The question to McConnell was “What do you say to voters of colors who are concerned about not passing the VRA they won’t be able to vote in the mid-terms?”

To me it comes off like he views "black people' as separate from other Americans, a different category. There are Americans..and then there are Blacks. IDk how he can spin this, its terrible.

He's not worth the benefit of the doubt anymore -- which I'd give to almost anyone else. He said exactly what he meant.

He said the quiet part out loud.
Which seems to be the entire GOP platform now. 🤷🏼♀️

Don't even have to listen, watch his body language. The way he moves his hand as "the other" then back towards himself as "American."

Really? He meant exactly what he said. I'm not sure why we need to beat the racist republican dead horse around here.

The simplest explanation, the one consistent with everything else you know, is the best one.

It sounds like he is loosely comparing the ratio of registered black voters and subsequent black votes to the same ratio for the overall voting population. Such as 100 black registered voters and 70 black votes compared to 1000 total registered voters and 700 votes. I didn't hear the racism.

I am enjoying thinking about his staff right now in an absolute panic about how to explain this. I really can't come up with any other meaning than "Blacks vote in the same numbers as whites (who I see as the real Americans.)
And the tragedy is that his supporters don't care that he revealed his world view, because they share it. They will save their outrage for things like Biden saying trillion and then correcting himself and saying billion.

He’s a horrible human. Mid day he meant exactly what he said.
He views black people as “other than” American.

I'm sure y'all will slam me for replying but I am not understanding this the same way a lot of you are. Granted, McConnell could have used better wording to make his point but this is what I get from his statement:
If 80% of the student population of a school is voting - you have 160 of the 200 students voting. If there are 90 boys in the school and 72 of them are voting, then boys are voting in just as high a percentage as the school population...80%.
Maybe I'm interpreting this wrong but it's how I see it.

Yeah, let’s ignore the fact that one of these guys is fighting for voting rights for all (in real life, not just on paper) and the other one is explaining why he’s against protecting those voting rights.
