I started scrapping in 2008 when distressing was all the rage. Remember spraying down paper with water, crumpling it up in a ball, and then smoothing it out? Yup, guilty as charged! I won an Easter egg decorating contest at work with that method! I won a paid day off. And then my boss asked if she could keep the egg. On a completely different event I won a whole paid week off! Yay me!

Is it too early to bring up the Becky Higgins PL core kits in the magnetic pop-open boxes with AAAAALL the duplicate cards? Girrrllll. They are perfect for the lazy scrapper who doesn't want to trim paper down and is okay with round corners. Or if you've got photos sliding around, tuck an ugly one behind them. Mine are organized by color. I usually spruce them up a little. I have a lot more pattern paper. Two photo boxes of cards is nothing.....nothing I tell you!

artbabe, I still ink all my layers! I don’t like mixing a lot of pattern right next to each other without inking. It provides a nice separation to the papers. I do a lot of inking too.
Journaling Genie templates. I forgot the name! I had a few of those.
I'm going to have to wait a few more years for my early SB memories to be memory lane material. Came into this craft less than 10 years ago so I'm actually discovering things reading through this discussion! I wish people would post photos because I have no clue about some of the stuff that's brought up (teddy bears?)... From the history of the peas board. Enjoy....... link
For reference, this is a tear bear link

It came to me last night, it was called Pages By Design. I never actually used them and maybe it was the people at the crops I went to but they LOVED them. I have the whole set - big binder of templates and another binder of page ideas. DH got them for me on super-clearance and I've used them some...

Foam stamps from Heidi Swapp , MM, Scrapworks and Lil Davis were all the rage for awhile. Back when I first started the hot off the press paper that was photo realistic was just about we could get. Everything was so very themed and specific. The paoerkins paper dolls. The plastic templates that made the layouts for you, you cut the photo into the same size rectangles as the template, I don’t remember what they were called and I know I am not explaining it well, does anyone know what I am talking about? Deluxe Designs -- frankly I still love their templates and have used various of them in several albums! I'm not particularly creative so having one good balanced template would give me at a minimum 8 layout options. I still really like the albums I made from Deluxe Design templates! I still have my Deluxe Design templates - I love them. Haven't used them much lately but I should pull them out - they are great for using up scraps and doing holiday layouts with loads of photos (Christmas morning anyone?)

I've been scrapbooking since 1997 and I am a self-proclaimed scrapbook supplies hoarder. Not only do I remember almost everything mentioned so far in this thread, but I also still own most of what's been mentioned! A few months ago I decided to totally reorganize my scrapbooking supplies mostly by color, which is how I realized I search for supplies when I'm working on a layout (why it took me 24 years to realize that I don't know!) I found Making Memories rub-on letters; the MM metal letters, metal corners and metal words; MM metal page borders; tons of photorealistic paper; cases and cases of fiber; more eyelets that I care to admit that I own; brads in every color of the rainbow; paper dolls; mini-file folders. Sorting my paper I realized I had a 12 inch tall pile of Basic Grey papers I haven't used (saving them for "just the right layout"); Rusty Pickle papers; lots of MM papers; Daisy D's papers; Doodlebug Design papers; a 12 inch tall pile of SEI papers; and the list goes on. I discovered an entire PSB (Paper Sticker Binder) full of all kinds of stickers - those I gave to my daughter for my grandkids to use. I have a dozen or so Hambly transparencies and lots of other transparencies; and entire drawer full of rub-on letters and designs; enough unfinished chipboard to pave my way around the world and dozens of ready-to-finish mini-chipboard albums in varying shapes. I had good intentions of using all of those supplies when I bought them, but life with two growing children and their activities and full time work got in the way. Now that they kids are grown and on their own I finally have time to scrapbook more and I've challenged myself to use those older supplies. It's been kind of fun to rediscover them! My stash is very similar…including still having some Hot Off the Press papers (in the booklet that you tore each sheet out). Plus ribbon, in every color and pattern.

The MM metal letter charms! I just found my tiny tackle case full of those… in the back of a laundry room cabinet of all places! 🤣 I only used a few of them. I remember attaching them to journaling blocks using tiny brads in my first son’s baby book.
Maybe I’ll break those out and figure out a way to revitalize them. 😂
Something I miss is shaped paper clips! Tiny animals and trees, etc. Adorable! I’d totally be on board with a revival.

Suzy Zoo! My now 19 year old sons nursery was that theme!
Tear bears... I remember one lady on ebay who would make layouts with them that sold for $100's of dollars!

Is it too early to bring up the Becky Higgins PL core kits in the magnetic pop-open boxes with AAAAALL the duplicate cards? Did anyone ever make a project that used that many duplicates? I like the concept of Project Life but a lot of the things Becky did puzzled me. I use those old cards basically as scraps. If I want to just stamp my own card, some of the plain cards work (some reversed to just grid or lines). Or if I need a 3x4 piece to use as a hidden hinge or whatever, those PL cards are already cut to size and thinner than many other cards, so pretty handy for a kit of uses. Sometimes when I’m working in old PL albums I will use those cards for journaling. Something about scrapping pics of that era, when those PL kits were king, make me instinctively reach for them. Some of my fresher more current supplies sometimes just don’t “fit” or look right to me. I had two of the original PL core kits - Clementine (which was mostly used up in my album that year) and the one Elise Joy Blaha designed. I still have a ton of that one left. It’s crazy how repetitive it is.

mostly i miss companies themselves. the other day i was just telling DH that i miss going to the old CHA conventions in Vegas. scrapbooking was in it's heyday and all the major manufacturers and cottage companies were there doing demos and exhibiting the latest and greatest SB stuff. the make 'n takes were awesome and i would come home with luggage full of great products they would give away for free. now it's just a few companies that own all the smaller companies or smaller independent companies struggling to hang on.

Maybe just me but there was a period when butterflies were everywhere and I had trouble finding anything that didn’t have one. I had a LSS at the time and she went 110% into it and it made me feel like I was walking into a daycare 🤭😂
I remember metal tins that had a mini album inside them. Metal charms tied onto layouts, Heidi Swapp handwriting, decorative corner punches and scissors, foam stamps and craft paint. And quotes - I seem to remember that you wouldn’t journal so much as find an appropriate quote and use that instead.

I am terrible at remembering the who made it when it was made info. I am such a literal scrapper that I used the mens facial hair paper on a literal page about my son and his friends showing off their beards! I used the chandelier paper on a page where we are in a formal dining room and there is a chandelier in the photo.
I do not recall the first icons I came across because I started when paper pizazz was all you could buy. That said I have not used llamas because I have no llama photos.
I remember being mortified when my very trendy scrapfriend started using 3d elements on her pages. Prior to that we were all flat scrappers.
Products I miss is also a hard one but I know I will really date myself when I say I miss the wall of Mrs Grossmans stickers in every possible theme. Sometimes I just need that one sandbucket or seagull, or snowflakes. Fortunately my stash/hoard is so out of control if I dig around enough I will generay find what I need.
I used to love Junkitz back in the day and of course Making Memories. I adored those Mambi kids. I still use those. Like I said I am pretty literal so theme is everything to me!

Foam stamps from Heidi Swapp , MM, Scrapworks and Lil Davis were all the rage for awhile. I just had to have a set of the Heidi Swapp foam stamps. I made one layout with them (on Basic Grey paper!), and I still love it, but the letters I have are huge. I revisited this trend a couple years ago when Tim Holtz came out with his foam stamps. This reminds me to dig them out and do a layout with them. I love Making Memories metal. I still use it. I know it dates your page but it is just so cool. I loved the little words and phrases. Count me in on still loving the Making Memories metal. I like the texture that it adds to a page. I have a bunch of it hoarded. I also hoarded the metal tag frames. I was going to use them in a project, but never did, so I hunted down a bunch. I still really like the look so I should make a point of bringing some to the front and center of my stash to use up. Remember all the fibers? I never could get them to look right. The fibers haunt me. I have a bunch still in their packages. I have no idea how to use them to make them look current, but boy would I love to use some of them up.

I just tossed a crap load of PL cards. Even repurposed as scraps it was more than I was willing to store. I was drowning in those things. I now have just what I really like and I won’t be running out anytime soon.

I had to have those foam alpha stamps in all.the.fonts. I finally gave them to a friend of my DD's who has younger kids and they like to use them at an easel with kid paint. Cool! Does anyone remember the calendars in a box, and then the back was scrapbook paper? So after the year was done, or after the holiday you could use the calendar paper to scrapbook with? OMG I think everyone who got me a gift for a couple years gave me those. They were some of the first 6x6 paper I ever had. I finally threw some out, thin paper and the worst designs.
