Didn't want to sidetrack the cream cheese thread. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/OrTI4SBmZ2ZYSFv6ag4f.jpg) Just wondering what else you're seeing that seems to be hard to find. Personally I hadn't noticed the cream cheese because I haven't needed it yet. But thankfully that thread was posted because I managed to snag two of the last blocks of cream cheese at my grocery store. Dd has already found several types of holiday cookies she wants us to bake and one requires cream cheese. Obviously we would have been fine without it...we would have just found another recipe. But I had no idea there was a shortage. Another hard-to-find item around here is jasmine rice. Most mainline grocery stores don't have it at all. Costco has it sometimes but of course it's in their huge bag which is too much rice for us. I was seriously considering buying the huge bag and then finding a couple of people to split it with. But today I was in the next town over for a doctor's appointment and stopped at a large Asian grocery store (Good Fortune at Eden Center, for you locals) to check. Happily they have jasmine rice in several different sizes. I bought two brands to try them. And I bought glutinous rice and black rice. lol. Such a wonderful store to browse around in. I know a lot of your are having trouble with caffeine-free Diet Coke. I drink regular Diet Coke so I haven't been paying attention to the caffeine-free kind, but I'm going to take a look next time I'm at the store. What else has shortages where you are?

cream cheese
sour cream
canned cat food
diet dr pepper - I can find it but not always in the packaging I'm hoping for (one week I can find 12pk cans, one week it's only in 8pk bottles, another week only 6pk bottles or only 2 litres)

Canned cat food is the main thing I notice. It has been a big source of stress for me the whole pandemic, with 5 fussy mouths to feed here.

Nothing.
But my fairly small 6 foot Christmas tree from Oregon cost a whopping $165 this year.
And I ordered shoes on Zappos last night - I used to get them free 1 day shipping - now they have a delivery date of over a week. Not that I’m complaining lol.

I’m finally finding the caffeine free stuff, it probably helps that I only drink one can every few days so a pack lasts me several weeks.
Rice has been an issue, and Splenda/sucralose. We couldn’t find salt the other day as well.

Not a shortage, but I see a lot less coffee cream available. There is less of it, and also less variety.

Members Mark hot dogs from Sam’ Club. They haven’t had them for months. Heinz gravy has been in short supply at the grocery store for quite some time. Other then those 2 items I haven’t had a problem finding anything I normally use.

The coffee creamer that I use from Sam's Club has been out for a long time. (Hazelnut in pump bottle) I was able to find cream cheese for a minute, so I stocked up.

Another hard-to-find item around here is jasmine rice. Most mainline grocery stores don't have it at all. . In northeastern Alberta, I am finding ANY kind of rice difficult to find at any given time. I prefer short grain, and grab pkg of that when it is available. But this week, even the long grain plain brown or white rice was in short supply again. Not sure where our rice comes from. I had thought during 2020 that perhaps we were not getting the usual amounts from China. If that is the case, our shortages now may be because of storms in BC that disrupted shipping on the major highways.

I have mostly noticed the canned cat food shelves are slim pickings. I keep forgetting to look for cream cheese, but I do need some for some Christmas baking.

Starbucks mocha fraps at either Costco or Sam’s club. I can’t find them in the larger packs and am too cheap to buy at regular prices. This has been ongoing since the beginning of the pandemic. Not that big of a deal but annoying.
Also not seeing organic ground beef at either of the above stores. I still have some in the freezer but would like to add more.
ETA. I just looked for jasmine rice at Sam’s and only the small 4 pound bags are available. We use a lot so I added it up my cart for my next pickup. We are starting to run low snd normally do buy the 20 or 25 pound large bags.

Plenty of cream cheese at Walmart in Central PA - you all made me look. Canned cat food pretty picked over, though.

Russell Stover Christmas Chocolates were sold out long ago and I noticed today that the dollar store where I buy them has replaced the spot with Valentine ones - I'm fine with that as they are just as scrumptious!! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

We can’t find Nabisco unsalted saltines. They were gone the past winter, back in the spring. Then Nabisco went on strike and they were gone, then the strike settled and they came back. Now gone again. We are now ordering by the case from Amazon. Regular saltines are too, um, salty.

Nonfat Greek yogurt in large containers is very hit or miss. Can’t think of anything else, but I do see quite a few empty shelves so it must be products I don’t buy.

Peppermint mocha Frappuccino doesn’t seem to exist this holiday season, peppermint ice cream, and lactose free/soy Nog aren’t available here.

Jasmine rice is our preferred rice. I bought a 25 lb bag at Sam's recently, and DH about injured himself with the eyeroll when I brought it home. I haven't gotten around to it yet, but the plan is to dish out 1- and 2-cup amounts and vacuum seal them. Then I will share the 1-cup packages with my two daughters who live alone, keeping the 2-cup portions for us (household of 3). I have other rice all sealed up already, but they are in larger amounts. I just want to be able to open the amount I need and not worry about saving the unused portion. I have no problem at all using up leftover rice. If I cook 2 cups, I have enough for two meals, so burrito bowls one night and General Tso's chicken the next. Or chicken tikka masala. Or rice pudding. Or whatever.

Bacon is around, but $$$ I bought some bacon recently that is not pretty, but works great in recipes. You can buy it in a 10-lb box for about $1.50 per lb on a 3-day sale at a local grocery store. They do this every few months. I repackage it into smaller amounts and vacuum seal, then freeze it until I need to make a quiche, green beans (with onion and bacon--yum!), bean soup, bacon and pineapple pizza, etc. My Foodsaver gets quite a workout these days as I try to buy different items in bulk and package them for convenience.

Off and on availability for Mott's fruit snacks and heavy cream Have you tried Sam's Club for the fruit snacks? We love Mott's! I buy the giant box every once in a while and keep them in a basket in my office for students when they stop by. I just bought a box a couple of weeks ago, and my Sam's Club had the usual supply. I usually buy heavy cream there as well, because I can get a quart for less than I would pay for a pint at the grocery store.

Coke Zero or Coke Zero Sugar.
Nearly impossible to get in bottle 20oz 6pack form. Has been for months, ever since coke started jacking around with the labeling of them. 😒

We have six cats - four seniors who eat a specific kibble (nine lives urinary health) and two kittens who eat a different specific kibble (Purina kitten). One of the seniors has a problem keeping weight on and she gets wet food also - she's a high maintenance picky little thing who only likes Meow Mix and NOT the pate thank you very much. It's been super hard to find. One of the kittens eats a specific perfect portions wet (pate) food (the other one doesn't care for wet food) and it's also been hard to find - as has the kitten food. Went to Dollar General tonight and got kitten kibble and wet food but got the last box and there were NO Meow Mix or any other canned food on the shelves at all.

My son loves those cheap Totino pizzas but only cheese kind. Yesterday was the first time in a month I could find them.
He also loves these chocolate cream pie things by edwards in the frozen foods. Can’t find those. Each week it’s something different that I can’t find. But none of it is life threatening-first world problems.
