Too many Americans rely on Fox's entertainment hosts like Tucker Carlson, don't get their news from any other sources and don't think critically. I know several people who think, and have said more than once, that if you don't watch Tucker Carlson, you are not getting the truth about anything and you are missing out.

It all comes down to “likability” for female candidates. You can’t be too smart, can’t speak up for yourself, can’t be assertive. It's "I just don't like her" all over again. Too many Americans are too dumb for democracy to work. Is asking for a qualified candidate too much to ask?

Is asking for a qualified candidate too much to ask? Nope, it's not. With the last two elections, I have been dumbfounded that we had the choices we had at the end. Do you really think Trump was a "qualified candidate?" Cuz I sure as hell didn't/don't.

Democrats control the White House and Congress and you all still aren’t happy. I would have thought there would be thread after thread celebrating. Not a chance.
You only have a year left until the tide turns-enjoy it.

I’m trying to figure out how an attorney and US Senator isn’t qualified to be president. Isn’t that a pretty typical path?
Or if you were talking about Hillary, you could add former Secretary of State.
Must be something else about her that makes her unqualified in some people’s eyes. Hmmm. Just can’t put my finger on it.

Also, seeing anyone on the right criticize Harris on criminal justice is just knee-slapping funny.

See, I’m afraid I’ll end up in the mines. My husband won’t go along with the Christo-fascist state so they’ll put him on the wall, and then I won’t be a wife anymore. No uterus so I can’t reproduce for the state. And I’ll refuse to be an aunt. But her emails!

Your people are literally passing bill after bill to subvert democratic elections and institute a minoritarian theocracy. Your continued support of that is what sounds ridiculous.

There is a lot of truth in that thread The Republicans need only to win one election. Anyone who doesn’t understand what’s happening in our country are either incredibly ignorant, know but are ok with it, or standing on the sidelines with their head stuck in the sand. Which one are you?

That would be “knows but is ok with it.” That is, knows they’re working to end our democracy and their perspective is that it’s fine as long as the theocrats end up in charge.

Which one are you? You forgot one. Anyone who knows but doesn’t agree with your point of view which in your eyes makes them wrong. It’s not a difference of perspective. There are not alternative facts. The 2020 election was fair, there was not widespread fraud. Despite that fact, Republicans are using that as an excuse to pass voter suppression laws and giving state legislatures the power to overturn elections. Very real threats to democracy and well documented facts. The election was not stolen, there was not widespread fraud, President Biden won a fair election. Republican state legislatures are passing over 400 bills to change the voting laws. There is no other perspective. If you don’t see it, then your head is stuck in the sand or you’re willfully ignorant. You can have a different opinion or perspective about the threats to democracy. Do you care about it or not? In your case, you clearly don’t. The 2020 election and changes to voting laws are not open to different perspectives. They are facts. Also despite attempts by Republicans to downplay and whitewash the events, Trump incited a violent insurrection and attempted to overturn the results of the election. More well documented facts, not open to different perspectives. You can have a different opinion about the events or what to do/ not do, but not a different perspective on the events themselves. Facts are facts and not open to different perspectives. The Republicans are passing voter suppression bills, giving themselves power to overturn elections and restarting to violence to maintain power. You can ignore that, stick your head in the sand or complicity go along with it. You are entitled to your opinion, but not your own set of facts.

It is hard to even find the words to comment that those of you asking for a "good candidate" can actually say with a straight face that a reality TV personality, narcissistic lying grifter that doesn't even know what the Constitution IS....makes a better candidate than someone who has worked in government for several years. How can you EVEN expect people to take your seriously? I don't care if you are Republican OR Democrat. That doesn't even make any sense!

You are entitled to your opinion, but not your own set of facts. Not to mention the states where extensive gerrymandering has allowed Republicans to hold a supermajority of state districts while winning a minority of the popular vote or a very slim majority. Coupling a permanent hold on the state lege with the ability to overturn any election the lege majority doesn't like is not democracy. Normalizing that as "another viewpoint" is gross. (And I don't want to hear that the Democrats do the same thing when we're in power. If that was true, the Republicans would not hold so much power now.)

Bearing in mind that Gaetz is a clown, why would a Congressman even joke about something like this? ETA: just in case anyone has forgotten, your timely reminder of the clear thinking and eloquence of Trump. If you needed a reminder that this guy shouldn’t be in a position of any responsibility, here it is.

Here is an example of Fox being less then honest about what President Biden said a short time ago.
In the red box across the screen it says “Biden: Unilateral troops in Ukraine not an option”. But that is not what President Biden said. It’s the quote Aaron Rupar is showing. And yes if you listen to the video that is President Biden is saying.
This goes with the comment above. What the Republicans are trying to do is show President Biden as weak.
If the Republican Senators think we should send troops into Ukraine right off the bat to “show” Putin then I think they should put their collective fat asses into battle gear and lead the charge.

So we can put you down as another one that is ok if the democracy of this country is ripped apart by the Republicans. There is a difference about how two people see another person and those who chose to stand on the sidelines while the foundation of this country is destroyed. If you and others don’t understand the difference well then this country is really is doomed.

Here is President Biden’s quote that is in the body of the article in the Business Insider…. link“The idea the US will unilaterally use force to confront Russia invading Ukraine is not in the cards right now," Biden told reporters. "We have a moral obligation and a legal obligation to our NATO allies under Article 5. It's a sacred obligation. That obligation does not extend to ... Ukraine." Here is the headline of the article.. “Biden says the US won't put troops on the ground even if Russia invades Ukraine” And here is I guess the recap of points in the story at the beginning of the article… “Biden said Wednesday sending troops to confront a Russian invasion of Ukraine "is not in the cards." That “right now” is kind of important but yet it’s deliberately left out the two places usually read first in an article and in some cases only read.
