nylene - I'm glad that you've been able to make the best of the car-less situation by scrapping but what a pain. hi kellyr21justjac - I'm glad that you had a nice birthday dinner - I hope your scrappy presents arrive soon. I'm so sorry to read the update on your MIL - I continue to keep her and all of you in my prayers. ((((Hugs))) joyfulnana - how did clearing a space for Abby work? Dusty always seems to find his own space and it's rarely where I had in mind for him. grammadee - nothing exciting for DH's birthday really - I made swordfish for dinner and we had yellow cake with chocolate frosting for dessert with his favouite ice cream. He seemed pleased with his gifts though. DD15 and I got our flu shots today - and she's scheduled for her covid booster on Friday. Our cases are at an all-time high here and the positivity rate is nearly 30% so you know there's plenty of people NOT getting tested also. Nearly 1.8% of our county tested positive LAST week alone. And yet - hardly anyone is masking...(and we're still in the 40s for % vaccinated)

Good Monday morning, Pokeys! I enjoyed hangin' out on line at joyfulnana's virtual crop yesterday until my back started complaining. But I managed to finish three Christmas baking LO's over the weekend, and then one non-Christmas related baking LO today while I still had the baking scrappy supplies out. Getting to the point where I really want to pack away all the holiday crafting supplies. Right now the holiday and winter photos are all in one envelope. I need to sort my pic's again and make a list of how many more Christmas themed pages I need to put together. I will be hosting a virtual crop on Wednesday morning (9:30AM MST, so 11:30 Eastern). Hoping to complete at least a couple LO's then. Maybe if I get the pic's sorted, I could actually assemble some page kits with the Christmas ones to see what holiday themed supplies I will need for them. Right after I order dh's cake...

Good afternoon Pokeys! What kind of cake are you ordering grammadee? I'm sure it'll be yummy! I'm hoping to join you on Wednesday for the crop - still working on November 2019 photos Right now I'm labelling scans of memorabilia from mum's collection and putting the physical pieces into page protectors with a sheet of white cardstock which is labelled also.

Oh Linda clearing a space for Abby did not go as planned lol. I got her bed set up (with treats in it!) and she laid smack in the middle of my workspace. She resisted being picked up lol. Once I got her down, she went off in a huff and didn't come near the table again lol. grammadee I'm so ready to pack my December supplies away and move on to other things too. I'm going to really push myself to get it finished up before Feb so I can participate in 28-4-28. One question about 28-4-28, does every day have a sketch? I want to start pulling things, but don't know if I should pull the last few sketchy sketches to use. Holy cow the football games last weekend! I was 4-4 on my picks. Too bad I'm not a gambler The Chiefs came was nuts at the end lol. And there is still a chance it could be a Rams- Chiefs Superbowl. kellyr21! I hope everyone is having a good week so far!

joyfulnana - I'm not surprised about Abby - cats do what cats want to do... as for 28-4-28 - each day of the week has its own theme for the challenge so no, not 28 days of sketches

grammadee I'm so ready to pack my December supplies away and move on to other things too. I'm going to really push myself to get it finished up before Feb so I can participate in 28-4-28. One question about 28-4-28, does every day have a sketch? I want to start pulling things, but don't know if I should pull the last few sketchy sketches to use. Print out your other sketches. Just the Saturday ones for February. Other challenges have to do with things like product, theme, shapes, etc. Each will have a sample, though, and those can be lifted/ used like sketches. I have more Christmas themed pages left to do than I thought. Had hoped to be done by end of January, but now thinking they will work as well for 28-4-28 challenges as any other pages. Not sure what I will do next Monday. If I make up page kits with the remaining holiday pic's, I can stow away the other Christmas scrappy supplies. But then I may not have what I need for the particular challenges. Once I close the door to that corner cupboard, I don't want to open it again until card making time. But maybe mixing them up a bit with other pages and focusing on meeting the challenges will take my mind off the track of Getting. This. DONE. and put some fun back into the process.
Don't think I will get any scrapping done today. Dh has a project going that may need some help, and I need to drive to town to have a blood test and then pick up some groceries/run errands. At some point today, I may collect supplies/ideas for tomorrow morning's virtual crop.

Hello, Pokey friends. I have some happy news to share. The collision company called and there is a chance they will have our car put back together tonight or tomorrow morning. They have been waiting for the necessary parts from GMC. Yesterday Em called her dad to tell him she was making a run to Home Depot and he could go if he wanted. He jumped on the offer and I stayed home and scrapped! I have decided that the numerous trips that DH needs to make each week are not "tool" necessities, but "mental health" necessities. He feels very house-bound not being able to drive and having no car has been very hard on him. It will be great to have transportation again. DH's finger is healing nicely. I took a photo to scrap, but will wait and add a before and after. For those that don't know, he had an accident with his table saw. It just took half his fingernail and the tissue down to the first knuckle. He must have just barely touched the anterior finger on it. He was very fortunate. joyfulnana , I have to chuckle about Abby. She really is her own little person! I hope she decides she likes what you have prepared for her. It sounds like you are getting all ready for 28-4-28. I always enjoy that month. grammadee , thanks for setting up the crop yesterday. That was fun and I finished a layout. I am enjoying your Christmas layouts even if you are getting tired of them. LOL. I forget to take photos in all the hustle and bustle. Happy Birthday to Grampadee! Linda , you are doing a great job hosting the Paper Posse. I am impressed that you keep right up on the chat thread AND the sharing thread. I'm behind again! justjac , how are things progressing with your DMIL? I know this must be hard on your family. Waving to each of you Pokey friends! To show you how much I consider all the Pokeys and online scrappers to be "real" friends; when I gathered my things and headed to the scraproom to join the crop yesterday, I thought "oh, I forgot my mask" and turned around. I never see anyone without my mask on, so it was instinct. Thank you all for being my friends!

Oh. my. goodness. I had a whole post written, and my squirrel brain decided suddenly I needed to change the tablecloth. Now. Which meant moving the laptop briefly. And I hit the wrong keys as I moved it and closed the browser... mantra to self... finish what you start before starting something new! nylene- did you get your car back? I totally understand your DH finding some enjoyment in wandering around Home Depot! It would be like us wandering at Michaels. It's -22 F outside right now. My routine is to do weekly shopping on Saturday mornings. But I am waiting until after lunch to let it warm up a few degrees! I enjoy doing the shopping with DH. However, he does not feel the same way He does a LOT of the shopping for us, but it's "in and out" for him. I'm always thinking of ways to stock up the pantry, so when he and I go together he gets a little impatient (but is generally a good sport). I made a scrappy purchase yesterday... I had a paper pad in my shopping care at Simon Says Stamp for a while, but they wanted a $10 surcharge to ship to Canada so I was hemming and hawing. Then, Kristina Werner spotlighted it in a video, and of course, it was sold out immediately! So suddenly I had FOMO, and tried to find another source...which I did on Amazon! Free shipping, good price. Won't be here for 3 weeks, but whatever. This one:

kitbop , that paper is gorgeous and free shipping makes all the difference. We did get our car back yesterday but we can't use the back door. There was nothing at all wrong with the door when we took it in, but now it needs a whole new inside mechanism and handle? ? They will be waiting for a part so they took pity on us and let us take it until the part comes. It seems ridiculous that the scrapes and tiny dents that were there when we took it in are still there and we are still paying over $1000 to have them put it back together. I have not been a happy mama. I am glad that we have transportation again though and appreciate the adjusters concern for leaving us afoot. LOL, DH in Home Depot is like me in a scrapbook or fabric shop. He is very like your DH, kitbop , in the grocery store though. I am trying to get all my Sat. work done early so I can get "on with the Peas" as DH calls it this evening. I am trying to get some boxes of cards made for my DSIL who turns 80 and has a b-day dinner tomorrow night. If I have enough cards I would like to make one for each of my sisters who will be at the dinner. I hope I have enough cards already made so I just need to make the boxes. Off to finish the laundry!

Happy Weekend, Pokeys! What a disappointment to get your vehicle back in that condition, nylene. I would want the insurance adjuster to look at it now to see that the original dents weren't removed. I would also worry that if that is the way it LOOKS, how will it OPERATE? Grrrr... That paper pack looks gorgeous, kitbop, and yay on the free shipping. I am frozen for at least a couple more months, I think. But no danger of running out of anything in the meantime LOL. I hope the storm does not hit you too hard, msliz. It is sunny and mild here today, but I hear snow is coming during the week. Funny about shopping with your dh's, kitbop and nylene. My sons are very much like your dh in the grocery store, kitbop: get in; grab what you need; and get out. My dh takes FOREVER to shop, wherever he is doing it. I get that he enjoys browsing in Princess Auto and Home Depot and Canadian Tire, but even in the grocery store, when he takes a meticulous list with him, he still likes to stop and chat with everyone he knows. When I grocery shop I tend to go with a list of only unusual items, and cruise the aisles quickly to see what might be on sale or what produce or meats look good. I wanted to share a couple of pages I put together this morning. I love that justjac and I are able to get together to exchange gifts for Christmas and our birthdays. Haven't managed the birthday get together yet, but I scrapped us at Christmas. Scrappy gifts are fun to give and to receive, and the Advent calendar she gave me this year gave me a little fun every day all month! Even used some of the cute little stamps and dies on this LO... Hi Pokeys! Well my football season is over lol. Another heartbreaker. It's a bit of a relief. Now I don't have to pace and curse and try not to have a heart attack during the SuperBowl too. I'm rooting for your Rams kellyr21 to take it all! Man, my weekend has been packed! I had Rudy Friday night, then spent yesterday running all the errands and driving 40 minutes one way to check out a LSS. It was not a wasted trip lol. I ended spending pretty much the last of my Christmas cash. She had 6x8 page protectors that I need to finally finish my DD. I'm so over that album lol. And the Chloe cat line by Bella Blvd. It's an older line and I've wanted it since I got Abby so score! I got home late afternoon and had to get a call in to mom. Today I had Rudy again- through the whole game. He hates football. So that gave me the good reason I "needed" to get a small TV for the bedroom nylene I'm glad you got you're car back, but what the heck? They broke the door?! I used to be slow, browse around shopper, even when buying groceries. Now I'm more get in get out. I don't like the crowds so I would much rather do everything online and have it shipped, or go pick it up curbside. kitbop that paper is pretty! I can't wait to see what you do with it. Are you going to use it for cards, or layouts? grammadee you and justjac are so lucky. I love seeing the pages you both do of your times together. I have not done much scrapping this month, glad I have more time to earn points. I'm really itching to get some 12x12 pages done. I don't think I'll do a whole album just for December again, it's not my cup of tea, but at least now I know lol.
