grammadee - safe travels. Wow they go right from one sport to another, don't they? nylene - I have some gladiolus and then a mixed bag of summer pollinators (latria, echinacea, phlox, and crocosmia). I do have one spring bulb starting to sprout - the traditional spring bulbs don't work well here as it's not cold enough, long enough but I planted my Easter potted tulips and hyacinth last year and it looks like one survived. How scary for your DGD with those icy roads. kitbop - glad that your dad is doing better -sorry he's not a more cooperative patient. My girls (15, 21) have also informed me no grandkids...DS (30) would like kids but since he doesn't date...might be a bit difficult. We'll see what happens.

Good Wednesday evening, Pokeys. Glad to see that your dad's health is improving, kitbop . Dh may have to have another procedure done, this time with his legs to improve circulation. Our new dr is much less available than the fellow who just retired after 30 years in the community. I need to call the office tomorrow and put some pressure on them to find him an appointment so they can discuss next steps. At the very least they could be working on the referral recommended by the radiologist who did the last test. I am HOME! Stayed at dd's last night and drove home today. Roads still had quite a bit of ice and snow pack in places, but much better than the drive yesterday from Calgary to Edmonton, some of which was in white out conditions. It was weird b/c the sky was clear and sunny. But the winds were whipping up the snowfall from the day before. Thankfully the traffic both days was very well distanced and kept to manageable speeds for the conditions. Thank goodness your dgd was able to keep safe on her drive, nylene . I saw a few vehicles in the ditch on Tuesday, but they had gone in the day before, so no terrifying moments for me. Our own road, when I got within 3 miles of home, was down to a one lane tunnel through 4' high snowplow ridges. So Linda , it will be awhile before we can even talk about glad's and such around here! Did a bit of shopping once I met my self imposed frozen-til-50 goal. Used some of my M's gc's from Christmas to pick up a score board and some cutting mats. Picked up a couple of pp collections and some stickers for some of the pages I hope to put together with photos I took and received over this past 3 weeks. Started an order on line, as well, but when I went to order the Not Just for Boys latest kit with the firefighter pages and embellishment packs I had pointed out to you, justjac, the shipping costs ended up being horrendous--over half the value of the merchandise--so I backed out of the site. Happily I found a Reminisce collection at one of the LSS's in Edmonton, so I will use that instead. And I know, gramma, I can always cut some themed pieces on my Silhouette... I did print pic's and got some up-to-the-minute pages finished while I was there. Need to get them uploaded to Flickr and shared. Hee hee. When my dgd was talking to her brother in BC, telling him about all the pages I had put together about her while I was in Calgary, it took him less than ten minutes to send me a bunch of photos of him playing hockey this year! But first... a l-o-n-g winter's nap... My bed is calling my name...

I'm beat but my house is clean top to bottom except DD15's room/bathroom and DH's hobby room (neither of which are my responsibility) and I'm all set to crop this weekend. I need to check out the crop thread and see what time it officially starts.
Yesterday I worked most of the day on identifying and labelling photos from the 1920s and 1930s -I'll never get them all identified but I want to do as many as I can. My mum has one cousin (in her 80s) left who may recognise a few people or have the same photo WITH a caption so I've been reaching out to her where I can...but otherwise DH and I are the oldest generation left on both sides.

Alex wears me out faster than a whole family of grands! He's just such a busy boy and wants me to be busy with him. And he talks a mile a minute the whole time. I don't know when he breathes! I accuse him of breathing through his ears Ah hahaha yes! This is exactly how Rudy is. Busy and talking, all the time talking lol. I'm so glad your DGD is alright! That's so scary. We have snow again here it's going to barely hit 30 and tomorrow be 60. kitbop I was told by both my boys that I wouldn't be getting grandkids. Best laid plans I'm fairly certain I will only get the one but right now he's all I have some energy for lol. That's excellent news about your dad! yay! I wish I wasn't such a slow scrapper too. I think my average time is at least 4 hours, usually more. I'm a true pokey pea lol. I'm determined to finish my DD this weekend, so I can move on to other things I'm more inspired to scrap. Linda your bulbs sound fabulous. Every year at this time I think about a patio garden and never seem to get around to it. My deck is really small so there wouldn't be room for much lol. The deck furniture I brought here with me is really too big for it. grammadee welcome home! I hope you get some rest and wow, those kids are busy! Congrats to your medal winner! I wanted to take today off and just crop all weekend, but one of my coworkers had already had today on the calendar so I'll be working and dreaming of scrapping today. It's a Rudy weekend, so I may only end up with tomorrow to scrap but I'm going to try to gently say no to a sleepover tonight if he asks lol.

Oh dear oh dear, Linda has me feeling guilty about the state of my house. It's truly awful right now. And I got sick on Wednesday so I'm in no mood to clean. I slept all day yesterday and today am left with a wonderful raging head cold. 5 rapid tests later I have finally convinced myself it's not covid. But...that means I'm home and can crop this afternoon Welcome home grammadee! I hope you are recovered enough to play with us this weekend. DH and I are heading out to my LSS - I need to pick up a Simple Stories 6x8 flipbook. Being sick and off work, my conscience says I shouldn't be shopping. But I really need this album to start the retirement album for my friend while we crop this weekend! Normally if I'm home sick, I figure I should be too unwell to go out at all.

Oh dear oh dear, Linda has me feeling guilty about the state of my house. It's truly awful right now. oh no - don't feel guilty. Mine had been sadly neglected as I had not been sleeping well and was exhausted but I finally had some energy yesterday to put it to rights. Hope you feel better soon.

Well, Linda, my house has definitely been neglected, but it can wait a few more days... Glad you finally hve the energy to tackle that big job and still have some left over to play! kitbop, if you see anyone from work at the LSS, just say "What are YOU doing here???" Obviously we can't have the medical staff sneezing over everyone, so you can't go into work with a head cold, so don't feel guilty. Hope you don't play yourself out with that little shopping trip, or if you do that you take some time to rest when you get home. Hope you feel better soon. Booo on having to work today, joyfulnana. I hope you get to get crafty at some point this weekend. Hard to say no to a sleep over, though. Can you get Rudie interested in making a scrappy project himself? Maybe a collaborative page about him and you? I have two LO's in progress right now. Have the big stuff glued down. Each needs some work with embellishments and journaling. But now I need to head into town to pick up some groceries I like (dh's choices are not what mine are), pick up the mail, and pay some bills. (My credit cards took a bit of a beating while I was spending time with grandkids: time to pay the piper). Hope to drop in on the virtual crop this afternoon, but that will depend on what dh has on the go today. Will crop on Sunday for sure. Hope to get my February and March calendar pages done this weekend. Over the last year I have struggled to have even ONE photo that will work for a month, but with the pic's I took and the ones people have sent me in the past two weeks, I will have a problem CHOOSING each month's photo. Okay... off to get ready for town...

Good Monday morning, Pokeys. How was your weekend? What does this next week look like? I see pages in the Gallery &/or crop thread from kitbop , nylene, joyfulnana, Linda . Maybe justjac and gramma ? Glad you had some crafty time. Sorry I didn't manage to drop in on any of the virtual gatherings. Time change and my transition to being back home has kicked my butt a bit. Feeling okay physically, just a bit dozy. I try to scrap in the mornings when my brain still functions a little. Then leave the page out for awhile until I have finished it up. Hoping to get a LO done this morning, but time will tell. Hope you had a great weekend, kellyr21 and knutschen . TTYL

time change is tough grammadee and so is transitioning home after being away so no surprise the two combined are being challenging. ((((Hugs))) I love our Mega crops - I can tell DH about them and unless we have something scheduled, he tries to make it so I can spend the weekend in the craft room. He picked up dinner on Friday so I didn't have to stop and cook (AND remembered it was a lent Friday and got fish). We had a wedding on Saturday to go to but Sunday was another scrap all day opportunity - and DD cooked Sunday night. I've been spoiled. Today I need to catch up on some things around the house but hopefully I'll get some scrapping done also. Hope everyone had a good weekend! DD was funny this morning - she looked out the window when she came downstairs "why is it dark outside"...time changed, remmeber? "I hate it" so very relatable, lol

Happy Monday! Waving hi! Here is one of the 500 piece puzzles I finished this year. I got into puzzles last Fall and what fun they have been. I got these from Amazon. The brand for most of these 500 piece puzzles is Galison. In the last month or so, I started my first 1,000 piece one and it is hard. Lol 😆! Just taking my time with it. phew - all is well but this has been a heck of a day. DD15 texted me from school to let me know there was a bomb threat and they had been evacuated to the football stadium. Later updated that they were being bussed to the fairgrounds. Then we were told we could pick her up from the fairgrounds but would need to show photo id (fair enough). We were there for a couple of hours as they very slowly released kids one by one verifying parent id each time - probably half of the kids were still there when we left (about 2000 students at the school). And of course it started pouring rain. They pulled all the school buses in the county to use to evacuate them - all of the other schools were parent pickup ONLY no bus transportation this afternoon. There have been bomb threats before but this is the first time they've done a full-out evacuation that I know of (and I've had kids in the schools here since 2008) which makes me think this might have been real or at least more credible than usual.

Wow! Linda, that must have been terrifying! So glad you and your dd are home safe now. Hoping they got to the root of the problem and found either the bomb or credible evidence it was a hoax. kellyr21, I can see why those puzzles speak to you. Their colours and lines remind me of your beautiful paintings. I have to be in the right mood to do jigsaw puzzles. They can either be calming or frustrating. It was good to see your page in the Gallery, msliz. I really miss seeing you ladies, but somehow I have not been able to settle down to crop on a weekend for awhile. Maybe this upcoming Sunday... nylene I hope you and yours are okay. I worry when I don't see you pop up here for a couple of days. Our dishwasher--only two years old==is making pained sounds when it is running. I called the manufacturer on Friday and was told a repair shop would contact us within 48 hours. Decided to give them the weekend before I started counting, but still haven't heard from them. So in the morning I will need to get in touch with LG again to see how we can resolve this. They have promised me a new motor. I was hoping a repair person would show up with the parts we need and stay until the machine is working properly, but was waiting to see what the cost of that maintenance call would be. But since no one has contacted us, I think we will need to go with dh's plan: have them send us the motor and then have him install it. My fear is that this process will take awhile. And repair people don't yell at me when they are working...

Thanks grammadee - they brought in bomb sniffing dogs from the next county over and did a thorough search and didn't find anything but they were definitely taking it very seriously. Good luck with the dishwasher - I have similar fears when DH decides to fix things himself - he's not very handy and is easily frustrated. ((((Hugs))) kellyr21 - lovely puzzles

nylene, I'm so sorry about the computer troubles! Thanks for letting us know. (it's like a spooky ghost came in and said "I'm nylene"...) Linda - what a headache, what a scare, what a day! I'm sure you can find a scrapbook page in there! grammadee - no WAY am I listening to DH trying to fix a dishwasher! He's become pretty handy, but doesn't have much patience, and if "plan A" fails it seems to be the fault of "plan A", and he doesn't consider moving on to a plan B. We've been through many dishwashers. They really seem to break easily and are hardly worth fixing. OTOH, at least it's relatively easy to do dishes by hand. Now, when the washer breaks there is trouble... @kellyr, oh I love puzzles. I wish others in the house would do them with me, but because it's just me I never start them because they take up too much valuable real estate in our tiny house. I invested in a roll-a-puzzle so I could put them away when I'm not working on them, but it's not a perfect solution because when you unroll the puzzle most pieces are in place but broken apart. We (it used to be my sister in law and I who would do them on vacations) always do a 1000 piece and have done some really really tough ones through the years.

Hello again, Pokeys! Happy St. Patrick's Day.On Monday morning my computer died. I tried everything I could think of and Em came over to look it over. She took photos of all the plugs, etc. and sent them to Doug who was in Michigan. He told her what to check and where to find a used monitor in their basement to try to get a work-around until he can get home. Yesterday she did some switching out of parts while we were in SLC for an appt. After a bit of finagling, today I have a work around that will keep me going until Doug can take a look at it. The weird thing is, right after the computer went out we got a strange charge on our credit card. We called the bank and they had OK'ed an ATM charge on the card that we cancelled the day Steve lost his wallet.(Nov) They only let it through because the guy had I.D. Which means he must have found the wallet. He had been trying since Mar 5 to get $ from the ATM. The bank took care of that and an hour later my phone said someone was signing in to my Google acct. from outside the county! I changed the passwords, but I don't think anyone knows my password and certainly there was nothing in the wallet with my user name or password. Weird! I tried to log in to 2Peas on my phone and seemed connected, my name was at the top of the screen, but when I tried to post it said that I didn't have permission to post in this forum. By logging out I could post as a guest (something I didn't know) but when I tried to use my name it wouldn't take it. I think we must have March Leprechauns at work in our house! Linda , I was just sick when I read about the bomb threat. I am so glad no one was hurt and if it was a hoax, I hope they find the guilty party. That's too scary. kellyr21 , your puzzles are beautiful. I agree that they look like your kind of art. I usually do a puzzle at Christmas, but this year with all the kids here I didn't have any space available to leave it up. I'm glad you have enjoyed doing them. grammadee , did your dishwasher survive the repair? How about you, did you survive the repair! kitbop , how is your dad doing? Have they moved him to rehab. I just realized that when you said he would be moved to your floor, I was thinking he was going to be staying at your home on the floor. It seemed crazy, but we do what we need to do. At the crop you said it was never the plan to have him at your home. That's when it dawned on me that you meant your hospital floor. Sometimes I'm pretty dense! LOL. I hope he's making progress. I finished a page on Sat that I planned to post on Mon. I had cut a bunch of things for cards and was able to put those all together while I was computerless. I will post them today. Have a great week, everyone! I really missed you!

Happy St Patrick's Day! We're all wearing our green today! I baked sugar cookies that DD15 will decorate after school and I have Bailey's chocolate chip cookie dough chilling in the fridge. About to make Irish soda bread. And of course we'll have Guinness corned beef for dinner with Irish red potatoes and sauteed carrots. kitbop - I love puzzles too - back in college I always had one set up in the common area and met so many dorm-mates when they stopped by to fit a piece or two in. Stopped doing puzzles for years though once I had kids and have only recently gotten back into them. D15 doesn't like them too much although she'll humour me and help with the Christmas puzzle at least long enough to be in the photos. The older two do and so does DH - in fact we both bought Grogu puzzles for each other for Valentine's day this year (unplanned coincidence). nylene - so glad that you're back up and running. Sorry about all the computer and bank issues - what a pain.

Happy Thursday! Hope you all are having a good week. I finished my third embroidery last weekend. I will post pics. I really like it so I ordered another kit. grammadee - Glad you made it back home! I am sure your family misses you. linda - So glad your dd is ok. How scary! Hugs to ya! nylene - Computer issues are so frustrating! Mine is still not working and it feels too draining to go through a long phone call with the help desk. Lol!🙂 So I will keep using my tablet and maybe we can figure it out this weekend. Hang in there! knutschen- How fun to see your fur babies. So adorable and sweet! joyfulnana - Waving hi and hi to Abby, too. 😄 kitbop - Yeah, puzzles are so fun! I have a small space, too so that is the only downside. I have a few large and thick poster boards I use on a TV tray. It works pretty good! Hey, you gotta get creative when you have a small space. Lol!

Beautiful stitching, kellyr21. That one top left looks alot like some designs my mother used to embroider. I had never seen one on black before. THAT makes the colours really pop! So glad you are back on line, nylene. Hopefully the gremlins or leprechauns will leave you alone for awhile. Really scary about the hits on your dh's cards. Do they think the thief held on to them for awhile in hopes the alerts would come off those accounts? kitbop, I hope you are feeling better. Linda, I want you to adopt me. Your St Patrick's Day plans sound amazing! Baileys Chocolate chip cookie dough? Is that home made? If so I think I NEED the recipe! Still no word on my dishwasher. I called LG again yesterday and was told they had to contact the local appliance repair shop before the process could begin. They had trouble contacting them, but then said it had been done and that the 48 hours would start again (for the repair guys to contact us). Still no contact. They did let slip the town the repair place is in. Dh looked on line and found one outfit in that town that boasts it does LG repairs. So tomorrow I will phone the repair place directly to see if they can make ONE trip out here to assess and repair the machine. The process explained to me was that first they would come out and assess the machine. Then order the motor. Then come back and do the repair. There is a flat rate we would pay for assessment. I really don't want to pay for another whole trip on top of that. The shop is 1 1/2 hours away.

Linda those cookies sound amazing. I pinned the recipe so I can come back to it.
kellyr21 your embroidery looks wonderful. I'm taking an online knitting class with my sister, so I can relate to trying something new. (I am so slow right now. I think it's taken me 5 or 6 hours to knit an inch of a small afghan.)
grammadee I hope you can figure something out with your dishwasher. It's so frustrating when practically new things don't work. For the second time in five years the sensor in my Jeep that detects the outside temperature got stuck after a really cold spell. We replaced it two or three years ago and yet according to my Jeep it is again -37 for over a month! DH ordered the sensor. We're going to try replacing it ourselves and hope it doesn't need to be hooked up to the dealership's computer.
kitbop I'm not really a puzzle person, but DH's family is. There is one kind I like. They are laser cut wooden puzzles made by a company in Alberta. Every piece is a different shape and some of them form images within the puzzle. Of course they are expensive and there are limited puzzles to choose from, but they are the ones I like doing. www.stumpcraft.com/
nylene I'm glad you figured out a technology work around. For me it is my phone and my ipad that are my lifeline. I'm even doing most of my reading on my ipad. I have so many book apps: Hoopla, Libby, Kobo, Kindle. DH has gone back to work half time. Right now he works from 7-12 and then visits his mom in the hospital from 1-5:30. Fortunately, our hospital is again open to two visitors at a time and the number of different visitors isn't limited, so my BIL and FIL can go visit and I can go with Dean on the weekends.

Linda - yummmmmmmm. I almost ALWAYS add a tablespoon of instant coffee to my chocolate chip cookies. It adds a kick that most people can't identify. grammadee and justjac - I love technology and computers. But I shudder every time I buy a new appliance (or car this year) with digital buttons, digital displays, push button starts etc. They go wrong and can't be fixed at home. justjac - those puzzles are works of art themselves. They'd make a super nice present! kellyr21 - beautiful work! all 3, I can't decide which is my favourite. nylene - Glad you are "back"! Hope they can fix your computer. My Dad is still waiting a rehab bed but it should be soon. He wants to go home and lacks insight into how it would be too hard for him right now. My house is too small to add anything else. Plus, we only have a bathroom upstairs or in the basement, and he couldn't do that. Plus, honestly, he would never be welcome to move in with us. Mom we would squeeze in somehow. Not him. Had an awkward situation at work this week. A patient I was teaching (he'd just had a hip replacement and was going home the same day, so I am responsible for teaching them what they need to know, how to walk, how to do stairs, how to sleep, how to do their bandage...) was put in the bed next to my dad. When I got the guy out in the hallway to practice walking, he started saying how he "needed to get out of here, he couldn't listen to the guy in the next bed anymore, seriously someone ought to tape record him because it's incredible how much he complains, I know he's old and sick and I should be sympathetic but that guy is unbearable and selfish..." LOL, what do you do? I agree! And this guy wasn't saying it in a mean way at all, he was actually feeling guilty that he was complaining. If I tell him it's my dad, he feels ROTTEN! And I was so afraid my Dad would GIVCE ME AWAY as we walked back into the room (hopefully he didn't tell the guy after I left...) AWKWARD! But hey, if someone is picking up on my Dad's personality after being their roommate for 2 hours, I know I'm not imagining things My cold is resolving. I have today off as I work the weekend. I got up at 11:00. I haven't done that since - before kids??? My body is healing I think.

Will come back to chat more later. Dishwasher update: Finally got LG customer service to give me their "specialist"/s phone number. I called the repair guy. Texted him a video of the sound the machine was making. His response was "Yikes! I will order a motor!". I sent him the LG case number so he can do that. He sent an estimate of his charge and it is reasonable for the one trip he will need to make once the motor comes in. Before I spent the time on the phone with LG and the repair guy, I started putting together a page for Linda's "all the colours" challenge. But now I need to go into town to run some errands and pick up some groceries for the weekend. Mikey and his dad may be here overnight Saturday, but not sure yet.

kellyr21, I love your embroidery. When I was in elem. school I had a serious kidney disease and spent over 3 months in bed. Mom taught me to embroider and I loved it. Was the black fabric hard to work on? I know it would be hard for my old eyes. Will you hang these in your home or use as gifts. They are so pretty and I'm glad they bring you joy. justjac, I'm glad that things have been relaxed enough that you and DH can visit his mother together, as well as DH and his dad. How is she doing? Are you back to in-person teaching again or are the students still staying away? kitbop, I'm glad your dad is coming along. I am sorry he is being a pain to others in your hospital. I hope you are soon totally recovered from your cold. I fear that when I quit wearing a mask I will catch a bad cold or something that I don't have immunity to anymore. We are still masking up out and about, but we are in the minority. We have been attending church remotely, but I think that will stop broadcasting next week. I worry about the new variant hitting Europe and China. How are your numbers now? grammadee, I'm glad you called the repair man and that he is willing to make a one-time trip to fix your dishwasher. I hope the motor comes soon and you can get the repair finished. You have really been scrapping up a storm. I'm way behind on comments, but hope to get caught up. I still have 5 of the challenges left, but I doubt I will do more than one or two. Thanks for putting all this together. It has been a fun quarter. Linda, you have been an excellent hostess. I don't know how you have found time to respond to everyone all quarter long. Thank you for your time and work. We want to have a Google Meet with DH's sister and brother. Both are not able to travel with their spouses, so I have been trying to learn to do a Google meet. I set one up and invited Steve and it took us almost the whole hour to get him hooked up and joined. We will try it again this afternoon and then try it with his sister before we try it with his brother. He is on hospice and will have his DD with him next week to help him hook up with us. If we get this worked out, I hope I can host one of our online meets here. I feel guilty participating and not ever taking a turn hosting. I'm just so technology challenged!

Oh wow Linda! That's scary! I'm glad it turned out to be nothing. We had a school shooting here a couple of weeks ago. No one was killed, and they haven't said yet what brought it about. I hate it that kids have to do active shooter drills and deal with threats of violence at school. justjac those puzzles are so cool! I'm glad you are able to see your MIL and Dean is around more often too. That's good news about the dishwasher grammadee! I hate it when my dishwasher isn't working. I hope we'll see you this weekend. nylene I'm sorry you are having computer problems. And glad you have a work around! I think the speaker is going bad on mine kellyr21 those puzzles are beautiful! I love puzzles, but I don't have a lot of room to leave one out. (Plus Abby wouldn't leave it alone lol) I ran into the same problem as kitbop with the roll up mats. I want to get a puzzle board, those look like they would be perfect. Kelly and Jac have me wanting to find a simple knitting project to work on while I watch TV lol. I need to get some pages planned for tomorrow's crop. I'll be hosting and then plan to be around Sunday too. Hope you all have a good weekend!
