I am really not noticing any out of stock or big shelving gaps in the stores I shop at.

We've been pretty lucky in Southern Ontario (Canada). I've had trouble with my favourite cereal, Nature's Path Chocolate Peanut Butter granola but the rest of their cereals seem well stocked. I read that their might be an upcoming turkey shortage which doesn't seem to be happening at this point. I did order a fresh turkey from a local farm so I'm covered.
They've been stating that their might be trouble getting imported booze. A booze shortage might be tragic LOL. I bought 8 bottles of Niagara wines for gifts, Christmas dinner and NYE dinner. We're covered. Plus a small case of local artisan beer.

The retailers obviously think so, or hope we believe it... I walked by the turkey freezer section at Sobey's yesterday, and large turkeys were priced at $60+!!!! (In the past, that size would retail for less than $20)
I walked on by, but still need to pick up a turkey somewhere, so hoping the price drops--and there is a bird for me--in the next two weeks...

It's certainly tough for young working families and those on a fixed income. Prices for everything are outrageous.

My Aldi had canned cat food back in stock yesterday. Oh happy day. I bought three cases! (Leaving another 8-9 cases still on the shelf.)
Aldi didn’t have any cream cheese, but Publix did. I got the limit of two.

Thanks to LilyRose for making me aware of Brown Butter Rice Krispy treats I understand now why it’s requested.
And
Thanks to tenacious for the recipe you linked.
I made them today. I will definitely be making them again but will probably increase my bourbon to 1/2 cup. That recipe is definitely a keeper

I'm going to go to Costco for my meat for Christmas dinner, hopefully it won't cost me a fortune!

I had to order the turkeys in May and the hams in July. We had no problem with the turkeys but a week and a half ago the store called to tell me that they have been notified from corporate that due to supply issues they aren’t guaranteeing that they will get enough hams. They may get all of them or they may only get half or even less than half.

mikklynn Could you please share the recipe for the caramel cinnamon buns? Thanks! It's ridiculously easy! 1 package Rhodes frozen bread dough rolls (12 rolls) 1/2 cup chopped nuts 1 stick butter 3/4 cup brown sugar 1 regular size package Cook & Serve butterscotch pudding Place nuts in bottom of greased Bundt pan. (or 8x8 pan) Place frozen rolls on nuts Melt butter and mix in sugar and pudding. Pour over frozen rolls. Let rise overnight on counter. I cover with a cotton dish towel. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Be sure to put a pan under the Bundt pan to catch any overflow caramel! Let cool 5 minutes, then invert onto serving plate.

The shelves at Michaels (craft store) are often missing a lot of items. At one point I thought they were going out of business because the shelves were so bare and I asked about it, but they explained it is due to supply issues.
Meanwhile Dollar Stores are popping up like weeds and seem to have no trouble filling their shelves.

I don’t usually need a Thanksgiving turkey became de we always go to Mom’s, but I like to get a turkey during those sales to cook in January or February. I got a 20-ish pound Butterball at Walmart for $1.50 using the iBotta app when they had their $15 cash back deal, and I’m glad I did. It looks like I may be making a Christmas turkey this year at Mom’s request, so I’m all set.

Turkeys. I work in a grocery store. People are buying the frozen turkeys like crazy. The owner was told we might not get anymore in. So there will be a shortage soon. We ran out of windshield fluid. Shelf has been empty for 3 days. Sidewalk salt gone. I'm sure there will be more coming up next week that we have to wait for a hopeful delivery.

Canned cat food is the main thing I notice. It has been a big source of stress for me the whole pandemic, with 5 fussy mouths to feed here. Fancy Feast creamy delights has been our struggle. But the other flavors they like have been okay. Hopefully it turns around soon! One of our cats cannot eat dry food at all, she will vomit in 30 minutes pretty much like clockwork. Our cat will only eat the Fancy Feast gravy lovers and it’s getting hard to find. I found some Blue Buffalo with gravy but now that’s gone. Gatorade Zero is another thing we’re seeing a shortage of.

Our cat will only eat the Fancy Feast gravy lovers and it’s getting hard to find. Chewy has it (not a referral link). Free shipping if you order $50. Rakuten is currently offering 1% back as well. They also have the Blue Buffalo Tastefuls with gravy. Shipping is quick and service has always been great with Chewy.com.

Rumor has it, if you set up an autoship with chewy for difficult to find pet foods; what they get is first marked for their autoship customers. Then if any is left they will put it out for sale to single ship customers. So it is smart to set up an autoship. I had my autoship set up before the pandemic started and never missed getting my cat's preferred canned food even when the site said it was out of stock and single ship customers were complaining they couldn't get it through chewy either.

This is not a retail shortage, but it is affecting me!
Last summer, we discovered that we need a new drain field for our septic system. It wasn’t an emergency, but it was affecting our aeration system when we had heavy rains (as in 2 days of torrential downfall last summer).
We contacted the company that does our service to get the paperwork for the county inspection in June, and we did not get a permit until August. At that time, the materials needed for the new field were back ordered. The company called and left a message for me in October saying the materials were in, but I didn’t get the message due to a glitch with my iPhone (it was a frequent problem so it’s been replaced). By the time I heard from them again, they had used the materials for other customers, but we are at the top of the list for the next shipment that should be here by the end of the year, so hopefully we will have it taken care of in January.
It just makes me so nervous to think that our septic system is on the verge of failure!

Bumping my own thread to add one more thing to the shortage list -- and this one is SERIOUS! Talenti Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup gelato. Seriously. Gone. Empty spot on shelf. Haven't seen it in ages. I NEED MY CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER CUP!

I've not been able to find their Coconut Chocolate Almond in months now. Of course, now that it's not there that is what I've been craving.

I've not been able to find their Coconut Chocolate Almond in months now. Of course, now that it's not there that is what I've been craving. Same! In fact the other day as I was searching in vain for the Talenti I decided to buy something else. I found a Ben and Jerry's that had "chocolate" and "peanut butter" in the name. I used to love Ben and Jerry's. But this was a total disappointment! It hardly tasted like peanut butter except the chunks, whatever they were. I think the ice cream was supposed to be peanut butter (unlike the Talenti which is chocolate ice cream with whole mini peanut butter cups and large swirls of peanut butter...sigh) but in reality is was just bland. I suspect I'll continue to search for something else next time I'm there since, as you said, I'm craving it now that I can't find it.

A week since my last post, and now some things seem to be missing in local stores, but are available online. I needed more scotch tape and some holiday paper plates (I totally forgot to buy them earlier in the year.) and DH came home from grocery shopping at 3 local stores with neither item, saying all stores were sold out. But I hopped on Target's site and had no issue ordering them all. Now I just have to hope that they actually arrive in time! Now there's a real challenge! Otherwise I may resort to wrapping my last gifts in brown paper and tying them with string. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Q_m8lDOvc_3Le3r1GKdf.jpg) And I'll be using plain plates for our Christmas show snacks with the kids.

monklady123 -- That store is near my cardiologist, I'll have to check it out sometime! Have you checked Aldi? I swear I've seen jasmine rice there, but I could be mistaken. You should! It's so much fun to browse through, and I always come home with something new. And the produce! omg. On this last trip I bought Thai eggplants, Japanese purple sweet potatoes, long squash, and pomelos. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) The eggplants don't taste much different from the large purple ones -- maybe a bit sweeter -- but they are very cute. lol. Small and round. I sliced them in rounds and roasted them. I also bought several different types of dumplings/potstickers, some sweet chili sauce, dd's favorite cookies, plus two types of jasmine rice, and a package of glutinous rice. I've never cooked with glutinous rice but dd and I recently ordered sticky rice and mango from a Thai restaurant so I wanted to try making it myself. Except of course we can't find good mangoes. Good Fortune had some but you had to buy a whole case of them. lol

Little Debbie Vanilla Christmas Tree Cakes - my 33yo DS has loved them since he was young, and tradition is that I always put a box in his stocking. They are nowhere to be found, although I have seen that some people here have found them - I haven't been at the right store at the right time, I guess!

Went to Wal-Mart yesterday while my cat was at acupuncture and there was almost no toilet paper, again. Also very low on canned cat food, candy canes, frozen chicken. Other things too but I can't remember them right now. Not cream cheese though, plenty of that in all the stores around here.
