I generally sleep in a longish tank, no undies. Year round. I actually opened my window last night to sleep because I got hot… I have no idea how cold it was overnight, but at 9 am it’s 12°F outside (-11°C). It was heavenly.

Around the house, I wear pajamas (leggings, thin capri lentgth pajama pants or longer boxers with a tank top, and if necessary a long sleeve tshirt). I also have an "around the house" thin hoodie that can be layered over the rest.
When sleeping, I wear panties only. I don't like wearing any other garments when I sleep. If I get really cold then I will add another throw blanket.

Our heater goes off at night and I sleep with me door to the deck partly open so it gets COLD - no way could I sleep nude. Even with a super heavy down comforter plus quilt I’d be cold.
I sleep in in flannel pajamas or often bc it is so cold in morning and ideally I get up early and run - I sleep in some of my running clothes 😮

Spring, summer, fall, winter - birthday suit. I like to be free under the covers/blankets. I do have clothing items laying by my side of the bed for earthquakes that I need to get out if bed for. Same. If it's very cold I might wear leggings and a long, close fitting shirt that won't twist too much. But I hate wearing anything. I just tolerate those when cold. Rarely. I toss and turn a ton and hate things getting twisted.

In cold months, I wear pj bottoms with cuffs, so they don’t ride up. Lots of layers on top. My house is quite *drafty*, so really, don’t take my advice. 😜

Top is a tank/t-shirt/sweatshirt depending on the weather. Bottom is either underwear or light sweatpants, once again depending on the weather. We don’t keep the a/c or heater on when we sleep.

Leggings and a fitted, ribbed tank top. If it’s cold, I’ll throw on a long sleeve henley style pajama shirt over the tank.

2 piece pj's. I have to have my legs covered. Never could stand having a nightgown ride up on me.

I generally wear a loose t-shirt and a pair of pajama bottoms (or pajama shorts when the weather is warmer.) I can’t wear long sleeved pajama shirts because I get too overheated. If I wear a nightgown, my legs get too cold so this is what works for me!

I wear pyjamas with a short sleeved T-shirt, but I never sleep in the bottoms. I can’t stand anything round my legs at night.

Always pajamas. I hate things that ride up in the night so the pants need to taper-no wide legs.

I wear both/either. Mostly two pieces in the winter and nightgowns (which are really more like slips) in the summer. No joke, you could wear a "union suit" type pajama - a one piece with no waist band. ETA: like this This is what I do also. I need the leg warmth of flannel bottoms during the winter, even in Southern California. Could you try the type of bottoms that have a drawstring in the waistband instead of elastic? That would allow you to loosen it to the point where the pants won't fall down, but also not put any pressure on your skin. I have one pair of sweatpants that have the drawstring (actually have them on at this very moment) and I tend to keep it pretty loose.

Pants with a top.
Must be Solid color only. Must have pockets. No exceptions. Where I live now 1/2 the town can see me when I take the dog out.
No more Eeyore jammies for me.

Ribbed tank and cotton undies (year round). I have a couple pairs of Soma pj sets that I wear if we have company, for Christmas morning, when I travel with someone other than dh, etc. The waist band on these is so comfortable. They also have night gowns, shorts, long sleeve, short sleeve, tank, etc. High recommend and a great sale right now. Soma Cool NIghts

I don’t like bare legs when I’m sleeping and I can’t handle how nightgowns twist. ]I wear PJ pants and a t shirt. I don’t like long sleeves when I’m sleeping.

I’m a loose t shirt and soft stretchy loose shorts pj person. Can’t stand night gowns or long pants when I sleep. No socks allowed!

We all use pretty two piece pj sets as loungewear at home.
We change from outside clothes into loungewear as soon as we come home for the day.
For sleep, we all strip down to just underwear.

I wear satin two-piece pajama (shorts). Usually wear just the top to bed because I don’t like anything around my waist then throw on the matching shorts when I get up and lounge around. It MUST be satin. I love how satin never catches on anything, even my cozy flannel or fleece sheets.

I wear yoga pants day and night, or if I need to go out I'll change into jeans or whatever's appropriate.
For you, OP, I think the union suit (no waistband) idea might be a good one.
Or alternatively, you can find pajama pants that tie at the waist rather than use elastic, so you can untie them after you get into bed. Look in the men's clothing section.

I have some of everything, flannel pjs, cotton t shirts, shorts, slip nighties. My DH bought me a nightgown one year for Christmas, I call it my Little House on the Prairie nightie as it's full length and looks just like something Ma would wear!!! Funny thing is that I like wearing it as it is comfy and very soft!!

Loose leggings and a tank or t-shirt snd socks. I can’t stand my feet or legs to touch each other at night (weird) so I keep them covered. In the summer time I do wear Capri leggings. I used to wear night shirts of cute two piece sets but switched as these are more comfortable.

Or something else? For modesty, I must wear something. For years now, I've worn two piece pajamas. But recently I've become touch sensitive to having a waistband touching my skin at night. So I'm thinking of buying nightgowns. But how do you keep your legs warm if you wear them in winter (ours is cold)? Do you have any recommendations? I prefer the long nylon night gowns. My legs stay warm in the winter by using an extra blanket on the bed that is folded so it covers my thighs down to my feet. I also have socks I only wear to bed. warm feet keep me warmer all over.

I have so many pairs of pajama pants that I have to have two drawers for them. I also have matching 2 piece sets. I have winter ones and summer ones. When I'm sleeping alone, I tend to get cold, so I have thicker pajamas for that and thinner cotton ones for sleeping with DH or during summer.
I occasionally sleep in underwear or nude but only rarely, because I don't like when I eventually warm up and my thighs stick together if I get sweaty (sometimes I get hot flashes, though I haven't had any in a few months). And I prefer to sleep in a sports bra because these implants are very heavy compared to what my breasts felt like! I like them secured.

I sleep in undies and a tank top or t-shirt. Sometimes in winter I will wear two piece PJs while I am watching TV, then take them off when I go to bed.
I don't know how people wear nighties / nightgowns. On the few times I've worn one, it drove me nuts because it kept bunching up - so uncomfortable.

I change into pajamas after dinner. Mostly a pajama pant and a matching cotton ss tee. I take off the bottoms before getting into bed.

It MUST be satin. I love how satin never catches on anything, even my cozy flannel or fleece sheets. This!!! Winter, it's long pants/sleeves. Summer, it's a silky nightie. I sleep like a tornado, and I go out of my MIND if my pajamas twist or bunch. Slippery jammies have been a life-changer.
