I fell off the wagon with the MME sale, but the Wild Asparagus kit was so cheap! I also bought some basic cardstock.
I also made a purchase at ACOT, but was very frugal! I had a GC from Christmas, free shipping code, and a $15 reward. My total was just over $12, so I don't feel too guilty.
Back in the freezer for me.

I’ve been a naughty frozen pea. I fell out of the freezer and into a pot of boiling water! Shopped at a big scrapbooking store earlier this week and this morning I purchased Paige Evans new boy cut files. Ack!

Right after the high of clicking Confirm Purchase I feel the need fo come here and confess 😂
Not sure I ever counted as frozen though - gave myself a nominal amount each month to buy stuff that had run out ($20 for glue, paper and ink), or organizational stuff (goal is to spend less by being able to find what I already have 🙄).
Ended up spending the $60 in the budget on discounted TN notebooks and some clearance TN insert sleeve things. I’ve been good about purging out stuff and getting rid of supplies for projects I don’t think I’ll realistically ever do. I came across a handful of TN and binder to hold them, still like the style, and figure the format will be an easy way to ‘catch up’ (can I call it that if I never ever started?), on 2020 and 2021. Won’t be even close to a PL or memory planner type thing, but for someone without kids or a lot of family who always struggled to find something ‘noteworthy’ enough to document you’d think a global pandemic might have made the short list 😶🤗
Have already planned out what each of the 10 notebooks will cover - not having 12 forces me not to do it by month, and the size forces me to find just main points, so I’m optimistic the purchase won’t feel like a regret. We shall see. 🤞🏻

I’m planning to go frosty again for April (leading up to iNSD sales).

Still frozen! I'm honestly amazed that I haven't bought anything yet this year. Not even more page protectors etc.

Well done on staying frozen @cumber1137!
I'm doing ok. I made one purchase when I reached my 50 layouts, so far my largest spend has been on page protectors. I do have a very full cart at sb.com but I feel guilty at the thought of buying it which tells me I need to work on using more of what I have rather than adding to it.

The whole point of freezing is to use up what you have and you've been definitely doing that.

I did something this week and I'm rather proud of myself. For the first time in longer than I care to admit, I can fit all my paper packs into my normal paper storage, which means I've used enough paper this year for that to happen. Until this week I've had collection packs stacked on top of my storage, but I can now fit all of them into my drawers.
Has anyone else used enough to see a difference or had any other wins?

Great progress. I have gotten to the same point with my paper. I have a couple plastic containers it all fits in. I still want to use a bit more. I was flipping through and there are so many good papers in there. I really want to male pages while I love them. Also there is some amazing in a creative bubble for gossamer blue papers. They deserve to have a moment on the page. I realized that while I have stuff most of it has been used at least once which I think is great progress. I don’t have a lot of unopened things sitting around. Now to use some up.

I almost purchased the Studio Calico December documenter kit card set but didn't feel like paying international shipping just for some cards so I walked away from the cart. I'm starting to think my next scrappy purchases might be a few select things from a new Halloween line and then some from a new Christmas line. It's nice to think in terms of goals and specific projects instead of "I like this, I could use this, let me get this". Working in a memory planner again has also helped me stay focused on less things, more memories. I'm making my way through my beloved word sticker sheets and stamp sets, my favourite embellishments, as I continue to document life on the daily. Congrats to everyone staying frozen or within budget/frosty!

It's nice to think in terms of goals and specific projects instead of "I like this, I could use this, let me get this". I'm trying to be more like this in my purchasing. My online LSS is having a sale this weekend, and they have several things I want. I also have some things in my cart that fill gaps in my stash where I've used a significant chunk of the supplies I previously owned, so I feel like buying those would be a good investment. But I also know I have more things in my cart than I realistically need, and of course there are some things I don't have a need for, I just want them. The window with the cart has been open all weekend because I just can't make myself hit buy. I know this is telling me I don't really need anything, but I also feel like I've made some real progress in reducing my stash to better fit my storage this year, and I don't want to give up that hard won feeling of success.

And I just closed the cart without purchasing. I wish there wasn't such a buy now or miss out mentality in this hobby, I know it's fueled me to make purchases I probably wouldn't have otherwise made if I thought the products would be around longer. If they are still in stock the next time she has a sale I will reconsider whether I still want to add them to my stash, but hopefully if they sell out before then, the freshness and excitement will have worn off and I won't be disappointed anyway.

Chinagirl828 Kudos to you. I know it's hard to pass up on sale stuff that would fill some gaps and work with your current stash. I'm always of the mindset that if it's a major must-have that I just can't shake, it's more than ok to go for it. Otherwise, it's probably stuff I won't regret or get obsessed with down the line. Congratulations on making your stash slim down. The feeling is so rewarding!

I'm always of the mindset that if it's a major must-have that I just can't shake, it's more than ok to go for it. I'm still having the "maybe I should have bought it" conversation with myself even though I know I made the right decision. I just need to throw myself back into making pages so I can distract the part of my brain that wants to go shopping.

I wish there wasn't such a buy now or miss out mentality in this hobby I could not agree more. I just bought 5 of one sheet and 5 of another because it was from a 2020 collection that was hard to find, and for some odd reason that particular sheet in that collection wasn't carried at the major retailers. Also, Heidi Swapp Wolf Pack!! I was just scrapbooking with a friend and using that collection. They freaked out, and loved it and wanted to get it. Good luck, that collection is really no where besides maybe ebay and some stickers at scrapbook.com

I participated in a garage sale at my LSS and managed to sell 290 sheets of paper, as well as a number of other items I wasn't using. This puts me much closer to using/getting rid of twice as much as I buy, which is my goal for the year. There is another garage sale scheduled for the fall, so I will likely participate again to see if I can get purge a bit more.
I would have been well under my goal, but recently purchased some Spectrum Sherbet (see above mentioned buy now or miss out mentality). Otherwise I have been pretty good, and plan to keep it that way with lots of projects planned for my existing stash. I have a crop this weekend and have been getting organized so that I bring what I need rather than making spur of the moment purchases there.

Frozen for the Summer. I am not going to set foot (virtual or literal) in a scrapbook store for June, July or August. That is my goal. I essentially spent my summer scrapbook budget and then some on snapping up all the Pinkfresh I could find. oof. But I am delighted, and cannot wait for it to come in the mail.

I was going to buy some stuff from the Disney park-centric release from Elle's Studio but it turns out they ship worldwide except the European Union and UK. So, frozen I stay. It's still on theme for Disney, I guess... Me trying my best to embrace scrap companies not wanting me as a customer:

I've had a massive roll out of the freezer with an order from sb.com. I've picked up some staples (page protectors, adhesive, ink colours that fill gaps in my stash and which I have repeatedly wished I owned this year). I added a dozen sheets of patterned paper, about half from the Spectrum Sherbet line and a couple of other sheets I really love and am confident will be easily used, along with some of the SS birthday line embellishments as I've used most of my birthday themed pieces, and some of the Spectrum Sherbet embellishments just because I really like them and expect them to sell out before I next place an order.
So now it's back into the freezer for me to continue using up my stash while I wait for my new treasures to arrive.

That sounds like a lovely (and reasonable) haul, Chinagirl828. I hope you enjoy the Spectrum Sherbet--it is such a beautiful line and KikiPea has posted some beautiful layouts with it on Instagram. I split the embellishments with a friend, but now I am thinking I may need to grab a few more before they sell out. I am going to be scrapbooking a bit with a friend this weekend. So far I have one layout planned with the original Simple Stories I am and an old Kaisercraft line, as well as one with an old MME line. Hopefully I will get more done than that. It feels really good to dig into the old stash and use it!

That sounds like a very well-considered shopping trip, especially given that you are far away and probably need to strategize what you buy to maximise the shipping. And it sounds like you've been doing well making a dent in your stash

I don't really need to justify buying a few discounted 6x6 paper pads, but today I pulled out all of my remaining Christmas paper to see if I was fooling myself about *needing* to buy some more, and yes, I think this qualifies as almost running out. One full sheet, a couple of big scraps, a small pile of small scraps. I looked everywhere and was surprised that this was really it. Except for some embellishments and some foiled backgrounds, this is all of my Christmas stash until the four Echo Park and Carta Bella pads arrive in the mail. Yay for giving away what I would never use and using up what I had http://instagram.com/p/CeB5thzJ0Qk

I have a bit of a dilemma. I just sold $562 of scrappy stuff at a scrappy tag sale. Only “problem” is I don’t get the cash. I have 5 weeks to spend it at the LSS. I got rid of a lot of stuff I no longer use/want. My room was looking a bit better. Now I need to bring $562 worth of stuff into the room. Kind of defeats the purpose of purging. I did get some of the Sherbet collection because I love the colors & style. I would love a Brother Scan & Cut but they don’t sell that & won’t order it. Any ideas?

Will they let you buy store gift cards so you can spend the $ over time?

Maybe cutting plates, a small guillotine, blades, scissors, copics, adhesives, basic shapes dies you can use for many things (nested circles, nested ovals etc)? Things you’ll use up and that won’t clutter up your space too much. Trying to think of some more one off, larger priced items I’d go for if I had this conundrum! Or maybe something that holds its value for resale? Not sure what this would be. Or do you have scrappy friends that would be happy to give you cash and they spend the credit at the store?

Can’t use it on gift cards or classes or special orders. I really don’t need anything now. Staying frozen has been my goal for the year. I really struggled with it every month but overall was doing pretty well. And now that I’ve got so much to spend I’ve settled into being frozen. The plates are a good idea. I’ve got plenty of copics, but could definitely use refills for my favorites. Thanks for your help. Please keep ideas coming!

hmp are you a stamper? Could you get ink pads or stamp cleaner or something? Or could you get disposable stuff like adhesive (although $500 worth of adhesive is A LOT). Or scissors, cutters, or another tool you’d use and can store easily. What about organization stuff to help you keep organized? Or splurge and reward yourself with something you normally wouldn’t buy—although that attitude is why I need to do some purging! You could also get card stuff for holidays or a gift for someone?

Congrats on selling so much of your no longer loved stash hmp. I don't have any suggestions other than what has already been shared, but I hope you find something you're happy to bring into your space.
