Plus, frankly? I have serious doubts about both the morals and intelligence of anyone supporting the trajectory of the Republican Party right now. (And this is from someone who has, historically, voted for a lot more R than D in the past.)
So, yeah, why would I be interested in pursuing any kind of relationship with someone that I don’t really have common ground with?
Just like I wouldn’t date a hunter, or a Scientologist, or whatever. It doesn’t mean I’m intolerant, just that I realize our lifestyles are probably incompatible.

I think that many of us are just sick of it. The election was rigged, Covid is a scam, we don’t know enough about the vaccines, no mandates, no abortions for most, Jan 6th was NBD, and finally, our state legislatures are writing laws and gerrymandering to the point that Rs will almost certainly win the next elections, despite being a minority of US voters.
What’s not to dislike?

doesn't mean you "despise" the person Right?!!? I keep coming back to how ridiculous it is to equate "don't want to date" to "despise". Such ignorance on display, right there.

In seriousness, what is the concern here? That instead of wanting to date people only because they are hot or have nice cars, people want to date other people who share their values? And that you're more likely to feel strongly about that if your values include things like . . . well, inclusion and equality?
I wish that we were in the 1980s "should we tax capital gains, y/n?" era of political differences, but . . . we're not.

I think it's less of a case of intolerance and more of a case that most Dems are "woke" as some say. They have their eyes wide open to the insanity that is the Republican party right now. Also, the younger generation are much, much smarter than we were at that age. So kudos to them!

Of course young Dems are likely to despise "the other party." The other party is despicable.
