I have not worn a mask in over a year.
I live in a very rural area, so that is a very different set of circumstances. The population is small. But no one has, as a group, been wearing mask for well over a year.
If I felt like I needed to, or someone asked me to - I certainly would.
If I were to fly somewhere, I would not have any issue with a mask.
But it really doesn't even cross my mind at all. I keep some in my truck console, just in case. I keep my hand sanitizer and use that after leaving a store, etc. - but I did that LONG before the Covid-19 pandemic. A bad case of the flu changed my handwashing and hand sanitizing practices many years ago.

I wear a mask indoors and still opt to eat outside at restaurants, not that I even go to them often. I just went out to eat for the first time this year last week.

Oklahoma has never had a state wide mask mandate. Early on it was up to community/city mayors to make that call. Then the gov made compulsory masking mandates illegal for government buildings. Private business could mandate masks in thier stores but that was i. Honestly I am expecting to wear a mask and/or have very limited social outings for the rest of my life. I don't believe covid will ever disappear and we will stop tracking it until it flares up again in a big mutation.

I am a teacher in Canada ... my province is lifting the mask rule tomorrow ... the majority of my students still wear masks in class and so will I ... I haven't had a cold, the flu or Covid in years I think I will also continue to wear one in the grocery store for awhile ... This!!! I've never been healthier or gotten through the winter without one or more colds...all these Covid procedures are working for more than just Covid.

I intend to wear a mask for the foreseeable future. I’m a high risk patient with multiple medical comorbidities. I also love getting thru a winter with no colds or flu.

Our State never had a mask mandate because as Gennifer stated we have a bunch of idiots in our government. However, we have been extremely careful and following the guidelines of social distancing, hygiene practices and mask wearing. We went to Disneyland this past December (before omnicron really hit) and masks were required indoors. We wore our masks all the time - indoors and outdoors. I have attended Church on zoom since the shutdown. I attended a party last week and wore my mask and social distanced.
I think I have Covid anxiety. I see people without masks and I am scared. I will be wearing a mask indoors for a while longer. I have family members who are compromised and would most likely be in that small percentage of vaccinated people who would die if they got Covid.

I live in Florida, we all know it’s a free for all here.😉I am still wearing a mask in stores, doctor offices and in close contact situations (inside). I feel freer going into a restaurant. I never really understood masking in a restaurant until seated. Dani-Mani Congratulations on the baby news!

I’m getting my hair done today, the first time since early December when Omicron was surging. I believe our indoor mask mandates are lifted today? I’m fully expecting people to not be wearing masks but I will. I’m not interested in someone being up in my face so close without a mask, especially with the constant close contact hair stylists have. I had a hair appointment today. Mask mandates have been lifted, but it seems odd to not wear one. I debated on the way there about whether to wear a mask, but I decided that I felt more comfortable with it on - it’s a smaller place than a giant store and you are in closer contact than in many businesses, for a longer period of time. When I walked in both stylists in the front (mine and another) were wearing masks and so was one of the clients. The other client was not. I definitely didn’t feel out of place having it on. After my stylist's client left we ended up talking about it - both stylists said they’d do whatever their client wanted regarding masks. In fact, the client who had just left had asked the stylist to wear her mask, as her husband is having some major health issues. BUT, when it was just the two of them there in the room, the client ended up taking hers off. So kind of confusing. I did stop at the grocery store after I left the salon, and I wore my mask there too. My brother is high-risk, and is waiting to get shots of two monoclonal antibodies that are being used on transplant and other immunocompromised people that seem to improve their resistance to getting COVID. He has to avoid getting it as he can’t have them if he gets COVID. We’ve made it this far, none of us want to blow it now.

At my appt today about 90% of the people, customers and stylists, were not wearing a mask, but I did. I’m not ready to totally drop it.

We haven’t had a statewide mask mandate for quite some time but the district’s mandate for the schools just ended on the 14th and the mandate for wearing them on the school bus ended this week. My kid still wears a mask on the bus and at school, and good thing too because her BFF just tested positive for Covid last Friday. If they wouldn’t have both been still wearing masks at school, my DD would probably be quarantining this week at home with Covid too.
ETA: I still mask up any time I’m going into a store or anywhere where I might have closer contact with others.

Had my first mask-free teaching day since March 2020 today. It was nice but I felt a little naked. Haha.
I’d say about 80% of kids came to school with a mask on today, but looking around the hallways at dismissal, only about 30% still had them on. I think the number will decrease greatly as the weather warms up.

I’m in Texas so it’s been “what mask mandate?” most of the time. Regardless, until transmission is basically non-existent in our area we will both continue to mask. We are both high risks with multiple co-morbidities and he is immunocompromised and works in a nursing home.

I'm in LA County and it looks like we're gonna finalllllly be letting up on mandates a bit. I'm so sick and tired of policing them. Screw it - don't wanna wear a mask and know every damn thing? great. Wearing a mask and not squabbling about it? Even better. Either way, your choice at this point - like I said, I'm just sick and tired of having to have this "where's your mask and/or vax proof?" convo 2384723847892374 times a day and the 2387423897432 different answers that go with it.

If needed I will. But no. I live in a rural area. When I go to the store there are 0-4 other customers and the cashier is behind plexiglass. No one in the post office, the hardware and drug store are equally empty. I work from home. When I go into the city if I felt it was too crowded, which it never is unless it's Christmas, I would wear one. If I'm going to a medical appointment and they require it I'll put one on with no fuss.

My city is considering lifting it 3/7 but the county I live in has lifted it. So you can be on one street and businesses across the street aren’t in the city limits so no masks there.

Our Pre-K students didn’t have to wear their asks outside yesterday (except for two kids who parents requested they still mask) and at first the ones allowed had them off, but 10 minutes into recess all except one had them back on. The teachers all kept theirs on for solidarity with the kids who had to mask.

I am not wearing a mask now, and am enjoying it. But *some* people do not want to see masks. I feel that, absent a mandate, it is an individual decision.
The author of the Tweet corrected himself; those were high school students.

Washington State's mask mandate will be lifted March 11. Honestly, I'm not sure if I'll discontinue mask use or not. Last week I was in New York (no mask mandate) and I really felt uncomfortable going without a mask. Probably about 75% of the people in the grocery stores (the only place I went in public during the week I was there) were still wearing masks.
ETA: This was in Upstate NY, not NYC if that makes a difference to the story.

The mandate is lifted here and school's will be lifting March 13. I will continue to wear one until I become the one out of place. Right now, almost everyone is still wearing one.

Once upon a time I went to China and came back very sick with another known corona virus. I will wear a mask until I am the last one standing. I am terrified of getting that sick again. I got sick and I mean vomiting sick from the shot alone. I am masked.

The author of the Tweet corrected himself; those were high school students. For someone who talks about individual choice, freedoms and liberties, trying to shame them into taking off their masks is off is just obnoxious. At school, we had a talk with kindergarteners and first graders about being respectful of other people's choices. Someone needs to have a talk with DeSantis. 6 and 7 year olds who have only ever worn masks in school were more respectful of classmates than this guy. Sometimes, I think he's worse than former. And I'm really worried for our country when he decides to run for president. He's more polished, smarter, more politically savvy and less crass (although just as offensive and divisive)
