The truckers protest in Ottawa is out of hand

It’s odd how the American right isn’t losing their collective shits about having a caravan of potentially COVID-infected foreigners, sitting right at their borders.

I cannot wait to see the rebuttal to this. I might even make some popcorn.

If you are looking for someone to comment on the “potentially” Covid infected foreigners sitting at our borders ( which I am assuming you are referring to the trucker PROTEST), may I direct your attention to the over ONE MILLION illegals (thousands that are most likely Covid infected) pouring over our southern border and being shipped all over the country in droves. Yep, I’m pretty pissed about that!!!

So there you go.

How many times do you need to be told immigrants and migrants are NOT spreading covid?  People coming here legally have to be vaccinated. And the rates of covid are the same or higher in border states compared to migrants.  I know for a fact that peas have provided links to articles and evidence that immigrants and migrants are not spreading covid.  Despite that, you keep repeating false information.

More importantly, you ignored the racist part.  Unvaccinated white truckers (who are more likely to spread covid) on the border are OK, let them come in.  But, Hispanics fleeing violence and poverty are not welcome

The White House said the Canadian authorities intend to resume traffic shortly

the White House issued a statement Sunday afternoon from homeland security adviser Liz Sherwood-Randall that “Canadian authorities intend to reopen” the bridge Sunday “after completing necessary safety checks.”

In Ottawa, an impromptu attempt by residents on Sunday to block an intersection and prevent vehicles from joining the downtown convoy turned into a 200-strong protest by people who said they were fed up with feeling unsafe in their city. On Friday, the city of Ottawa, responding to frustrated residents, filed an injunction against demonstrators violating city bylaws.

Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair said the federal government was considering invoking the never-before-used Emergencies Act of 1988, which gives the federal government broad powers subject to Parliament’s approval.
“The closing of our borders, the targeting of critical infrastructure, particularly our points of entry by the people behind these protests, is a significant national security threat to this country, and we have to do what is necessary to end it,” Blair told Canada’s CTV.

In Ottawa, in continued defiance of the state of emergency, loud dance parties went on throughout the blockaded streets. As police on foot and in cars stood watch, convoys of trucks blared their horns, flouting anti-noise ordinances and a court order, and fireworks were illegally set off in crowds. Some people openly drank cans and bottles of alcohol, another violation of Ottawa law.

Hundreds of people joined a counterprotest Saturday afternoon in Ottawa, marching and chanting “Whose streets? Our streets!” and “Hey hey, ho ho, this trucker convoy has got to go!”

You are pretty sure?  We are suppose to take your word because you are pretty sure?  And aren’t you the one who boasted that you did your research?

If you are, then I’m not seeing how “I’m pretty sure” = “I do my research”.

You missed this part.

I have a problem with white conservatives in the US complaining about the Southern border and falsely blaming immigrants for spreading covid.  At the same time, they are welcoming white unvaccinated truckers into the US.  

Conservatives don't want Afghans or Hispanics here legally.  It's not about illegal vs legal, it's all about religion, race and ethnicity.  They just use that excuse as cover for their blatant racism.  If it truly was about illegal vs legal, they would support DACA.  

And if you think having a problem with white truckers is racism, you don't understand what racism is.

The phrase "I'm not racist" has very little meaning, especially paired with rants and false claims of immigrants spreading covid.  Are you antiracist? Clearly not.

How do you know that?  Are you currently at the Southern Border monitoring the situation?  Do you have access to the records of every single migrant who crosses the border?

You are making an assumption with no facts to back it but “your gut feeling”.  

I apologize to Canada, France, New Zealand, Australia and any other country where Trumpism has spread. I apologize for exporting our stupidity. And I am truly sorry that Republican politicians from the US have inserted themselves into protests in other countries and have contributed to disruptions by funding them.
