash so it’s a bit chaotic but I like how it turned out! Waiting on a tree topper which should be here next week, and I have to figure out a tree skirt.

This is my tinsel tree forest in my entrance. The tallest tinsel tree is a seasonal tree as of this year. I get little things from The Dollar Tree for each season and festive it all up! The tree in the den. Inconveniencing the dogs for a month and a half. They are not happy.

We're in the middle of a pretty big project at our house, so we'll be getting a late start to Christmas decorating and we didn't do any Thanksgiving decorating, but I love having a thread to see everyone's holiday decor!

(I’ve always worried they’d crush!) Also, where did you get the white ornaments on your big tree? Are they matte? The short one in the back just gets put in my playhouse store room. It just stands there. The tall one, I just edited the post, stays up year round as of 2021. I think I will probably keep it up again 2022. As far as them getting packy, you should see the tiny box they came in. From Walmart. I got the 6 ft tree last year for $25. They don't seem to be carrying them this year. I ended up getting the 4 ft front tree this year. It is $16. So if they get packed, no biggy. I'll probably try to just find some box or keep it in the bag with the big green tree. You just pick it out and fluff it. Oh and they are rose-gold and not silver but you can't really tell unless you are up close. The white ornaments came in a large box from Target last year. Those, along with the ones on the tinsel trees. A very farmhouse color vibe. I'll see if they are carrying them this year. ETA: Gennifer I forgot to say yes, they are matte. It also doesn't look like they are carrying them online. They may be in the stores. I haven't seen a great selection of Christmas decor at Target this year. I am picking up a dog nutcracker in just a bit. I have a huge collection of those. They are just not up yet.

gennifer your house is always stunning! I’ve only started decorating outside - putting up more white lights (I have some bistro lights up year-round) Here is a picture I snapped yesterday evening with the sunset off my deck - the sky and the hills were glowing pink. I might get our tree Friday and I’ll post more pictures as we decorate inside…

I always think I’m going to decorate outside and never end up doing it, but it’s such an amazing way to spread cheer to strangers.

Gennifer you should do a Christmas tree decorating tutorial! Everyone's trees look great. I have been decorating all day and am soooooo tired. I have been in and out of the crawl space and up and down stairs so many times. We only do one main tree (and the kids have a tiny one in their room that they decorate) but I have a lot of other decorations. Maybe too much.

naby64 , where did you get the silver stand for your big tree? Gennifer , I’m trying to figure out how you did your ribbons in your main tree. Are they tied?

Gennifer , I’m trying to figure out how you did your ribbons in your main tree. Are they tied? My daughter and my son’s girlfriend did those. They cut lengths of ribbon and sort of looped them twice at the top and then wired it, leaving the tails dangling. (And by “wired,” I mean they took an ornament hook and wrapped it around to hold it in place.) And then we just tucked them in throughout the tree. At the end, we took some shorter lengths and tucked them in where we had gaps.

We decorated our main tree yesterday. My 96 year old mama was here for the weekend and I wanted to walk her down memory lane. This tree is all the old glass ornaments from my parents, grandparents, and even two from great grandparents. She was so excited to unwrap them all and handle them again. I didn’t put this tree up for the last two years because we were moving the first year and Covid last year. Her memory is not the best anymore (especially short term), but she told story after story as we decorated the tree. A very sweet couple of hours. I should have added that *many* of the ornaments are our family ones, but not all. I have bought a fair amount at auctions and estate sales. I love vintage Christmas decorations.

I got my main tree done today with the help of the family! Two to go, and they are pretty small and manageable. All of your trees are beautiful. Mine looks like a 5 year old decorated it! LOL I have the tree up. Decided to not use the glittery ribbon but I don’t like it. Need to get some new ribbon. I got my wreath the day before Thanksgiving do that is outside. Planning to do some decorating today.

Planning to do some decorating today. I hear you! I have a love/hate relationship with glittered ribbon. It looks pretty and sparkly, but -damn!- is it messy to put up and take down! I ordered a red ticking stripe ribbon for my bedroom tree, and was hoping for a low-key, sort of vintage vibe. Turns out the ribbon is glittered (didn’t say that!) and not at all what I envisioned. So my tree is still undecorated, because I can’t bring myself around to the idea of glitter floating around my room!

Spongemom Scrappants, how precious! Gennifer, gorgeous trees! Love them! I started decorating yesterday. Haven't put up tree yet. Bought my first artificial one two years ago. I love everyone's beautiful trees. I just don't have the patience. That must be so tedious to take down. One of my dreaded tasks. Kind of like unpacking after vacation. I put up all my old ornaments I have made as a child, my hallmark ornaments we picked out every year growing up, and my dd's handmade ones. It is a trip down memory lane.

I have three trees For the first time ever, our main tree is all co-ordinated ornaments. I bought this large assortment box for using in bowls & decor for the kitchen/family room, but decided now that the living/dining area is fully decorated and not a hodge podge of used furniture, I would move all those ornaments to the main tree, and didn't even open the hodge podge boxes this year lol. The room is done in grey & has some teal accents, so the silver/teal ornaments were a perfect fit. My Disney/Rae Dunn tree: My Hallmark tree - Father Christmas collection in memory of my Dad. One for his last Christmas with us (the first of the series) and one for every year he has been gone (plus an extra the year they had a bonus one). The collection has gotten so large they need their own tree: And the main tree that we open gifts under, and that sits in my front window:

We just finished our two today. I still have a small one for our bedroom but that room is a mess right now. Maybe tomorrow! The blue one is mostly beach themed, along with pictures of loved ones. It's in our dining room. The other is our main living area and it's a new tree this year, the first time I've not had a smaller slim tree. I was looking for a sparse Scandinavian looking old fashioned shape but we love it! Attachments:

So far, I've worked my fingers to the bone putting up 3 trees in the living room windows. Ok, ok! I pulled them out of the boxes and plugged them in. Have yet to hide the cords and bases but don't push it, these things take time! 😜 ETA extra photo added for kitty porn. Little girl in big bro's bed. I'd say she's enjoy the sparkle but the 💤 say otherwise.
