That is the BEST news. I am so happy for you re: your DH and, of course, your washing machine.

So glad you got the news you hoped for …on both issues
possibly TMI…
May I ask what issues he was having? I really don’t understand the ‘blood in stool ‘ symptom bc apparently bright red blood is typically not a concern but brown is. This is what I don’t understand…how does one see brown blood in stool?

May I ask what issues he was having? I really don’t understand the ‘blood in stool ‘ symptom bc apparently bright red blood is typically not a concern but brown is. This is what I don’t understand…how does one see brown blood in stool? I had a whole response typed out on my iPad and the battery died. You should never shrug off blood in the stool, which is what DH had that kicked this whole thing off. It could be anything from hemorrhoids, which will occasionally bleed, and while uncomfortable not major to a large polyp in the colon (what DH had and very much major) causing the bleeding. You really need to monitor it and if it continues, go see the doc. If he had ignored this, they wouldn't have found it until he went in for the colonoscopy due to age (we're both 48) and even then may have put it off due to the prep. This would have meant the polyp that is cancerous (likely stage 0 or 1 now) would have had a chance to grow into something much worse. I am not in the healthcare field, but live with a hypochondriac and have been put in my place with regard to brushing off things that are "minor". so I may be heading toward becoming more proactive when something medical comes up.
