I'm only here to say I thought the title was "the point of antlers". I was SO confused as to what anyone could possibly say about antlers that required 3 pages! lol 🙍  carry on And I finally opened this threading thinking people were maybe using altars (thought maybe title was spelled wrong haha) in their home decor and what was the point of that. I don’t know I was baffled too, especially as I call alternate profiles/characters alts so I really wasn’t expecting this and now I’ve just sat and read this whole thread for no real reason. 😂 😑 |

I am the first to admit I am terrible with names but I honestly don't remember anyone deleting an account and immediately starting a new one. Most people delete accounts after getting upset about something. Maybe they don't hair flip but they flounce off for a little while and then they come back after a period of time and they create a new account. I honestly can't think of anyone that did it immediately and certainly not with such a weird excuse as "New Year, new me" when they're posting exactly the same. Honestly most come back, I think, pretending that they aren't the person we all know they are. Ilovetocolor, for example. That is one name I do remember and it was pretty obvious, as much as they denied it, that they were Lauren. I am probably wrong since I don't remember names very well, which is why I asked, have there been people who deleted an account and immediately created a new one? I don’t remember names, but I think I remember people announcing it. Could be I’m muddled and they just changed their name within the same account. (Can you do that?). Regardless, I don’t get why it’s attracted so much attention. Maybe she has a private reason why she wants a new start. Maybe she got wigged out about the sheer amount of herself she’s left on the internet. Or maybe it’s just what she’s explained - repeatedly. Her business, really. We’ve been fine with name changes in the past; I don’t agree that this is that different, but probably because I don’t agree that, as a community, we need access to someone’s posting history for archival reasons. But moving on to real alters, I'm chuckling because you made me remember that I was among the few who didn’t think ILoveToColor was Lauren…or I thought it was Lauren newly using spell check. Lauren was a godawful speller. LOL. You can change your name within the same account, that is what I did within a day of finding this board (I explained it elsewhere) that is why people can’t tag “Skellinton”. I don’t access people’s past posts either, but I think we will have to agree to disagree that this is different then people who leave and come back. It has nothing to do with accessing her past posts, I just think it is super weird to do and does make reading posts that she is still posting to and bumping up confusing to read. Especially when her reason is because she wants to start fresh, or whatever she said, yet has not changed one bit that anyone can see. |

It sometimes takes me a long time to figure out who is who between Tapatalk on my phone and the browser on my laptop. |

It is weird because you aren’t changing your pro boards account name, you’re just changing what shows up for everyone to see. And people using Tapatalk still just see your account name. I only recently downloaded Tapatalk to be able to post photos after using a browser window on my phone before. Your information above sure explains a lot. I tend to be fairly oblivious to who is posting and certainly have no recall for people's historical posting for the most part, but even I was confused on Tapatalk by some of the names. Thanks for the heads up. |

Thanks for the heads up. I think it’s Zee where I still see her *old pea initial name* on Tapatalk, and I have to remember that she’s Zee (on proboards) now. Tapatalk certainly makes it *much* easier to upload pics though. |

I don’t look at peoples past posts either, unless they give me a clear reason to, like the latest alt. *I* wouldn’t delete mine because (to me) they’re my accountability. Thats me.
