I'M SO BEHIIIIIND! I forgot my camera at my mother's place this weekend so I can't even upload what I have from last week. *deep sigh* Typical. Today, I caught this fella reminding customers to wear their mask before entering for #29 Reflection. It's not a great photo but I love that you can see the dusk-lit building on the opposite side of the street reflected in the window.

December 8th: Holiday Throwback
Photo prompt: Use the present to take a walk down memory lane. December is also a time of traditions and memories. How can you photograph the impact of the past in present-day life? Think of old family recipes you still prepare for the holidays, of pets who've crossed the rainbow bridge but remain present through a special ornament or photo on the mantle, vintage china you were handed down that is used for Christmas dinner, a tradition upheld in the honour of a passed loved one. Perhaps your time travel adventure takes you somewhere else this year like visiting a local monument or signing the family up for an old-timey carriage ride through town (I've been watching Hallmark movies).
I have a story to tell about this. Just need to snap the photo and get TapATalk and my phone to cooperate...

Love your Reflection photo, sleepingbooty ! Can't wait to see the pic's you took this last weekend.
Here is my trip down memory lane for today's prompt. After my brother passed away in September of 2002, his wife had these tags made for our Christmas gifts. That year I hung it on the tree, and the tag stays in the tree ornament box. This year, my dgs was decorating the tree, found the tag, and asked “Who is this?” I started to tell him about my brother, and suddenly realized we were having the conversation ON CHARLIE’s BIRTHDAY! The next day, they went to bring up the real tree for the front yard, and I remembered that when I was a child, it was always Charlie who cut ours down and brought it into the house Christmas Eve. He took over the farm after our parents passed away. And always insisted on a fresh tree each Christmas. The other thing he loved about Christmas was all of the baked goodies: that man could sit and eat a whole gallon ice cream pail of cookies (even a pail pulled right out of the freezer!) at one sitting if left alone with them...
So this past weekend while we were busy in the NOW, I had the joy of also reliving the THEN, just because of one question from a curious little boy.

December 9th: G L O W! This is the month of twinkle lights, long nights, specks of glitter and candles. It's the perfect opportunity to capture a twilight portrait of your town's Christmas lights, Christmas market or the exterior of your house. Also think less literally: glow-ups with special clothes and makeup for a night out or your current skincare routine to help you get that healthy glow. Healthy glow, HA! sleepingbooty, this old sack of bones doesn't glow. But I have a pic from last night of Christmas lights reflected on a snowy tree.

Yesterday’s snow had clung to the branches of the pine out front. And the blue lights from our eaves set it to sparkling. It looks quite spectacular in the “live” photo on my iPhone, but hoping this still one captures the glow.

December 10th: S P A C E Here's a prompt that will take you to many places... Take a moment to think of the space(s) of your December life. Do you most enjoy the big, wide stretches of nature on your walks? Is your everyday space different due to a fresh empty nest, moving because of the pandemic, etc.? Is your personal space under attack due to gifts waiting to be put under the tree? Try to shoot so that your photo fits of the entire space. Step back, stand on a chair or use your camera's panorama mode.

Got my Covid booster shot today. These were the signs on the floor to remind people to allow for enough space between us.

Here's photo one. It might end up being photo nine. Only one side has lights, the other side requires a 20 foot ladder. Don't mind the laundry container on the porch. That's where we keep the ice melt. 😆 This is the very reason we don't have lights on our house. It's a bi-level and I won't let my DH stand on a ladder that high! Your house looks so pretty and festive! I somehow lost this thread and didn't think to look in Challenges. I'll come back and participate tomorrow. I'm loving all the fun Christmas images.

Here is sleepingbooty's next photo prompt: December 11th: F I R S T Catch a first today. What's manifesting itself for the first time this December? First snow, first holiday drink (and red cup!), first holiday card received. Or what is your first thing of the day through this season? Perhaps this is the first time you spend Christmas elsewhere, or with (or without) someone. Have an idea for this one... Just need to get the photo.

After dgs and family set up and decorated our Christmas tree last weekend, he started bugging people to let him “wrap a present”. I had already wrapped the ones that were heading out that weekend, and didn't want to have him help me dig into my stash of yet-to-wrap gifts, many of which were for him.
But he kept insisting, until his dad remembered that a gift for his aunt was upstairs. He got busy immediately, went downstairs to where I store the giftwrap and supplies, found a box, the tape, a pair of scissors, and wrapped the gift. As he tucked it under the tree, he announced, "There! A tree should have at least ONE present!"
So I give you... the FIRST present under the tree:

December 12th: B U S Y
It's the most... well, busiest time of the year! Slow down for a minute and peek through your lens to find evidence of all things busy. A look inside your planner filled with appointments and to- do lists, a view of the inside of your car with all the things as you spend your days in it to run errands and take the kids to rehearsal and sports, stuff piling up by the front door, your desk filled with projects. But also, perhaps, something visually busy: an over-the-top decorated tree or your home crammed with kids back from college (and all their stuff).
Hoping to see some evidence of your busy Pea lives this time of year...

I went off course a bit because it was our cookie baking weekend. I did not do the prompts because we needed to cover our holiday tradition and some things going on at home.
Hopefully I can get some ideas for this week.

No need to post the photos by prompt in order, nylene , jeremysgirl , refugeepea , or even by prompt at ALL! Would just love to see pic's of your holiday festivities here. I attended a holiday Seniors' Dinner yesterday, but did not end up taking any photos, so I will need to add a few at some point too. Here is sleepingbooty 's photo prompt for today: December 13th: U P !
Look up. Get up on a ladder for a bird's eye view of the living room. Set your camera up high with a timer to snap a different photo of your daily December life. For this prompt, it's all about taking a step out of your comfort zone and usual lookout on the world. Embrace the wider horizons, angle your camera towards the sky, pretend you're a giant looking in or a tiny ant looking all the way up.

That looks like a ton of sweet goodness, jeremysgirl! And a lot of fun! Here is my pic for today’s prompt. A former gf of my brother made this crocheted angel for me years ago and she comes out of hiding every Christmas. This year she is hanging out on the fireplace mantle. For the Up! Prompt, I angled my camera up toward her. Then I realized that she, too, is looking up. Serendipity!

This month is flying by, fast. On to sleepingbooty's photo prompt for today December 14th: H O M E Capture what home means to you during this special time of the year. Is it your actual house? Is it the people you share it with? Is it the town you've grown attached to? The town you travel back to for the holidays? Is there anything making your home feel extra homey these days?

I am behind again! Have my "busy" photo ready to share. Trying to decide what to photograph for HOME. And here we are at day 15: TEN DAYS TIL CHRISTMAS MORNING! Here is sleepingbooty's prompt for today. Love it. Seems like this season's traditions tend to magically take us "full circle" back to our childhoods. December 15th: C I R C L E [/b] Circles have no beginnings or endings and represent unity and life. Look around you to spot one of these today. Can you link it in some way to the themes this shape symbolises (community, commitment, lifecycle)? Is it perhaps your wedding ring by the sink as you wash your hands upon returning from the store #pandemiclife? Is it the shape in which you've disposed the gifts under the tree? Is it your pet curled up in your lap? Is it the wreath on your door that welcomes people into your home? Is it your daughter's hairbun for her dance recital? Is it a vintage bauble you've carefully hung on the tree? Circles are everywhere, you just need to look for them.

And on to today's prompt... December 16th F L O O R Step out from your usual viewpoint and photography habits! We so often focus on what is happening around us at eye level that we forget to get down low and see the world through the eyes from a different perspective. Focus on everything that is happening on the floor during this merry month: grandparents getting on the floor to help the little ones test out their new toys, your pet snoozing away in their bed during a festive celebration at home, the groceries all lined up against the wall after you went shopping to feed the extra mouths in your home for the holidays, boots and sleds drying out on the stoop after some snow fun, etc. Hey, sleepingbooty: if I get down on the floor to snap a pic, will you send a crane to lift me back onto my feet ? I could use the smiley ROFL But at my age it would soon lead to lying on the floor whining, and there is no smiley for that!

jeremysgirl, your gifts look really festive around the tree. And those little dessert stitch markers look so cute! What is their connection to Advent? Daily gifts like from an Advent calendar? And how are they stitch markers? I have to admit that when I saw what you wrote before the photo dropped in, this was not what I expected at ALL--for either stitch markers OR Advent LOL.

Today's prompt from sleepingbooty: December 17th: S C R E E N TimeFor many of us, this month is one of hibernating in front of the TV, smartphone in our hands, scrolling through social media. Watching Christmas movies, teens staying in touch with friends over the Christmas break, playing on the Switch while roadtripping to go visit family, using a tablet or Echo Show to follow recipes in the kitchen, funny things you've seen your security cameras capture this month. But also the cat snoozing away in front of the fire screen or going back to the cinema after many months of being locked down. Observe the many ways screens pop up in your life right now. Hmmm... Don't think I will get this pic today. But maybe when the dgk's come next week I can make them some popcorn and give them a fuzzy blanket to curl up in front of a Christmas movie on TV... Someone else shoulda been here yesterday to get shots of me trying to photograph under the tree, or taking selfies on the FLOOR. But I am not sure I want to see THAT photo in my Christmas album LOL.

A pea I'm friends with from the craft thread sent me an advent calendar. It is filled with stitch markers for knitting/crochet projects. You use the little clip to mark a spot on the project. Some projects you must have a bunch of stitch markers and these are what I've discovered so far in my advent calendar.
