This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page/project when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge.

I am hoping the old saying "in like a lion and out like a lamb" is true for March this year. I am looking forward to Spring.
February went by quickly. I have really enjoyed the 28-4-28 challenges. I haven't managed to do very many of them, but they have stirred my mojo.
Have a great month, everyone.

Happy March, Pokeys! Thanks for setting this up each month, nylene. Here is to a mrvelous month! I am still in Calgary Ddil earned her way into the semi’s in Ft Worth, so she competes again Thursday evening. When she arrives home will depend on if she earns a berth into the finals on the weekend. Driving back will take at least two days, maybe longer with the horses in the trailer. Boys are back in school. I scrapped yesterday, printing photos today, Hoping the internet cooperates for hosting the virtual crop tomorrow morning.

Congrats to your DDIL, grammadee. I know that means more days tending for you, but what a thrill for her. Hang in there. I hope to pop on for a while tomorrow.

Thanks for the prayers kellyr21. My Dad's surgery seems to have gone well... he was in recovery 6 hours after the start time (they predicted a 7 hour surgery) and is back on the surgery floor (versus the predicted ICU admission). That's all I know, as I never got a call from the surgeon to say how things went! Fortunately, I know *all* the nurses and have gotten updates throughout grammadee, I'm sure DDIL knows how lucky she is to have you! My MIL is also wonderfully supportive and has always had my back if I was spreading my wings or needed a break. Of course, she lives 3000 miles away...but she did what she could! My own Mom declared, "I will not be your babysitter" when I told her I was pregnant with #1, and true to her word she's never spent a night alone with the kids I'm planning to be a different sort of grandma myself! If I'm lucky enough to have grandkids that is.

kitbop, it is definitely your mom’s loss not to have spent special time with her grandkids. I have had so much joy with mine. I so much appreciate my ddil’s who have allowed me to be part of their kids lives. I’m glad your dad came through his surgery okay. Hoping his recovery goes well. gramma she is a barrel racer. I will see if I can attach a video of her qualifying ride through Tapatalk. Busy day running around today. Looking forward to playing with paper tomorrow. Hoping I see some of you there.

Happy March Pokeys! I am hoping the old saying "in like a lion and out like a lamb" is true for March this year. I am looking forward to Spring. " It was a beautiful sunny and 75 here yesterday and I had the thought "oh boy hope March doesn't go out like a lion" It's going to in the 80s today! I really don't like how jumbled the weather has been here the past year. It feels like seasons are about a month off from the calendar but we really didn't have much winter. Good luck to your DDIL grammadee , hope you can tough with those boys! I hope your Dad continues to do well kitbop . I never spent a night with a grandparent growing up myself. So I get wanting to be a different type of grandma, I feel the same way which is why Rudy rules my weekends when he's here lol. DS2 is doing well, he's in a sober living facility and has been lined up with a job, and meetings, etc. He really likes the people that run the house and there are only 4 housemates so he likes that too. He's scared. He's up against jail time for the first time in his life and seems very determined to turn his life around for good. I hope so. It's hard to watch and it's harder not to do anything to "fix" everything for him. But he's got to fix this himself. It was a tumultuous few weeks as we took turns keeping DS under "house arrest" waiting to hear from a program for him. But I'm finally bouncing back and feeling like I have some energy again. Oh crap. I just realized I set up a scrap day with my mom Saturday and Rudy has his yellow belt test. Definitely going to watch the belt test. He's super excited about it since out of 5 classmates practicing their katas last weekend, he was the only one who didn't need correction. He's been watching a LOT of Karate Kid and has taught himself Crane kick lol. kellyr21 Abby is not quite as fat but just as sassy as always lol. She's lost enough weight that she is suddenly jumping from the floor up to tables and (my desk at work!) she has never done that before lol. She'll be 11 next week and seems to be very happy here. I hope so, I love having her! Well, I need to get ready for work, I hope you all have a fabulous day!

nylene and gramma were asking about how to watch my ddil’s ride in the semifinals, and this was the only info we got. Of course these two subscribe to the Cowboy Channel, so that is how we will be watching tomorrow. This competition is part of “the American” which is being held in Ft Worth. Tagging scrapnnana too. This is the site with the info. If I understand it correctly, she has to be top 8 out of these 32 to qualify for the next round. Looks like they have some videos of yesterday and today, on this site, so hoping one with her in it will pop up tomorrow. She thinks she will be competing around 6:50pm Mountain Time.

grammadee , thanks for the info. I would like to try to watch online. I hope she does her very best ride! joyfulnana, you and your DS are in my prayers. I am so glad that he is in a program and that he feels happy there. It is very hard to have tough love when your heart is breaking, but sounds like you got him to the place that he can help himself. Hugs to you! BTW, I think Abby is very lucky to have you. You have done wonders for her and she has been a good companion. kitbop, I hope that your dad continues to do well and that as he heals it will take stress off you. I guarantee that when you are a grandmother you will be exactly what you wish your children had. My mom and DMIL were wonderful grandmothers but they lived far away. I didn't have grandmothers but I love, love, love interacting with my grands and feel that they have given me much more joy than they receive from me. kellyr21, I love seeing your smiling face popping up. I hope you are doing something crafty. Did you finish your embroidery? Was Ron's big event last weekend or is it still coming up? Waving to each of the Pokeys. I am hoping to have some scrappy time later today.

Hey everyone. joyfulnana I'm glad your DS got into a facility and you can take a deep breath. kitbop I'm glad your dad's surgery went well. grammadee you are going to need to sleep for a week to recover from this visit! I had last week off work and spent it at home. Partially because Dean's mom finally got transferred back to our local hospital, so he came home! We've settled into a bit of a routine this week now that I'm back at work. I head off to work in the morning, and Dean runs errands/gets groceries and then heads to the hospital around 1PM. Then when I get home I cook supper and Dean's dad and brother come over. Usually Dean gets home in time to join us. I finished LOAD and went on a bit of a shopping spree. Lawn Fawn's new release came out and I bought one new stamp and several new dies. This card used their new pop up card die and some of my coloured Kindred Stamps. Super Birthday

kellyr21 - Hi! kitbop - continued prayers for your dad. My mum was the same - she didn't really enjoy childern despite being a teacher (she was from the generation where girls could be teachers, nurses, or secretaries...and she hated science and typing so...) and she never really got to know my kids. If I ever have grandchildren, I want to take after my MIL as well as the grandmothers here ( grammadee, joyfulnana, nylene...and the rest) joyfulnana - prayers for your DS. Addiction is such a hard battle. We'll need a new picture of Abby's svelteness. Good luck to your DIL grammadee - pretty cool sport! justjac - continuing to pray for your MIL. Glad Dean is back home. Well done finishing LOAD - what a super card! I'm...tired...I'm finally sleeping better but I'm still so exhausted all the time. Doesn't help that I'm steam cleaning furniture a couple of times a day (thanks Little Friend) and carpets most days (thanks Midnight)...there are definite downsides to senior cats. I did get to scrap yesterday and I have a layout on my desk I hope to get to later. Maybe after the dentist this afternoon. This weekend I have bulbs to plant and we're headed to the city on Sunday for DD's Girl Scout meeting. I need to get blades for my Cricut - picked up a new mat yesterday but couldn't get blades locally.

I did get to scrap yesterday and I have a layout on my desk I hope to get to later. Maybe after the dentist this afternoon. That sentence doesn't sound like a lot of fun, other than the scrapping! Our house has a perpetual "cat litter" smell due to, well, 4 cats. I should NEVER have let Katie talk me into that 4th kitty. He is half the smell because of his...issues. but, he is a sweetie, and would be dead if we left him in that barn so, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ My Dad had a bad day...he needed 3 units of blood, and they may have to go back in to look for the source of bleeding. He's also somewhat confused but he is aware of that so not a full-blown delirium. justjac - adorable colouring and card! How hard is the LF pop up die set to assemble? I had my eye on it, but I think it's something I'd buy and not use... joyfulnana - glad DS2 is holding steady. I'm sure you are proud that he is working so hard to hold on, and yet scared for him too. I'm sure your Mom will reschedule a scrappy weekend with you. Rudy will only be this age for such a short period of time, right? I got my "Crop and Create" box today I'm going to take a quick peek and then box it back up to formally open at the big "reveal" night. Not sure if I'll peek tonight tho. I might save it for after the gym tomorrow as a bribe/reward

((((Hugs)))) kitbop - I'm trying SO hard to avoid that perpetual cat smell but with Midnight having some age-related issues and LF having some medical issues...it feels like a losing battle some days. I'm so sorry to hear your dad isn't recovering as quickly as hoped. I'll keep him (and you) in my prayers. Dentist this afternoon and then DH and I walked around the small downtown art gallery on our way home. I made a jar (just one pint) of tangerine marmalade - hopefully it'll taste as good as it smells. Hoping to scrap after dinner but it'll be early to bed again tonight I think

He has a partner friend who is helping out, too. I took a break from the embroidery. After finishing two of them, I lost steam on the last one. I hope to finish at some point. justjac- Your card is so fun. Love the coloring you do. Great job!

gramma, she didn’t make it. Neede to be top ten out of 32, and ended up 12th. If she had managed to make the same time she did last week in the qualifiers she would have been 5th. They are on their way home. Have a vet appointment to approve horses crossing border on Monday. Should be here Monday afternoon. I was able to use my phone to get a video of her while we watched on TV with the sounds of her boys cheering her on.

Rudy will only be this age for such a short period of time, right? This is exactly what I've been telling myself for 7 years when I know he's going to wear me out And it's true. Before I know it he is going to be too old/busy to stay overnight with Nana so while I enjoy my kid free weekends, I cherish the weekends he is here and excited to see me.

Some updated photos of my furbabies: Zoe by Jana, on Flickr Graduation day! by Jana, on Flickr Phoebe by Jana, on Flickr Sophia & Lola by Jana, on Flickr On March 14th, Phoebe will be 14! I had to take her to the vet in February. I noticed she had lost a little weight, I believe about 2 lbs. I have always watched her weight so she was about 14.5 lbs. After some lab work, they figured out she had a bladder infection. She has finished her antibiotics. She had been taking thyroid medicine but was afraid her levels were off making her lose weight. I have been giving her thyroid medicine again and will eventually get her levels checked. I have been letting her have a little more food and treats which she loves. I hope she is able to gain the weight back. nylene , the trainer says she would be a good pet therapy dog. She loves attention! I need the weather to cooperate to be able to practice with her more on the heeling. I was hoping to take her out today but it kept thundering/lighting with heavy rains off and on. I feel like she will eventually get it. She sometimes just wants to play! The cases are down at the hospital and have relaxed on the number of visitors allowed at one time. We are still busy and our census staying up. The other night when I worked, 3 patients came back positive. We had to move people around. I am running out of time. I am sitting at the coffee shop and they are about to close. Tomorrow, I have a class for work in the afternoon. The weather is supposed to be cooler. It will be a good day to sit inside. I have a few things to do tonight before bed.

Thanks for sharing you pet pic’s knutschen. Hope the COVID driven stress at work remains down. You and Rudie are lucky to have all that shared time, joyfulnana. Kids DO cherish and remember that time with grandparents. My time with this crew is winding down. Their mom and dad cleared the border with the horses this morning and should be arriving home soon. I will start heading for home tomorrow. Not sure if I will drive all the way or stop at dd’s for the night Tuesday. It will be a couple of months before my next dgk adventure. My ds in BC texted yesterday to say he has booked a return flight for me to go out to Nanaimo and stay with their girls at the end of May while the parents are on vacation. Hockey ended with a bang yesterday with the younger one earning a gold medal in a tournament and the older one being knocked out of playoffs. I thought they would get a break, but apparently baseball tryouts start TOMORROW. they didn’t have school today, and I just let them veg. We did finish a robot costume for the youngest book report presentation. It is pretty flimsy to go to school with him so I think we will just video him wearing it and telling his parents about the book. Ok. Gotta go help them find their ball gear.

justjac, you are really enabling me with that pop up card. What size envelope does it use? So adorable. I can't color like you do, but maybe I could cut some flowers or something. I love the look. I'm glad your DMIL is now closer to home. How is she doing? Hugs to you and all who love her. Linda, what kind of bulbs are you planting? I can't wait for my tulips and irises begin to bloom. I'm tired of dirty snow and brown grass. I hope you are feeling better. You do so much. I'm sorry about the steam cleaning that needs to be done often. You're a better woman than I am! kitbop, I am sorry your dad has taken a turn for the worse. Have they found the source of the bleeding? I'm sorry you are dealing with this along with changes at work. Hugs. I hope he will improve each day. gramma, you must have great googling skills. I tried to find grammadee's DIL's ride and couldn't find it. I found info about the event, but no videos. grammadee, I'm sorry she didn't quite make the cut. I hope you get home safely. I know the boys will be missing you. You are such a great grandmother to help them find costumes, etc. You're the best. Please be careful coming home. joyfulnana, it was fun to talk to you for a few minutes on Sat. I understand how the grands can wear you out. Alex wears me out faster than a whole family of grands! He's just such a busy boy and wants me to be busy with him. And he talks a mile a minute the whole time. I don't know when he breathes! I accuse him of breathing through his ears. knutschen, your kitties and puppies are darling. It's so nice that they each have a special friend to snuggle with. Such sweet photos. I hope things slow down Covid-wise at your hospital. We are still averaging about 500 new cases a day in Utah. We haven't had ANY mandates for over a year and I know people are testing at home and not contacting anyone when they are positive, so the # is probably much higher. Nice to see you! Our DGD and her DH were coming from the south of the county to spend the day with her parents. She had a car in front of her spin out and she barely made it around. Up ahead she came to 3 more cars spinning and one went off the road entirely. They decided they would exit the freeway and take surface roads into town. She looked in her rear view mirror and the first spinning car was hit head one by a car that couldn't stop. We have only had a little snow, but it's very cold and the bridges/overpasses tend to be very slick. They decided to wait until later in the day to go back down to school in the southern part of the state. I have been making cards, but I need to get my scrapbooking mojo going again. I have lots of challenges I want to do and lots of photos to scrap. Have a great day and week, everyone.

Hi Pokeys! - on the sick parent front, justjac, I missed that your MIL was moved to the local hospital. I'm sure that is a far more comfortable arrangement for everyone in this difficult time. My dad has medically turned around and is healing well from his 3 surgeries. However, he is a difficult patient. He needs a lot of encouragement to "put on his big boy pants" and do some work for himself, not sit and feel sorry for himself while blaming others. He'll be heading to rehab for a couple of weeks to get his strength back. At a different hospital. Yay! - on the mail front, I got a small parcel that I thought was lost (coming from China. last tracking info was January 25). Nice to see those items! One thing is triangle dies with stitching around the interior...going to be used on a 28-4-28 project - on the scrappy front, I have been poking along. I wish it didn't take me so long to finish a layout, but my *minimum* is 4 hours. I got 1.5 layouts done in the online crops this weekend. Go me. - on the pet front, knutschen, your pets are adorable, especially Zoe and Phoebe! We have a pug in our life, my doggy niece. She is so. so. unfortunately. stupid. She hasn't been trained/is so stupid she can't figure out training, and could never be a therapy dog. But she is loving! My dog went lame this week - first her back leg acted up on her so she hopped around on 3 legs, but then her front paw also flared up on her and she was pretty immobile for a couple of days. She's coming round now. She is prone to these flare ups (and it usually starts when she jumps/falls off the kitchen table where she has snuck up to get at the cat food...) - on the grandkid front, my DD has informed me I'm not getting any Well, she might be right, but she is only 18 and she has 2 older brothers! grammadee, I hope you had a save drive home, and wow, it sounds like you're going to need a week to recover from those boys! - on the safe driving front - wow, nylene, I'm glad your DGD made it safely! We've had SO MANY broken ankles in hospital the past 2 weeks with the ice - it's hovering around 0, so the ground might be water, or might be water on top of ice...
