Do you think making a list will help me stick to my plan? Or will it be the straw that breaks it? I remember being at at TOPS meetings where we talked about all the foods we weren't going to eat anymore, and then stopping at DQ on the way home. I think it depends on you. I have a wishlist going at scrapbook.com but no real desire to hit the buy button. But it means I won't forget about the things I was interested in when the time comes to shop. And some of those things will be out of stock or no longer something I want when that time comes - which is okay.

I’m almost halfway there with 24 layouts done this month! Hoping to do the same in February.

I did this last year and it was painful because I am so slow. LOL So I am heavily modifying it. 1) I can buy any replacements necessary. 2) I can buy paper shaping tools if I find a good opportunity, esp 2ndhand. 3) Everything counts as one--one scrapbook page, one card, one scrappy video. If I keep up with all my goals in those areas, I should be able to shop after 2-3 months. Surely I can make it! <3 So far I have made 4 layouts, including one double page, so 5/50. Then I have also made 17 cards, so 22/50. And 9 videos, so 31/50. This is a way easier way for me to do this.LOL I'm liking it!! I've decided to wait on the paper shaping tools until I do hit my version of 50.

well...I hit my goal of 100 today. Not seeing much of a dent except in adhesive (I've used up 3 boxes of photo squares) and enamel dots. So I'm going to try and stay frozen for another 100 layouts.

AMAZING linda! That's fantastic. I am starting over too...but not because I hit 50. Because I shopped. (however I am not bummed that I shopped, two of the things I really needed and of course I went for those and some other things just magically fell into my basket. I swear, it is not the online shopping, it is when I go to a store. I start to think, well, I need to support my LSS...)

For those who asked how long it took me to put together 100 layouts, I would say about a month, working off and on. I did scratch layouts as I put them, no sketches this time, just pics, matted, embellishments, and titles/journaling. I completed 85/100 at my last 5 day crop...and I felt like I had accomplished a lot. My goals this year is keeping layout kits put together, as time allows, for day crops and a 3 day National Scrapbooking Day crop in May 2022...in between time of crops, I will continue to work on creating kits and keeping things organized.

I'm still at 2 LOs. And I shopped - picked up some stamps at Elle's Studio and didn't spend a ton, but still. I will probably go ahead and preorder the CV because I know I will kick myself if I pass now and it's gone when I finally finish my 50. I'm so bad at this lol. But I've passed up way more stuff that I would bought without a thought, so that's progress. Linda I've never had issues with black nuvo drops, in fact those usually come out just right every time. Holy cow 100 done already! You are my hero!

joyfulnana - good to know- they are on my wishlist for when I shop again. As for preordering - I think the real goal for most of us is to be more mindful of our purchases and only buy what we REALLY want/need so I think you're doing a good job there.

So if you can't stop thinking about the Cocoa Vanilla joyfulnana, then it's probably ok to buy it. For me it's all the "ooh, that's pretty" stuff that just gets added to my stash and never thought of again that I want to stop buying.

I'm officially half way towards my goal! I'm feeling really good about what I've made so far, and about what I've used, even though I can only just tell where I've been in my patterned paper drawer, and there's no noticeable dents anywhere else in my stash.
I know we've got some peas who have reached their goals already, but how is everyone else going?

I did buy two packs of cardstock (blue and purple) this weekend - they weren't an immediate need but will get used and they were 1.97 each. DH bought me 4 packs of themed stickers (but they don't count, right?)

I finished one page over the weekend, and what I've noticed, and I think this is what initially caused me to do this challenge, is once I start creating, the desire to shop fades. I know I use shopping as a way to feel like I'm engaging with this hobby when I'm tired, or not making time to scrap.
And after looking closer at the new CV line, it's very similar to Legendary which I have plenty of. There were a handful of papers I really wanted, because they are so versatile, but I have plenty of versatile papers in my stash, and there will be more that I love just as much in the future. I really want to complete the freeze first.

I know I use shopping as a way to feel like I'm engaging with this hobby when I'm tired, or not making time to scrap. Hope you get on a roll, now. I find that the hardest thing to do with crafting is GETTING STARTED. For me that means starting to scrap after only a few days away from it; starting to make pages after a series of cards, or visa versa; starting a new theme after spending time on a different one. Why is it that shopping for craft supplies it is so easy to get started? A test for me, today. I am going to be printing photos. That means I will be driving there imagining all the pages I could create with those pic's. Normally after I spend time selecting and editing photos at the kiosk in WalMart, I head to the LSS during the one hour wait time. Where I would be finding all those perfect little details that would go so great with the pages in my head. But today, I am NOT going to the that store!!! Not going to Michaels, either, even though it would be SOOOO tempting to pick up something for making dgs's class set of valentines this upcoming weekend. I know I have more than enough supplies here if we just use a little creativity.... Hey! 30 cards could certainly use up some stash. And if I count them towards LO's completed...

joyfulnana - great insights I find that the more I'm scrapping, the more conscious I am of what I do and don't use and how much of it I use. I'm less worried about overbuying adhesive, albums, cardstock than I am stickers, alphabets, PP, collection kits, embossing folders, stamps/dies etc... My layouts are cardstock heavy and having the right colour(s) cardstock is important to me. They are light on embellishments so I don't need a big stash there. I'm trying to use more PP lately - and I am finding that coordinating pieces are easier to use than random pretty pieces...so I'm planning to keep that in mind going forward while still reminding myself that paper pads take a LONG LONG time to use up. I focused on stamps/dies/emossing folders in recent years...now I need to focus on USING them, lol

what I've noticed, and I think this is what initially caused me to do this challenge, is once I start creating, the desire to shop fades. This is definitely the case for me too. I also find the more I dig into my older things, which this challenge always seems to make me do, the more I want to play with all the older supplies in my stash. As I've been flipping through my paper stash I've found papers that I bought last year that I had completely forgotten I owned. Given that my stash is not particularly large, that was a real wake up call for me to use more than I buy this year. I want to ride this creating high for as long as I can and get some noticeable space back into my storage (and perhaps find some pages I can use those "must have" purchases on).

I did it!☺️ At my 4 day crop, I finished 47 pages, plus the 12 I had done in January. I really haven’t had the desire to shop. Quite unusual lol. I spent less than $20 at the crop, I needed to support the small business after all! I will now try for 100 pages!

So not only did you get into the spirit of scrapping, but you developed a habit of not buying new stuff!
I completed 3 pages today, so two 2-page LO's this week. Not my most creative works, but they are done. Managed not to buy any scrappy supplies yesterday when I was in a town where I could have shopped hands on. After my buying binge end of last year, I still have everything I need--including glue and page protectors--to finish this project without spending another dime.

I'm at 24. I think I will set my goal to be 100 I’m inspired by the 100s. Since this is going easier for me this year (well I am counting more generously) I think I will change my goal to 100, too! I was so mad, I got a shipping notice for a spellbinder die club and I cancelled that several months ago! Thankfully, it was just a glitch. I was sweating, thinking I’d restarted it and forgotten. 😂😂
