Well I decided to go forward and not to go backward. It was just too overwhelming for me. So I made a plan on Friday and printed a few cards for my album. After receiving the journal I decided it's too thin for my OLW. I have today off work and all my supplies out ready to work on things. And mom I am so glad to hear that peace is finally making itself known to you. ❤️

I've never used it so I wasn't sure how thick the pages would actually be. Have fun playing with your supplies today! I am having to do some cleaning but I am hoping to get done in time to work on some scrappy things this afternoon.

So I'll just use that and use the journal for something else.

I started my January prompts yesterday and hope to have them finished today. I am glad I waited for my “stuff” to get here.
My word is upgrade and it is going well for me. I have already “upgraded” my spice cabinet and baking cabinet and have fallen in love with cooking again.

I like the way the begin story kit for January integrates with the OLW mini kit. However I almost feel like the papers/cards have a waxy finish to them. I can't get my stamp ink to dry. I'm smearing everything. It's driving me nuts.
And I'm really disappointed in the stamps. Both the alphas and the ones that came with the mini kit. I feel like no matter what I do I can't get a clear image.

jeremysgirl oh that is frustrating! I looked to see if I had stamped on my begin kit (or my stories by the month stuff) and I didn’t. I don’t know much about the different types of inks but do you have another kind to try and see if that helps?

Thats so disappointing for the price of the kit. It is disappointing. I probably need to up my stamp technique too. Maybe there is a trick I'm missing. All I know is that I've never struggled with stamping so badly as I did with this project. With that said, though I was able to sit down today and map out five weeks worth of goals. It was awesome. All I need to do is journal each week. So I feel like I just set myself up for success.

I would suggest contacting them about the stamps. I had the same issue (no depth) with a Heidi Swapp stamp, and I kept thinking it was just me. I was able to get a replacement stamp, and it was soooo much better. I don't know if AE and Heidi Swapp use the same manufacturer or not since they are both part of Inked, but it's worth a try to contact them. Stamps are a long-term investment.

I won't be using them anymore. Hopefully the second quarter kit has a better stamp. I was at work when I read this (not that I would look at 2Peas at work... ) and I got a little concerned. So when I got home this evening, I stamped from the mini-kit. Much to my relief, the image was perfect as usual. I think you may have received a bad stamp. I would start a conversation and get it replaced. The only thing I did to the stamp prior to stamping is what I do with all my clear stamps: I gently used a Tombow Mono sand eraser on it to "prime" the stamp. Then I used VersaFine Clair pigment ink and got a really good image. I think AE's pigment inks would have worked well, too.

I would post a photo of what I stamped if I could embed the photo like on FB...but I think you have to host photos somewhere else here and use a URL (link)...and I'm too lazy to do that.

Please let us know if the replacement works better. I hope it does. And I did not report the alphas. They stamped fine on regular paper. They just didn't like the slick surface of Ali's paper in the Begin kit. I had a terrible time with ink drying on that paper. I left it out for like 24 hours to dry. But the OLW mini kit stamps were terrible.

I haven't tried to stamp on either...yet.... I have barely started on Project Life this year. I'm doing good with OLW, but hope to work on Project Life soon.

I'm not an ink expert, either, but I've stopped buying Distress Inks because they don't work well for me in stamping on my Project Life cards and papers. I am really liking the Altenew and Versafine Clair inks lately. But, again, I'm a baby stamper...maybe someone more experienced with inks and stamping could provide some advice?

I think distressed inks work better on some surfaces vs others. Also glad you posted about the mini kit stamps so I could get mine out and test them. Mine are fine but you just never know.
I am using versafine onyx black now and having much better results than I did with ranger or staz on.

Thanks for posting that jeremysgirl I got mine out and it’s bad. I could feel it as soon as I took it off the backing. Barely any difference between the stamped words and the background. Did CS get back to you? I’m starting a convo.

I've tried to do OLW so many times and I never make it through February. It seems like no matter how much thought I put into my word, it ends up not resonating with me. This year feels different. Early in December I started thinking about whether I wanted to participate. Immediately, the word COMPLETE jumped into my mind, and I knew it was my word. I have been excited about tackling my word.
I am focusing on my word in two different ways this year. I am absolutely amazing at starting projects. I am absolutely horrible at completing anything. Always have been. I have so many projects and plans that I have started over the years. My closets are full of unfinished projects. I have decided that this is the year that I will COMPLETE my unfinished projects. If it's something I have started and it's not sparking joy, then I will thank it for the joy it brought me in the moments that I did work on it and I will toss it. If it's important to me I will finish it by the end of the year.
The second way I am focusing on my word COMPLETE is I want to do a COMPLETE decluttering of my apartment. I tend to be a bit of a packrat. When I was married I was living in a large, 4-bedroom house with lots of space. When I divorced, I moved into a small 2-bedroom apartment and I brought too much stuff with me. My life is cluttered and it makes me feel not at peace when I walk through the door at the end of my work day. I have a picture in my mind of what I want my space to look like. I need and want to make that a reality.
I signed up for the class and am doing my journaling in a notebook from Walmart. I am loving watching the videos in the classroom. I haven't had a chance yet to sit down and make my vision boards, but I have been tearing pictures out of magazines getting ready for them. I am hoping to get to them this weekend.

I sat down this afternoon with a stack of magazines and tore out pictures and words for my vision boards. I wasn't necessarily looking for things that went with my word COMPLETE. I was just tearing out anything that jumped out as appealing to me. I didn't overthink it.
I absolutely loved the way my boards turned out!! I ended up doing four small ones to adhere to pages in my notebook. I don't have good lighting right now to take pictures. I will try to do that tomorrow.
