My DD made this photo frame at school Christmas 2008. Every year it gets a little more damaged. And I think for the frame challenge it would be good to take a pic of it before it got further damaged.

Here's photo one. It might end up being photo nine. Only one side has lights, the other side requires a 20 foot ladder. Don't mind the laundry container on the porch. That's where we keep the ice melt. 😆

And I am sorry if this bothers anyone. I am on my phone and can't do spoiler. I pissed off another pea not too long ago but this is our reality. And has been for over 2 years. You know I don't care! Perhaps I should take a photo of my decorations that are far from perfect and an explanation of why we can't have ornaments that look like balls. My stars are a little different also. These wooden stars are made on a table saw. They are made in six long pieces which are glued together into a long wooden piece. They are then cut like you would cut a jelly roll, into 3/8" slices. The reason they are so special to me is because they were made by my husband who has been legally blind for the past 4 years. He is slowly losing the little sight he has left, but I am amazed at what he can accomplish in his wood shop. These stars are priceless to me and our children and grands. Reflection - I tried to take a photo of a duck and her ducklings, but they were too far away. I'm envious of your warm weather. I've experienced the joy of snow and I'm over it!
because DH found it and bought it for me as a surprse AND because Advent calenders were an important tradition when I was a child That is very sweet! These boys look pretty starry eyed to see Santa That is such a cute photo!

From sleepingbooty 's post: December 3rd Green
Photo prompt: It is the colour of rebirth budding under the cold ground and last autumn leaves, of Yule pine, of Nature personified, of balance, of the perfect seasonal complement to Christmas red. Find the green in your December life and let it shine in your photography today.

I opened my Hip Kit November box this morning and it was packaged in this green tissue. My cat pulled the green tissue out of the box, laid in the box for a while and then ruffled up the tissue, probably to make it more cozy, and laid on the tissue. Made me laugh.

He likes being able to look at one area and then point out or play with his ornaments.

December 4th Wait //
Photo prompt: This month is one of anticipation as we count down the days to Christmas and the end of the year. But we also wait for daylight to grow again on winter solstice, for packages and parcels filled with gifts to be delivered, for roads and schools to be reopened on snow days, for baby Jesus to be added to the nativity scene and more. How can you make wait visible?

I feel like this is possibly framed? I used the food filter on my phone. My mom wanted these items photographed. They are my dad's obnoxious cowboy hat and suspenders he liked to wear with his tablecloth shirt to embarrass us in public. It's for some type of Christmas gift for the family. What? I'm not sure. She won't say. I'm happy she's been very happy doing this. So prompt two.

December 4th Wait //Photo prompt: This month is one of anticipation as we count down the days to Christmas and the end of the year. But we also wait for daylight to grow again on winter solstice, for packages and parcels filled with gifts to be delivered, for roads and schools to be reopened on snow days, for baby Jesus to be added to the nativity scene and more. How can you make wait visible? This is kind of freaking hilarious. I took my son to work today and there was a traffic jam. See the taller head? I swear it was it was a sheep/llama, baby llama llama perhaps.😅 So I really wanted that road to open and I think they were being moved somewhere else for the winter. It's not the best photo because I told my son to take it and he zoomed way in. We eventually got on the interstate ramp with the cowboy and his dog keeping the sheep away.🤣 How's that for making waiting visible? I apologize for the weird spacing. I'm terrible at using taptalk on my phone.

refugeepea that is an awesome photo for wait prompt. I was predictable. I took pics of the Amazon driver and my packages. I may substitute something else for today. We will see as the day goes on.

Great photos, Ladies! Wonder what your mom is going to create with this photo, refugeepea? Intriguing. Framing a lifetime of memories is a challenge. And your waiting photo is hilarious! jeremysgirl, the Amazon delivery pics are perfect for the Wait prompt! This year we are all anxiously awaiting something... Ha ha, joyfulnana. Whatever about that GREEN photo made you think of MOI ?

And on to sleepingbooty's next prompt: December 5th.... TABLE So much of home life happens around the table and even more so through Yuletide. Children gathered to write their letters to Santa, baking festive cookies, putting together gingerbread houses, wrapping gifts, addressing Christmas cards, building a puzzle. Take a moment to record life around the table during this busy time of year. Yesterday we decorated the tree and hung the outdoor lights. Today my dgs wants to bake cookies, but I am hoping to get my Christmas table cloth and table centerpiece on the dining room table. Maybe a pic of the cookies by the centrepiece? Hmmm....

I'm not happy with the lighting on this photo because I couldn't take the picture until after dark. I may cheat and redo my picture tomorrow during daylight. Here is my dining room table.

Absolutely NOT cheating if you re take that shot in the daylight the next day, jeremysgirl . But you GOTTA explain that guest of honor!
Got a bunch of good seasonal photos this weekend. For the WAIT photo, my dgs wanted to bake and decorate cookies this morning. He loved the mixing and rolling and cutting and baking, but the WAITING for the dough to chill and then for the cookies to cool enough for icing was not a lot of fun for him. This one would make a good STAR photo, too Dd & family helped decorate the tree and other tasks like changing out the table cloth on the dining room table. Here is my Christmas centre piece.

grammadee that is such a cute photo and story to go with wait. Last year we just were too lazy to put the Halloween skeleton away so he sat at the table until like February. No one was here because of covid so it didn't matter to anyone. This year we left him out on purpose and dressed him up with a Santa hat. We thought it was funny.

Today is St Nicholas Day. Was interested to read on another thread, Linda 's traditions surrounding this day. Here is sleepingbooty 's photo prompt for today: December 6th: SUPPORTING CAST The focus is so often on the main character(s) but magic happens through collective effort and many helping hands. During this time of giving, charity and community, take a moment to let the supporting cast in your life come to the foreground in your documenting. Is there someone special you wish to capture this year? Would your usual delivery guy or postman mind posing for an in-action portrait? Are your little ones helping carrying in the groceries from the car? Is the pup patiently putting up with all your crafting and Christmas music? Does a coworker like to surprise you with a cup of hot coffee to start the day? We had quite a few elves here this past weekend getting our home ready for the holiday season. If I can get TapaTalk to cooperate, I will post a pic for this prompt from then.

A tree had broken off during a winter storm. Dd and family trimmed the trunk and dragged the tree up to the front of the house where they set it up to decorate later. We don’t have a natural tree in the house, but dd’s hubby really enjoyed this task which brought back memories of his childhood.

That is very cool grammadee it's a great photo and story. Here's my Christmas support person. He put the lights on the tree because I'm so short I fell off the chair and nearly fell into the tree. And he carefully places every gift under the tree as I wrap them.

On to the next sleepingbooty prompt... December 7: BURST!
Something uncontrollable and sudden. Bursting out laughing, bursting at the seams, bursting with pride. But also the camera's burst mode to capture a series of action photos in quick succession. Use today's challenge to document the spontaneous in your life right now. Loved ones cracking jokes, the kids having outgrown last year's Christmas PJs, broken glass ornaments before they are disposed of, a series of action shots (sledding, dancing to Christmas tunes, putting the star on top of the tree), and even the fire in the chimney bursting into flames. This prompt is a tough one to go looking for on a specific day. But something to be aware of as the month goes on. I can think of a number of moments this past weekend when my ADHD dgs's actions--and our reactions--could have fit the prompt. But who has a camera or phone ready at just the right moment?
But the good news is that we have all month to pin down these moments.
