Hugs kellyr21 - good to see you pop in! I enjoyed the crop today and hope to be able to join in more often. That uninterrupted scrappy time is great for getting layouts done and I love hearing everyone chatter - I'm just not so good at joining in. Now I need to clean off my desk so I can keep working, lol.

I enjoyed the crop as well. It was good to chat with msliz and nylene and Linda and justjac and others. So cool that you kept right on croppin' after I bowed out. I had played myself out being flustered looking for specific things, but after I had a nap I was able to calmly look through my Christmas stash and find what I was looking for. Not only was I able to finish the LO I started at the crop, but also to finish another one this morning. Can you see that deer-opening-gift sticker on this LO? Let's Open together by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Here is the LO I finished today. If you are wondering why there is a summer scene of bison grazing on a Boxing Day LO, my dgs created this drawing using a stencil I had ordered him for Christmas. He used one of my pens to outline it, and then he coloured it with my pencil crayons. Boxing Day Quiet by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Okay, I must do something else besides hang out in my scrap room today. I had planned to go to town to pick up the mail, but dh picked it up yesterday. The gift I had ordered for one of the boys in Calgary arrived a day early from Amazon. I could have done his card, wrapped up the gift, and taken it into town to the post office today, but it didn't turn out the way I wanted. I hate buying on line! The blurb had said for ages 8-12, but the box says Age 3+! It is also W-A-Y less cool than I thought it would be. It doesn't have much value-added to some of the stuff he has already. And even if it were SUPER cool, I don't see this ten year old having any enthusiasm for opening something that says ages 3+! So this morning I ordered a different gift to be sent directly to him from Amazon. It is supposed to arrive next week, the day before his bd. Dd recommended it b/c she and her ds had seen a teen using it and thought it was really interesting. I will put his card together over the weekend with a bunch of other bd cards I need to make, and then I can drop it at the post office on Tuesday. Now all the excitement is over, I guess I should go do laundry and wash dishes...

Happy Friday! Thank you nylene and linda! It feels good to be up to chatting with you girls again. I was at the gallery yesterday and saw some of the layouts. You all are still creating beautiful layouts. Have a nice evening!

I was at the gallery yesterday My heart lept when I read this...because I thought you maybe had another piece exhibiting at the gallery! How is your own art going? So glad to see you! grammadee - wonderful wonderful multi photo event layouts. They really give that christmas cozy excitement feel! I'm sorry your first amazon order didn't work out - it's pretty easy to return to Amazon thankfully. I think 95% of our Christmas was online shopping this year I'm scared about what that says about local retailers!!! I'm hoping to see some peas tonight at the virtual crop! I finished my diamond painting, and will NOT let myself open another until I don't want to clean or scrap, because boy do they zap time away.

So good to see you popping in kellyr21 ! I was at the gallery yesterday I thought the same thing as kitbop when I read this. I hope you are still making your beautiful art. grammadee I have a love/hate relationship with online shopping. I mostly love it though lol. I only went into the stores once this season. It's a bummer that the package wasn't what you were expecting. Your layouts are so cozy feeling, I just love them. I'll be at the crop soon! ETA: Linda, I think I could just crop quietly listening to everyone chat all day. Even the times everyone is quietly working, it's such a good feeling crafting with others.

grammadee - love the layouts - so much energy and fun! Sorry about the online shopping - it's convenient but only when you get what you're expecting. kellyr21 - I'll echo everyone else about your art! kitbop - I'm hoping to hop on later tonight - just got home and still need to make dinner joyfulnana - yes - that companionable silence is great too Long day here - up early to drop off DD15 by 8 about an hour away. And DH wanted to thrift shop and hit the flea market on the way home. I did get a couple of good books for 50 cents each so...shouldn't complain too much. Then laundry, laundry, and more laundry (and I'm not done yet) and some scrapbooking before we headed back to pick her up and stop in Target on the way home - the lines were SO long in there -yikes...and almost no one was masking (we were - and my sister has sent me good masks). Time to make dinner and move laundry and then hopefully pop in on the crop and work on the DD some more.

Happy Birthday, justjac ! I am making birthday cards this morning, before diving back into Christmas. Got myself in a real mess in here yesterday when I pulled out supplies for birthdays, hockey, and crafting to go with the Christmas clutter. Cleared off enough counter space to actually construct some cards. Went from OVER planning to grab & glue, but they are turning out nicely, I think. Now I need to figure out some kind of masculine card for my dh... Switch in gears again...
Going to join kitbop's virtual crop for awhile...

justjac, so sorry I missed wishing you a Happy Birthday. So belated Happy Birthday! I hope it was nice. How is your DMIL doing? kellyr21, I, too, was hoping you had some new art to post. I hope you are taking good care of yourself and getting some time to be creative. I used the slimline dies you suggested this weekend to make a b-day card. I really like the dies. Thanks for the recommendation. kitbop, I don't think I mentioned how pretty I think your wedding invitations are. You do such a beautiful job. No wonder people keep wanting you to do them. How is the Covid in your hospital? We have "through the roof" numbers, but fewer deaths with this variant. Linda, since meeting you online I always read your posts in your accent! It is so funny that that happens, but it always does. It's really fun to hear you talk. I love hearing my language in different accents. joyfulnana, I love just scrapping online even when no one is talking. It's just nice to feel like we are all sharing something. Our weekend was spent celebrating Doug's b-day with his family and we had Stake Conference on Sat and Sun that came right in the middle of the crop. Hopefully next Sat will be better. grammadee, I am so sorry that your online order wasn't what you wanted. I always fear ordering online when I haven't ever seen the item in real life. I just sent money to Anj for Drew's b-day and she's going to pick a new series of books for him. I made a cute slimline card (which I forgot to photograph) with a matching bookmark for his new books. Well, as of four o'clock today we will be afoot. I have been so mad at the insurance co of the woman who hit us. We have decided to take the salvage amount and pay $1000 to have them put our car back together like it was when we took it in originally. It may be 2 to 3 weeks before they will have the parts they cut up to see if the frame was bent. At least I won't be making 2 trips a day to Home Depot or the woodworking store. We will be homebodies. Maybe I will get some scrapping done without interruptions. I have lots of photos, not a lot of mojo, but when I pull papers maybe the mojo will come.

oh nylene - what a pain to be without your car especially through no fault of your own. ((((Hugs)))). I never really think of myself as having an accent but I guess I probably do I had a nice scrappy weekend but tomorrow DH goes back to work and DD15 goes back to school and I need to catch up on my sorely neglected housework.

I really hope all goes well with that vehicle reconstruction, nylene! And I can't believe they are not covering you for the rental while they correct THEIR mistake! Glad you have some family nearby if there is an emergency and you have to get out of there or need something delivered. I am sitting here GRRRRRing right along with you. Heehee, Linda, now THAT is a scrappable photo! No way is Charley getting her little paws into this room. Unless I wanted to post one of those funny cat videos... I have a pic of her on my phone. Will post here when I have phone in hand. Busy day yesterday. In Alberta age 75 triggers a set of hoops to go through for a drivers' license. Yesterday I saw the optomotrist (no need for new glasses and sight okayed for driving) and the doctor (who charged $50 for filling out a form that says I am healthy enough to be trusted behind the wheel). Took both signed forms to Alberta Registries. They took my photo, confirmed all the details for my license, shredded my old one and gave me a separate sheet of paper (temporary license until the "real" one comes in the mail). So now if I need photo ID for the next little while I will need to take my passport. Also printed some photos that were missing from the batch last week. And used some of my Christmas gift gc's at Marks work wearhouse to pick up some clothing at half price. Planning on scrapping this morning. Hoping some of you can join me on line for a couple of hours. On the GS board, I bumped up the thread about today's pop up crop.

I'm sorry about the hoops grammadee but I know my sister and I wished there were a few more hoops when my mum probably shouldn't have still been driving but refused to stop. It's a fine line I think between not -impeding those who are fine to drive while getting those who aren't any longer off the road. I am surprised they do on-the-spot licenses though - I've lived in 4 states and they've all done licenses/IDs while you wait. Planning on joining in your crop - DS's album is almost finished - I think 4 more layouts should do it.

Happy belated Birthday justjac!! oh my gosh grammadee Charley is a beauty. I would have such a hard time leaving her outside. But my sinuses don't act up either. If they did, I'm sure I wouldn't have any pets. The work weeks are flying by this month! I'm not sure why - it's definitely not because I enjoy work so much LOL! The days just get away from me. Not much scrapping getting done, but I'm planning to be in both crops this weekend with some football thrown in. nylene that's awful about your car. But I would be secretly glad I was being forced into staying home lol. kellyr21 I think a Rams/Chiefs SuperBowl would be fun. And a little scary, because I would the Chiefs to win lol. But if they lost to the RAMS I could be ok with it. I was so excited for Stafford to get his first playoff win! It was long overdue for him and I'm happy he left the Lions. Such a waste of talent staying there. Waving HI to everyone!!

grammadee, your Charley is such a pretty kitty. I'm glad she is satisfied being a patio cat because of your allergies. I'm sorry you had to jump through so many hoops to get your driver's license. Our state punches a hole in the old license and gives you a paper license until the new one comes in the mail. The paper one has our photo on it, just in black and white. You can fly if you have the paper and hole-punched license. joyfulnana, I hope you can get a lot of scrapping and football this weekend. I think I can get on Sat, but probably not Sunday. Does Rudy like football? other sports? Alex doesn't seem to be interested, but his parents aren't either so that makes sense. I'm glad the days are going quickly while you are working. I hope you are under less pressure than you were earlier in the year. I know how you feel about your mom driving. It was really hard to tell DH he could not drive. I tried for several years, and he let me do all the freeway and night driving, but when the eye doctor declared "legally blind" that ended it. How's Abby? Linda, I always have to laugh at your cats and the places they will sleep, climb, etc. I'm glad you have a "scrapping cat" to keep you company. They don't realize how lucky they are to be residents in your household! Are you kids still doing well together? I saw on another post that it has been colder there. What do Floridians consider cold? I seems the east coast is getting lots of cold this winter. MARIBETHR, you need to post your New Year's Cards on the Sheetload challenge thread. They are really classy. The inside is a great as the outside. I hope to do some scrapping today. It's amazing how much extra time I have when we can't leave the house. LOL

I seems the east coast is getting lots of cold this winter. The cats are great company especially since it's just me here at home from 8-5 most days (although DH comes home for lunch about 60% of the time). The older two seem to be doing great - looking forward to snow this afternoon. They've been building IKEA furniture, baking bread, playing board games, and watching movies - my phone has been pretty quiet - now they have each other to talk to, they don't phone me as much. They still text constantly though so I almost always know what they are up to. Florida cold? lately it's been in the 30s overnight and at the morning bus stop - buses don't have heat here. It's supposed to drop into the 20s over the weekend and next week. Today is 70 and sunny but the highs will be 40s/50s for the next week. I will say it tends to be a damp cold that feels colder than the dryer cold of New England (at least to me - it seeps into your bones). I think we've only turned the heat on once (and only to 62) - I run so hot most of the time. But Dusty definitely likes to be warm and snuggles under the blanket with me.

Good Friday morning. What are the Pokeys' weekend plans? I hope to join the virtual crop on Sunday. After people around so much over the holidays, it seems a bit of surprise that we are now going into the second weekend with "just the two of us". Pretty quiet out here on the farm. Those predicted temps sound cold for Floriday, Linda. Is there a danger to the citrus trees again? The temps took a deep dive here mid week, but are now back to near freezing, so--for NE Alberta--balmy for January. How are you doing, justjac? Any word on the latest tests your dMIL had? She and Dean must be exhaused after going through the grueling travel and testing yesterday. joyfulnana, I think my ds's beloved Bengals would love to spoil your Superbowl dreams. I can't even imagine the excitement in HIS household last weekend when they got through the wildcard round. This time of the year, he is usually sadly packing away all his Bengals blankets and flags and jerseys: last year I was talking to his wife and when I asked how everyone was, she replied "There is no joy in Mudville". Glad to see you playing with paper more, nylene, but I hope you can get your vehicle woes resolved soon. Okay, need to see what plans dh has for the day. If I am off the hook there, I think I will start making some embellishments for the next set of pages I hope to do.

Good Morning grammadeeWe're too far north in Florida for much citrus (the occasional backyard orange or meyer lermon tree is about all around here) and I think further south won't be quite as cold. Hopefully at least. Prayers justjac - that was a grueling day predicted for your MIL. I hope all went well. Not sure what the weekend plans are. DH's birthday is tomorrow so I'll have cake to bake and I'm making swordfish for dinner as a treat. He was muttering the other day about how he really can't keep putting off working at the old house another weekend so provided he follows through - I'll probably end up over there working too. Hoping to scrapbook at least sometime over the weekend though but possibly not online.

Happy Friday, everyone. We have only been without the car for 5 days and it seems like forever. I have, however, been able to get a lot of scrapping done. I look forward to scrapping online tomorrow with as many as possible. I have way too many photos that need to be scrapped. How are you doing, gramma? I know this is a busy time for you. How is your DMIL, justjac? She has really been through a lot and so has her family. knutschen, I am hoping that your tests came out ok and that you are well. Waving to each of you and hoping you have a great weekend. I'm off to scrap.

Happy Friday! Waving hi! Sorry guys, I meant to say the 2peas gallery. Lol! Just drawing here and there. Over the months, I have been working on embroidery, puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. joyfulnana- Football has been ramping up and it would be fun to see the Chief win it again. Yes, if the Rams win, we will all be excited. 🙂 The Superbowl will be here and I wonder how crazy will the city be?

Thanks for the birthday wishes. We had take out from a restaurant I like with Dean’s dad and brother. And trike chocolate cake. Dean ordered me some scrappy supplies I’m really excited about, but between supply chain issues and the postal service none of it came.
Also thanks for asking about my mil. Unfortunately the floor she is on in the hospital had an outbreak so her appointment was rescheduled for this Friday. We did find out her tumour is malignant. Due to the outbreak she doesn’t get to have any visitors which I think is actually harder on the guys than her. She’s on a Gravol drip to deal with her nausea so she’s pretty groggy.
I worked from home this week because of an outbreak of Omicron. I’m not sure if I’ll be back in person next week or not.
Thanks for being such good friends.

justjac , I am so sorry about your DMIL's diagnosis. I'm sure Dean and his dad are struggling with being unable to be with her. This Covid has really thrown a wrench in so many lives. I'm sorry your teaching is affected too. Do you teach all day online when the students can't be in person. You and your family are in my prayers. kellyr21 , I love seeing your smile pop up. What kind of embroidery are you doing? Puzzling sounds relaxing. I had too many people around over the holidays and didn't have a place to leave a puzzle set up. My Christmas puzzle is still sitting unopened. Did you take down your Christmas decorations? Mine are still up and Steve is encouraging me to leave the village up all year. I'm afraid it wouldn't be as special if it were up all year and it takes one end of the living room. Of course with Covid, we don't have visitors in the living room anyway. It sounds like you are taking life easy and that's what you need. Please drop in when you feel like it and keep us updated. We miss your beautiful art. I am blessed to have your painting on my scraproom wall and I think of you every day!

The Superbowl will be here and I wonder how crazy will the city be? Wait. So it's possible the Rams could be playing at HOME in the SB? that would be awesome! I'm rooting for them today! grammadee I'll bet it's crazy joyful at DS house this morning! What a game! I was rooting for the Bengals. They have a special team and a special QB. It's fun to watch him play. With both home teams being upset yesterday I have ALL my fingers crossed for the Chiefs today lol. Doesn't the quiet feel good after all the festivities? At least it does for me. I sink right into it lol. justjac I'm so sorry to hear this about your MIL. I wish I had words. Covid has messed things up so much. And no scrappy supplies either. Man they said the mail was going to slow down even more here in the US and that's no lie. I'm still waiting on package that shipped on the 12th. From only 2 states away. Fingers crossed you get back to in person teaching soon. nylene I agree with you that the village won't feel as special if you leave it up all year. And boy howdy does Rudy hate football lol. I threaten him with watching it when he's getting too ramped up and rambunctious for me LOL! He still can't figure out when I'm teasing, but I think he's catching on lol. MARIBETHR your New Years Card is beautiful! Thank you! Well I need to get things started and get ready for the crop. I'm going to see if clearing a space for Abby will keep her off the workspace lol.

(((((Hugs))))) to you and your family, justjac. Will Dean be able to go to the rescheduled appointment with his mom? Were they planning to do any tests or treatments at the Cross? Or is this something like a consultation that could be handled with a video conference with the oncologist(s) and the family? It was good to see your face a couple of times this week on line, nylene. I am hoping to spend some serious time scrapping in the virtual crop today. Have all my paper cookies cut and decorated. Just need to get them on some pages with some junior chef photos. Ha Ha. Had to giggle about "threatening" Rudy with having to watch football, joyfulnana. One set of dgs's feel that way about Curling. Their dad agrees. When the power went off one day when I was there, he told he kids it was b/c "Gramma was watching curling." Happy belated birthday to Mr. Linda. What did you end up doing to celebrate? My dh's birthday is this coming Thursday. We are driving to the next town to have Chinese food in a restaurant there with dh's family. He also wants to invite one of his friends, and we may have to pick him up to drive him there. I have to remember to call the local bakery tomorrow and order a cake. Okay, off to clear a space for my iPad to sit while I scrap...
