I only listen to bad press about Trump. I ignore anything said about President Biden.
there. I love him and I think he's doing a good job even in the shitty times we are in. Not his fault.

The media has watched the American people eat up bad news about the president - They made billions off of all of us clicking on every dumbass thing the president said/did for 4 years, why on earth would they give that up now that we have a boring run of the mill dude in office? Welcome to the new normal. Absolutely. He was terrible for the country, but very good for them financially.

Back to my rant from last night about VP Harris here is another example. Two stories about basically the same thing.

From the article..
“The mainstream media’s fixation with false equivalency between the two political parties and fear of criticism from the right has led to distorted coverage and misleading characterizations of the assault on democracy.
Voter suppression is called “tighter voting requirements.” The Republican’s descent into authoritarianism and its dalliance with violence is explained away as “polarization.” Meritless cases to overturn the election are described as “lawsuits stemming from the 2020 election,” and rarely is it made clear that “concerns about fraud” is a red herring or that the 2020 election was the most reviewed and reaffirmed in history (thanks to the slew of audits).
The media talks about the “lack of civility” in politics. But when do Democrats post videos depicting violence against Republicans? When do they follow Republican members down the halls of Congress to harass and scream at them?”
&
”Marc Elias, the Democrats’ top voting rights lawyer, writes for Democracy Docket: “Avoiding discussing partisanship leaves out the who, the what and the why of what is happening to American democracy. Without the context of partisanship, a person has no way to make sense of who is supporting voter suppression laws, what these laws are doing or why all of this is even happening.” He adds:
Now, imagine if instead, the report stated: Republicans in 49 states have introduced more than 425 bills to restrict voting access, while Democrats introduced nearly 1,000 bills to expand it. Suddenly, it all makes sense. The inclusion of partisan information makes the seemingly contradictory claims understandable and clear.
Only one party, the GOP, protects members who post violent, outrageous material. Only one overwhelmingly opposed a bipartisan commission to investigate the Jan. 6 insurrection. Or tossed a party member out of her leadership position for refusing to lie about the Donald Trump-inspired effort to overturn the election. Or filibustered debate on any voting rights reform (with the exception of a single Republican senator from Alaska).
Not every Republican voting rule is designed to suppress minority voting or subvert the administration of elections, but voting suppression and election subversion comes from the Republican Party only. Even when high turnout favors Republicans (as in the Virginia gubernatorial race), Democrats still want to make voting easier. In short, one party is committed to democracy, and one is committed to subverting it to serve its interests.”

Of course none of us know what sort of boss she is. She might just be tough, or she might be terrible. The Bluetooth stories and Tweets, in addition to the WaPo and Business Insider pieces lead me to believe that there’s more than a whiff of misogyny surrounding some of these stories. I have long believed that there is a double standard for powerful women and men. YVMV

YOU have the agenda. You just don't like anyone else having the "wrong" opinion here.

I suspect it would get a of use on this board. Some of us don’t agree with you or the articles you are posting. That happens. Here is what I know of Kamala Harris. She was DA while I was working in San Francisco. The biggest grip against her was she is against the death penalty and when prosecuting a cop killer she didn’t ask for the death penalty which got some people upset. As someone who is against the death penalty I didn’t have a problem with it. And apparently neither did the majority of San Franciscans because if they don’t like their DA they let them know. I believe the voters are trying to recall the current DA. She ran for AG of California and was elected twice before she ran for Senator after Barbara Boxer announced her retirement. And she became our Senator. As for her presidential campaign she ,IMO, made two mistakes. First one is she listened to her sister too much instead of her campaign manager. Second one I think she felt she needed to move farther left on the issues then she felt comfortable with and because of that she was confusing as to her stance on the issues. If she should run for President again I don’t expect her to make the same mistakes because she is one sharp cookie. And if she should run for President she will get my vote. If you don’t like Kamala Harris that’s your choice. But don’t get all hot and bothered because people aren’t agreeing with you. Or seeing things the way you are.

Harris was polling at 3% when she dropped out of the race. There's a reason for that. People didn't like her. They still don't.
If she decides to run next term when joe's done, I don't think it's going to go well for her, and I think honest democrats know it.

First I don’t throw hissy fits. Wait I did once. Remember lynman. She really made me angry with a comment she made and I let lose. Mostly I use sarcasm. As to my leaving the board. I do it not because I’m angry but because I get tired of all the deliberate ignorance and nastiness over nothing that happens on this board. So instead of just taking a vacation from this place I close my account. Which is kind of silly hence the name I chose when I came back this time around. To give you an example of what I get tired of . Last year in a conversation with a friend I asked her why was it when a bunch of women get together they can turn into raging bitches over nothing. She thought I was talking about one of the political threads she knows I hang out on and I said no, it was about the Christmas Card exchange list. She thought I was kidding. I have to say I had never seen anything like that before. Yes I put in a few comments, mostly about what actually happened in past years. IMO that whole incident was not this board’s finest moment.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean that you are correct in your assessment. Time will tell which one of is right.

It all comes down to “likability” for female candidates. You can’t be too smart, can’t speak up for yourself, can’t be assertive. You’re supposed to be a woman who stands behind men and politely applauds whatever they say, right after you submit your cookie recipe to Better Homes and Gardens. You also can’t be anything other than in the political center, and really, you’d best be white. A man can be a total asshole (Trump) and people cheer him. Story after story came out about what a toxic and terrible place the Trump White House was to work, but these morons think he’s a great leader. And then they’re criticizing Harris? Please. They have no credibility whatsoever.

How many press secretaries and national security advisors did he go through just in his first year?

Yes, but you omitted a significant and important detail. A federal court ordered the Biden administration to reinstate the stay in Mexico policy.. www.npr.org/2021/12/02/1061028280/biden-administration-says-it-will-restart-the-trump-era-remain-in-mexico-policyPresident Biden has called the policy dangerous and inhumane, but a federal court ordered his administration to revive it earlier this year. www.npr.org/2021/12/02/1060896872/u-s-will-resume-remain-in-mexico-policy-for-asylum-seekersPresident Joe Biden scrapped the policy, but a lawsuit by Texas and Missouri has forced him to put it back into effect, subject to Mexico's acceptance. As far as coverage and poll numbers for Biden vs. Trump, it's incomprehensible to me that Republican voters continue to support him, even though its not in their best interests financially. Republicans won a major victory when they convinced a lot of people to vote against their own best interests financially because of cultural issues. Republicans are also very good at praising themselves. Democrats really need to get out there and sell the infrastructure bill.

Too many Americans are too dumb for democracy to work. I'm not sure I would use the word dumb, but too many Americans are uniformed or misinformed. Too many Americans rely on social media. Too many Americans rely on Fox's entertainment hosts like Tucker Carlson, don't get their news from any other sources and don't think critically. And the negative press for VP Harris started as soon as Biden announced her as his running mate. I'm sure if the Republicans can find something like Benghazi to investigate, they will. That strategy clearly worked for them.

I should have said uninformed, uninvolved, uninterested. I'm angry that our democracy is almost over because the greedy and the haters have figured out how to program people toward stupidity.
