Is it possible to move your mailbox? Or is it one of the community style mailboxes? Just a thought. No we can’t. But that would be an idea. Post office determines the location of mailboxes- not homeowners. I learned that a few years ago. Glad to see you found a solution.

Update Someone left us a bag of poop under the tire of the truck. A grown ass 60ish man (IF it is him) We do have a solution to the problem … since our driveway is on an angle we are switching sides and that should solve the problem. One side is slightly longer (a duh moment) What a thoughtful gift. I hope to hell it’s not him. If so, maybe it should be deposited at his house under his tire.

I feel for you living in that neighborhood with such a dummy.

Why do you hope it’s not that same man? WCD would now have issues with TWO individuals.

I would display a sign that says the house is under surveillance at all times.
He sounds like a guy who never learnt to raise and resolve issues in an adult way.

It's interesting to me to see how different all these rules are in other places. Here in my part of Northern Virginia the post office has nothing to do with where you put a mailbox if you live in a private home. Mostly we have mailboxes attached to our house near the front door, and it's just whatever mailbox you like. Some people have mail slots in their front doors. And if you have a fenced yard with a dog who might be outside at delivery time you can buy whatever mailbox you want and stick it out front outside the fence. No particular location as long as the carrier knows it's yours and not your neighbors. However, all our mail is delivered on foot, not by mail truck, so maybe that makes the difference?

When we built our house, we put our mailbox in. So long as it was on the right side of the road for the delivery truck, it didn't matter. Ours went across the street, and we placed it across from our driveway. It has our street number on it so the carrier knows it's ours. OP, how childish and rude to place poop under your truck. Seriously, how hard is to ask that the truck be off the sidewalk if it causes an issue. And if it doesn't, why does he care so much? My friend lives in a town where they ticket cars that block the sidewalk at all. It's a very high density area, and the town wants the sidewalks clear.

We would be ticketed if our cars are over the sidewalk. It is a requirement of our town not to block the sidewalk in anyway.

The parking issue aside, I thought this man coming up to your door and looking inside was creepy.
The bag of poop is so immature. I hope someone dropped it unknowingly but I doubt it.
Remember the ring has an alarm you can activate from your phone if he comes back to your porch.

That’s a pretty good update apart from the bag of poop. It happens a lot that sometimes the most obvious and best solution is staring us in the face and we just can’t see it. Glad you’ve managed to resolve things so easily.

Remember the ring has an alarm you can activate from your phone if he comes back to your porch. The poop bag was purposely put under the truck, right behind the passenger side under the tire. Thankfully son is observant and saw it when he walked around the truck. If it was me, I know I wouldn’t have seen it… I’m not that aware (well until now) I had to talk my DH down though… he was pissed. I called my police friend to get his suggestions and that helped a bunch. It calmed DH down. So we are hoping by moving the vehicles around he will stop.

I would take the bag of poop over to his house and ring the doorbell and proudly had it back to him with a comment something like, “I believe this belongs to you. It appears you dropped it on our driveway.”

That guy seems to be really invested in this! In my neighborhood, no one would ever call the police about parking over the sidewalk. You would, however, get a whole passive-aggressive thread about it on Nextdoor LOL!

I should check and see if anyone else has had problems with him.

It appears you dropped it on our driveway.” We are not sure where he lives.. .believe me though we are now watching for him and seeing if we can spot him. My youngest 'thinks' she has seen him at one house, so we are keeping an eye out on that house. I kinda think it is.. it's the only house on our street who's driveway (funny enough).. has a metal 'ramp' so that the person doesn't have to drive over the curb and there are two of those (stick em in the ground) lights so you can see where your driveway is (which is weird, it is a very lighted neighborhood and there isn't any true darkness). Makes this house look a little more cluttery. But whatever, I'm not that invested in stalking him out. Just might be good to know where he lives in case this continues.
