Oh, kitbop, I am so sorry for the loss you are suffering. I agree with others that you have no reason to feel guilt. You have bent over backwards to be a help to him and deep in his heart I'm sure he appreciated it. Hugs as you move through all the paperwork and arrangements. I wish I could give you a big hug. Know we are here if you need to unload! We all love you.

Going to dh's sister's for supper tonight. I made a blueberry cheesecake to take. Hope to drop in to the virtual crop before we have to leave.
I realize all my plans may change if one of my free spirit brothers (who live a couple of hours' drive away) decides to show up here this afternoon, although I wouldn't expect them as early as the crop starts. They are both country musicians and like to participate in "jamborees" which are kind of open mic country music events. There is one that starts at 1:00PM in our home town, and one or both of them may decide to drive down to take part. If that is the case, they might call me to ask if they can stay the night, or they may show up after the event to stay, or for a quick coffee and chat, or just drive back home at the end of it.
I spent some time this morning to make some beds and do some cleaning upstairs, just in case. Planning to do a quick clean of the kitchen after lunch.
Have a good Saturday, Pokeys.

We spent most of Sunday with family celebrating DH's, DGS's, and DGGS's birthdays. It seems impossible that Eddie is one! Monday we took the train to SLC to pick up DH's new ipad and have the info transferred from his old one (which was too old to update for banking). We had dinner at Johnny Rocket's 50's diner and came back home on the train. Yesterday was a "run errands" day and it slipped away from me. So...it's nice to be back with the Peas today. I have a couple of layouts to finish and post sometime today. kitbop, how are things going with making arrangements? My heart is with you! grammadee, that frame you made is so cute. Your friends will love, love, love it. You are so thoughtful. I hope you all had a nice weekend and are finding a bit of time to be crafty. I'm behind on comments, but hope to get caught up today. Happy Wednesday, everyone!

((((Hugs)))) kitbopgrammadee - how did your weekend go? nylene - wow - Eddie's first year just flew by! Sounds like you've had a busy few days Monday was a cleaning day here and Tuesday I worked on scanning photos. Today I'm scrapping (and making a menu as tonight is shopping night).

That sounds like a wonderful Monday, nylene, turning an errand into a whole adventure. I hope you snapped some photos! And how can Eddie be a year old? Time goes quickly when you are not dealing with diapers... My weekend was pretty tame, Linda. We had supper with dsil's family and then dh went home and I stayed to play Canasta. My brothers did not arrive. Probably because I was more or less prepared for them LOL. Continuing to think of you, kitbop. Hoping you are looking after yourself as you deal with all that comes with the loss of your dad. Really hoping that ugly Covid does not sneak back in while you are stressed. And how wonderful that your dd seems to have found such a nice young man. Glad the evening went well. I think sometimes our kids save their best manners for OTHER people's parents, but ya gotta love young people who take the time to appreciate what you have done and actually say so. Today I am packing my stuff for the crop. Looking forward to my play date with justjac. Have been sorting out, for days, paper collections and other items I want to use, based on my list of photos already printed and those I want to print on Friday. I now have that put in totes, ready to {literally} roll. Photos are tucked in as well. On now to the tools and inks and brushes and stickers and... I know this task being so big is of my own making. I could just as easily just grab my photos and a few tools and head out. There will be a store on site where I could purchase whatever I needed, one LO at a time. And it is not like I won't be buying stuff there, anyway. But this has become my process for crops, and it must work for me or I wouldn't continue to do it, and the time I am spending sorting and handling things is giving me time to envision what I will be doing once I am there.

thanks for your continued thoughts pokeys. My brain feels quite staticky. grammadee - it is SO hard to pick what to take because you never quite know what you might be in the mood to scrap! I remember struggling with taking scraps. I'm a keeper and a user of scraps because I don't like cutting into new pieces of CS/PP if I only need a bit. But scraps take too much space to pack. nylene - that sounds like a fun day - I like doing "easy" chores with DH and enjoying a meal out, and the train sounds like a relaxing way to go! I can't believe Eddie is 1. It is so nice you could be with multiple generations to celebrate those birthdays!

LOL, grammadee . Who knew you had a stowaway! We have had them before. One time an old cat not only decided to take a nap in dh's truck, but somehow managed to push down the button that locked all the doors. It was in the "olden days" when you could lock your vehicle with the keys in it, and we had to spend quite a bit of scrambling to find his second set of keys to let the old guy out. And he looked at us like "What?" Another cat hitched a ride with ds's furniture in our van when he was moving to college. We didn't discover SHE was in there until we made a stop to drop off a different son's golf clubs where he rented a mobile home on an acreage. So thankful that the acreage owners let us park the cat in one of his sheds until we were done delivering the furniture.

Hey Pokeys. So I was on holidays last week. I left for my mom's on Good Friday and stayed until Wednesday. Dean had to work so he stayed home. I crafted with friends a couple of evenings while there. We decided to make a mini book together, so I picked up 3 kits at the LSS. My sister didn't join us either because her co-worker got COVID. Thankfully Cara didn't get it, but she didn't want to risk visiting us while it was still possible she could be positive. Once I got home I had a hair appointment, a nail appointment, and an eye exam all on the same day. I was supposed to use my last couple days of holidays to clean the house and pack up for the crop with grammadee, but I didn't. So I've been trying to fit things in before work and after work (around the read through for the play I got a part in and my book club.) Sigh. Procrastination is not my friend this week. I have no idea what I'm going to work on. Plus, our local hospital is short of beds, so they transferred my MIL to a hospital 50 km away. She's now on a wait list to get into long term care in our city, so hopefully that doesn't take long.

That is such frustrating news about Irene, justjac . Is there any way Dean's dad could be dropped off to visit with her during the day while the rest of you are at work? I hope she can be moved back to Lloyd quickly. As I posted above, I have packed the stuff I plan to bring into the vehicle today. Of course, I still have a couple of extra empty bags in the house for the inevitable "Oh yeah, I need to bring THAT" before I leave tomorrow. And those bags will come in handy when I hit the LSS and M's before I head to the venue. I have a set of sorted photos I want to scrap, and a bunch on my phone I need to print tomorrow, plus printouts of Shimelle's classes and Sketchy Saturday sketches. So as usual, I have planned for not having a plan
And justjac I am bringing my SB foiling system, so if you want to play with that all weekend that would work, too.

justjac, I am so sorry about their moving your MIL. I hope she can get moved back to your city soon. This has been a long ordeal for her and her family. Hugs! I love all your journal pages. I find myself giggling at some of the fun sentiments. Love what you are doing. Also love that mini book you posted in the gallery. grammadee and justjac, I wish we could all wiggle our noses and transport ourselves to your crop with you. I know you will have a great time together. I can't wait to see what you learn and do. Sending hugs and prayers to you, kitbop, and your family. I hope things go smoothly for you. It seems that there is so much paperwork. Is everyone at your home well? I hope the Covid doesn't creep back in. Linda, I see you have been doing a lot of work getting things scanned. I hope you are counting those hours!! Today DS picked us up for lunch and we spent 2 hours visiting at 5 Guys. We haven't seen him since just before Christmas. He is always so busy. He is building a couple of over 20,000 sq ft homes and has 3 more waiting to start when those are finished. I'm grateful that he has work and that people want him to build for them, but I think he's a bit like his Dad and bites off too much at a time! It was a great visit though! I'm hoping to scrap a bit later this evening. I have been working on the 1950 census and have just indexed several families that I know from my hometown. That is always so fun.

Hey kitbop, ya got a title for this one? Driving Miss Kitty Oh shoot, I see it's a boy cat. The obvious, and yet obscure: Toonces, the driving cat (Saturday night live, 1989) TooncesPassenger Pet In the Purr-senger seat justjac - I'm so sorry they've moved your MIL. It's really rough on people to get shifted around too. I hope a permanent bed comes available quickly! What play will you be in? Congrats on the part! nylene - I'm grateful (now) that we've all had covid recently so we don't have to worry about getting sick while we are stressed! This weekend, DH and I are heading to Ottawa for a few days (it's his birthday) to see family - it will be nice to get away!

Happy Thursday! Waving hello, gals! This week has been a recovery week for us after all the conference activities last week. nylene it was on Zoom and the attendance wasn't what Ron hoped. But the students that came got lots of great career info and enjoyed. Shaq's agent was very humble and so inspirational. joyfulnana, my dh works in HR at a construction company. In his spare time, he enjoys hosting career events for college students interested in sports business. We have a new neighbor moving in. It's a hummingbird! I noticed earlier this week, she was setting up her nest right outside of my window on a palm branch. She works, weaves and takes breaks away. So cute! kitbop- HUGS HUGS HUGS❤
