I just did a layout with an old Love Elsie line. It is the one that says "I love art". I even used the adhesive fabric that came with the line. The adhesive was shot but that is what tape is for. I even used the rub-ons and they worked fine. It also had what they called "gel embellishments". I would think that would be epoxy but they were thicker and not yellowed at all. The adhesive was great. I also had stickers and chipboard buttons.
It's not my best layout from a design standpoint but it was fun to dig out older papers and different embellishments. Love Elsie had some of my favorite papers- I think it was one of the first lines to use handwriting instead of computer generated fonts. I loved the childlike feeling of the stuff.
I think the manufacturer was KI, wasn't it? I loved how bright and graphic their lines were. The embellishments were cool- I still have a lot of acrylic, chipboard buttons, and other things from them. I miss the days when there was a broader range of embellishments than now.
Besides Basic Grey, which I think almost everyone misses, what old scrapbook manufacturers/lines did you like? Have you scrapped with any of them lately?

Old school SC papers. Like 2013-2014 - I've been making a concerted effort to use OLD kits and I have so many. I've made several layouts using old kits.
October afternoon. I have hoarded it. Cosmo Cricket. Found a bunch when I was reorganizing/cleaning up. Sassafrass. I liked their funky embellishments. Used some on a card before Christmas.

I just did a layout with an old Love Elsie line...I think the manufacturer was KI, wasn't it?... Yes! While I have supplies from several defunct companies (e.g. Jenni Bowlin, SEI, Sassafrass Lass, Cosmo Cricket, Arctic Frog, Little Yellow Bicycle) in my inventory, I especially miss the creativity, classic patterns, versatile embellishments, & usable color palettes of Chatterbox, KI Memories, & October Afternoon as well as (the original) Bazzill & Quickutz (which became Lifestyle Crafts & is now WRMK) before these companies were swept under the AC umbrella. I routinely use (& often prefer) supplies from defunct manufacturers, since I find them more usable/unique & less themed/repetitive than most current releases.

Basic Grey is one that I really miss. I still have lots of their older lines left and I have brought out Sublime to use on a particular layout. I didn't buy as many of their more recent lines as they weren't as available in my LSS and I really regret that.
I miss Sassafras Lass too. There are so many of their embellishments that I wish I would have stocked up on.
I loved Chatterbox at the time and I have lots. It is one that I struggle to use a bit, but did make a point of using it for three summer layouts and I'm very happy with how they turned out.
So many others that I miss including KI Memories (I still have some), October Afternoon, Cosmo Cricket, Glitz Designs, etc. I also miss the variety and creativity we used to see in collections, even from lines that still exist. I am always on the hunt for different embellishments.

I miss Scenic Route! I still have a couple of their papers, but I'm so hesitant to use them because then they'll be gone. I need to get over this mentality.
I think I may have a Love, Elsie in my stash...

I'm still using old KI, K& Co, some old AC even...I think I've used up my Sassafras, Daisy D, Chatterbox, Scenic Route etc..
I liked Pebbles and the old Bazzil - epecially the packs of coordinating monochromatic sets (they came in 3's and 5's I think)
I miss the excitment of the new QK releases

I have some Love, Elsie hoarded in my stash. I miss the wide range of embellishments and tools that Making Memories offered. Scenic Route is another I love.
Things today are too formulaic, for the most part. I wish companies would stop using epoxy for embellishments.
While we often wane nostalgic for the companies and collections that are gone, I will say that the selection of stamps usable for scrapbooking (vs just cards) is much better now than ever.

KI Memories was a favorite! I really miss the eclectic mix of companies in the early years. SC was another with a graphic feel, although more vintage. Sassafras Lass, Cosmo Cricket, and Scenic Route also come to mind.
Because everything feels so same-y now, I donāt use my old favorites because when they are gone they are gone forever. There are no replacements. Silly I know, but I love them! lol For awhile I thought Pink Fresh might fill that gap, but their last few releases are again feeling very familiar.

I still have some Love Elsie in my stash, but I wish I'd used it before now. I struggle to think how I'd use the papers now. I did use a frame in a layout though, which you can see a video for here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-iw5ZrKPL8. I recently used an old paper by Colorbok. That layout is here: youtu.be/FJimmIuparo.

Little Yellow Bicycle. I still have a lot of their lines, but they are one of my favorites. I still have a bunch of Scenic Route that I hoard.

I miss Making Memories!
I came across a 6x6 mini album from a swap through my old LSS. Each person made 20 identical 6x6 pages with a holiday appetizer/entree/etc recipe, using products sold at the store and at least 1 QK die. The store kept 1 of every page, and then everyone got 19 different pages in return. I made two sets of pages, so my mom and I could each have a book of recipes. I was flipping through it and filled with regret that I used one of BG's Christmas lines for one of my pages! š

Iām relatively ānewā to scrapping but my mom was a CM consultant. I actually use some of that old stuff, mostly die cuts and stickers. I used to love āhelpingā her scrap back when I was a kid.

I was scanning negatives yesterday and went through several sets that were photos of displays when we opened our store in 2004. Most, if not all, of the brands displayed are long gone. And oh, those sticker rolls! On a side note, Elsie was one of our customers back in the day. It was interesting to watch how CK promoted her.

I have one sheet of Love, Elsie left in my stash. I'm not saving it because I'm sentimental or anything, but it's red, with large words all over it, so quite bold, and I've yet to find the right photos to go with it.

S.E.I. still exists. Who knew? They carry a limited stock of paper crafting supplies. https://www.seicrafts.com They are sticking with sewing and embroidery and have dropped releasing scrapbook supplies. I went to two of their warehouse sales before they closed their storefront. Most of my stash is SEI. And second to that is Echo Park, same reason.
I organize my supplies by theme or color, not manufacturer. I'm not sure what my favorite is anymore or what I miss.
I could only think of Daisy D's. I did use some Basic Grey, October Afternoon, and old WRMK papers today. It was mixed with Carta Bella and Dollar Tree stickers.

I have never been good with knowing manufacturers but I use very old stuff every time I scrap it seems. I'm not familiar with I love art and it seems like something I would love to use. Can you post the layout you did?

OA, I found their lines so easy to use and whenever I do a layout I just love, love, love it is OA. The colors were prefect, the designs were amazing. Nothing other then Shimelleās most recent lines even came close. I just recently purchased a few Nightlight papers on Etsy and they are so glorious, I just used them today in fact.
Other then that I miss Making Memories, Scenic Route, Scrapworks and KI a whole lot. Sassafrass too.

October Afternoon will have my heart. Basic Grey comes in a very close second. I'm still using it.
I dug through my journal cards specifically to use the Eiffel Tower card from a cut-apart sheet. I loved it so much I bought an entire pack of it from JoAnn's.

Yes, I loved the fabric tags and their papers. Their paper had such a cool texture and they had the best color combos. They also came up with the pocket page dividers before Becky Higgins.
