Just saw in a news article that they withdrew $4,000 from an ATM earlier today and turned both their cell phones off. Doesn’t sound like they have intentions to turn themselves in despite what their lawyers are saying. Hrumpf... I can only get $700 from my ATM.... THEY GOT $4,000?!?! Still missing 12:04am EST Dec 4th...

The parents car has been found abandoned in Detroit. Police, FBI, and Marshalls have set up a search perimeter. Also this: the kid has a court appointed attorney. The parents hired an attorney for themselves today. Great parents there.

FoxNews is reporting that they have been captured in a basement. There will be a news conference at 3AM ET, so in about a half an hour.

I watched part of the news conference. They were hiding in a commercial building and some one let them in. The police are talking to that person but no one else besides the Crumbly’s have been taken into custody yet. Someone spotted the car in the parking lot and called police.

Detroit. Hiding in a commercial building, owner of business turned them in. Their car was parked between lines by business.
SWAT team went into building, searched and found them in particular business.
It appears prearranged, unknown who actually let them into the building.
To me it seems large building with separate business in it.
(And no I did not stay up for this news. I set alarm to place a 3am order at Target. I got ALL that I wanted to order.. and the news conference. Now back to bed!!)

You can only hope they will now be held without bail, seeing as we know that they are a flight risk.

I hope they didn't head to Canada! Wouldn’t they choose a country with similar or more gun freedom than they already enjoy? Might be hard to find but it won’t be any western nation. The US is the easiest place in the world to own or buy a gun and have the most guns per capita.

Among the gun rabid and rights rabid, it’ll be interesting to watch who/if/how these “responsible gun owners” (“They didn’t break any laws!”) will be defended, considering the context of the son’s crime. Crimes. Will the word “scapegoats” trend?

I hope you’re right. But we’ve often enough seen here that gun owners are opposed to any consequences for what someone else does with their unsecured guns, so …

But we all see how that’s going.

I'm glad they found the parents. I haven't been following this, so when I read that they couldn't find the parents, my immediate thoughts were that their child killed them prior to shooting up the school. I know that this had happened in other school shooting cases.

I expected that the parents would either be seen as victims of their child’s behavior, or other fun owners would see them as an anomaly because “my child wouldn’t do that” or “I’m responsible even though I, too, keep my gun in my nightstand”. However, their attempt to flee makes them seem even more guilty and responsible so we will see how they are treated.

"The tragic and deadly shooting spree at Oxford High School is highlighting divisions between county offices headed by Sheriff Michael Bouchard, a Republican, and Prosecuting Attorney Karen McDonald, a Democrat. McDonald said on CNN Friday that she was in constant communication with sheriff's officials, but as far as the couple fleeing, "it wasn't on anyone's radar that this was even a concern." McDonald said it was unfortunate that there was a discussion on national TV "about who is to blame" for the couple's disappearance. "I don't care who is to blame," she said. "What I really care about is the victims."" www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/2021/12/03/oakland-county-sheriffs-blasts-prosecutor-parents/8862325002/

Horrible horrible situation. I saw some vids of the shooters YouTube channel when he was about 10. He seemed like a likable, happy, interesting kid.
On Joseph Morris’ YT and a compilation on TruthSeeker2 if interested. I work with that age like many teachers here ( I’m not a teacher—para).

Generally speaking, my first thoughts in regards to any parents of a child who does something like this is to feel for them. Then as news comes out about the home situation, my opinion may change. But this time, I have nothing but contempt for these people. And it compounds the more I hear about them and their actions. I can't even imagine how I would feel if I was their child and this is what they did after I had committed such a life-altering, horrific act. I'm just without words.

I have many family members who are Trump loving, gun loving no gun control of any kind Republican Christians. I have gone to look at every single one of their facebook pages, and not ONE of them is saying anything about this. What are they talking about? Biden's gas prices, Biden's inflation, glee over the possibility of Roe v Wade being overturned. But nothing about this. No condemnation of these parents and how they give gun rights enthusiasts a bad name with their irresponsibility. NOTHING. I'm waiting for one of them to at least write, "Guns don't kill people, people kill people."

I'm waiting for one of them to at least write, "Guns don't kill people, people kill people." The right wing talking point is that it’s OK not to care about this because we haven’t also solved gun crime in Chicago. Chicago doesn’t actually have the worst gun crime in the US - not even close - but they love to use it as their bogeyman because Obama is from Chicago and Chicago has gun control laws, and it makes it easy to paint gun crime as a black, Democratic problem while ignoring all the white terrorists they’ve radicalized. But yeah. I’ll bet you a hundred dollars that if you ask one of them, they’ll say something along the lines of, I’ll start worrying about school shootings when Democrats do something about gang violence in Chicago. If they’re not quite that idiotic, then the other likely talking point will be something about this is what happens when you take Jesus out of the schools. Guns aren’t the problem, lack of Jesus is the problem. Best solved by instituting state religion. 🙄
