Ack! Really hard day today, call from DS's school and out-of-school suspension. Very trying situation. Many phone calls, two trips to the school (only 5 minutes away). Very sad! I’m sorry. It does sound like a tough day. Thinking of your family. ❤️

So first off teamies . . . the big InterNational Pea Day crop weekend will be May 13-15th. But Q2 team members who participate would earn DOUBLE points for any challenges they meet over the three days & time they spend on crafting and organizing activities, and DOUBLE-DOUBLE for those earned on the Saturday.
I'm not sure IF I will be able to join you as we anticipate traveling to MN to our new teeny tiny cabin on Gull Lake. We will see how the plans shake out!
Today, still dealing with the fall-out with yesterday's events. The school is NOT understanding P's disability, and is punishing him for something his brain is not capable of truly processing. Spent over an hour at the school yesterday, they sent him home against my recommendation. Interviews all the kids except P, then left him for Wednesday morning. We did do medication before they started the interview which kept him from escalating. Good thing the weather was nice today. He says he got his school work done, and his case manager is supposed to keep track of that. This was a decision made 15 months ago, that Mom and Dad were to back off on reminding him about school work. That the modified diploma would take care of that, and it would just be annoying for him to have multiple adults asking him the same thing. I talked to his Intellectual and Development Disabilities Case Manager, our SpEd attorney's office, and his MD twice. Once in the morning for an actual phone appointment, then when I told him about what was going on, he said he would check in at the end of the day, and he did at about 6 pm.
Today I had a 2 hour WebEx appointment for DS with a neuropsychologist. A ton of experience, seems to really care about kids. Will do full testing, then review the records after he tests. He may recommend changes in Pete's IEP and or ISP. He was very supportive. The bonus of having P suspended and at home is he got to meet Dr. Jesse without his mask on and reassure him that he was here to help him. His testing appointment is 4/25. He was also very much NOT in support of the school, "If P has half the diagnoses already listed on his first psych evaluation and listed in his IEP, the with his brain injury (due to Fetal Alcohol Syndrome primarily) he does not have the capacity to comprehend what he is accused of at school. He is not capable of avoiding impulsive poor decisions."
Thankfully I had a shiatsu massage scheduled for the this afternoon, so helpful. Must get to supper. Thank you for the support ladies!

What a day! These past few days I'd been having flashes in my peripheral vision. My husband had the same thing and it was just aging, so I tried not to worry. Then while I was teaching Sunday School I got a giant "floater". Dr. Google said it could be a detached retina. I was so lucky to get ahold of the on call doctor of my eye doctor's office. She met me at the office and did a thorough look. What a relief! Nothing torn or separated! Just the fluid in the eye aging, just like the husband. The Dr. was so sweet. I depend on my vision for all my scrapbooking and cardmaking, so I was especially relieved.
I cannot find my enthusiasm for my Project Life album. I usually order the month's photos on the 31st of that month or soon after. I haven't ordered the ones for March yet and March is ONE PAGE. Four 4x6 slots, four 3x4 slots. I'm just not taking many pictures or writing down ideas from the day or saving little things from daily life to put in. It's kind of weird because we are going many more places than two months ago. I'll do my one page for March and then sit and think about what I want to do.

I've had that in my left eye, and am waiting for the other eye to do the same. Yes it is very scary! Flashes and floaters. So glad you got in to see someone ASAP, as I did. It's a big relief to know that the vision is not seriously impaired!

angel97701 - ((((Hugs))) and prayers - I hope things get easier for DS and the school jjpeapea - (((Hugs))) I'm glad it was no big deal but I'm also super glad that you had it checked out to be sure. I haven't been scrapping but I am earning points as I work on identifing, labelling, and organising photos. So far this week I've tackled 1984-1987 and am working on 1988 (both in my files and my mum's) - weeding out duplicates as I go. Since the combined files go back to 1890...I've a ways to still, lol.

jjpeapea, I am so grateful that your flashes were not something more serious. My DH has macular degeneration and he started with flashes before loss of sight. I'm glad you didn't wait to have it examined. DH has been treated with eye injections in each eye monthly for over 16 years. It has been nice that they could preserve some of his sight. His mother went blind soon after being diagnosed because there was no treatment. Take good care of those eyes! angel97701, I am sorry you are dealing with some tough stuff at school. It sounds like you have the medical people behind you to help work through the school's issues. Hang in there. You are doing all the right things getting experts involved. I just can't seem to get going this month. I got my 2nd Covid booster and it has left me with such fatigue. Maybe that's why I can't get going. I have a couple of pages started and have photos laid out to do more, but my energy is gone. Maybe in a few days I'll get more gumption. I hope no one is counting on me for lots of points this quarter. LOL

Question for the day: Do you like to scrap photos during the season? For example, if it is spring, do you like to scrap spring photos, even from years past? I know that I have that tendency. AND I have plenty of past years photos to scrap!
Hello everyone! How are yo on this fine Wednesday morning? We have a sprinkling of snow here . . . yes, April Snow brings? At least it will increase our snow pack and the water outlook for the summer as it is dumping on the mountains. I've been doing the kitchen organizing thing, as it takes a few minutes to do one drawer here and there. In the last week I've spent well over 14 hours on letters, meetings, and making our home more safe for DS. It is always a challenge. We are never one step ahead, but one behind.
It's really hard to get my creative mojo on when my mind is stressed about dealing with FASD spectrum. At least I've gotten some more contacts, and do have some way forward. School is finally realizing the severity of his behavioral issues in relation to addiction to vape. I will be asking for another IEP when we get the results from the new Neuropsychologist. One step at a time.
I did get my ink refills organized and back in their drawer with foam board dividers. The lightweight cardboard wasn't working well. Much more pleased. Next, attack the various piles of paper as per the organization challenge. Then maybe mojo will show up again?

angel97701 - sometimes but right now I'm working on January 2020 photos so not seasonal as it's definitely spring here and thinking super hard about summer already unfortunately (in the 80s already) I took a scrappy day today - started laundry, did dishes, caught up on email, then settled in at the scrapbook desk. Hoping to get January 2020 finished up today - it's pretty close I think. I do have to go grocery shopping tonight but DD15 is cooking. ((((Hugs))) I hope your mojo returns - it has to be hard with all the stress

AND I have plenty of past years photos to scrap! I am usually not scrapping photos during the season. If I'm scrapping current photos, I'm usually at 3 months behind and I really just scrap what moves me. Which hasn't been much so far this quarter lol. I'm hosting a crop tomorrow evening so I will have to at least start something lol Hopefully it will get my mojo going again.

I never seem to get the photos printed in time to scrap during that season. I just scrap what grabs my attention. I have lots of photos and scrap whatever I want, regardless of when the photo was taken. I never try to scrap chronologically. I know I would put too much pressure on myself and I scrap for relaxation, not pressure. joyfulnana, I plan to hop on the crop tomorrow. I don't know what I will be scrapping, but I'll come up with something. angel97701, do you feel like you are making progress in getting DS better situated at school. I am sending you hugs and prayers as you tiptoe through the red tape! Linda, is your DH's issue Macular too? Steve holds the record at the retina specialist's office for the most injections ever. It makes me shudder to watch, but he tolerates it very well most months. The hardest thing for him is that he is not allowed to lift anything heavy for 24 hours and he often forgets and then gets a bleed that takes 10 days to clear.

nylene - yes, macular - probably diabetes related. I'm grateful I haven't had to watch - he handles it well but I'm praying I never need the shots, shudder

Hoping that everyone had a restful and joyous Easter weekend! I am thankful for a good weekend with dear son, started out rough, but improved! Yesterday I had meetings for almost 3 hours for DS. One with Behavioral Specialist, the second to renew his Independent Support Plan through the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities office. That's an annual thing, and we made some adjustments. Now to just have a Direct Support Professional . . . like we have qualified for a year ago!
Question of the day: What is your favorite go to adhesive for scrapbooking and why?

angel97701 - hopefully you get the Direct Support Professional soon. my go-to adhesive is photo squares - simple and reliable

Hope everyone's weekend was special. Glad you are progressing angel97701. I wish it was easier to get services. It takes a lot of time and determination. For wide areas I like a snail glue - Elmer's permanent tape runner. I'm not sure how "archival" it is. I may end up re-gluing ten years from now - who knows. For tiny thin areas or things like sequins I like Art Glitter Glue with a needle top. It's snowing here. I walked to my new volunteer job with snowflakes swirling all around me. I have three pairs of socks on. *sigh*

jjpeapea, snow again? I am so tired of snow but we still need the water. We may be getting more toward the end of the week. angel97701, I'm glad things have settled down a bit for you and that you are getting some professionals involved. For adhesives, I agree with Linda, I love the photo squares. For small areas or for "hard to hold" items I agree with jjpeapea, Art Glitter Glue with the needle top is THE BEST. I also use foam tape and red tape for various treatments. For many of my cards I use Scotch double sided tape that my DD buys by the case for my birthday and Christmas. She knows what I love! Scrappy Supplies!

Looking forward to some possible crafting time this weekend. I am caught up with business bookkeeping, and only have the lacrosse game scheduled for Saturday. This was a busy week for appointments, and 3 days of work! Weather is still very cool, and FB popped up a photo from a few years back that shows our trees in bloom. They are definitely not that far this year!
DS is little more calm this week, but never know when the next shoe will drop. We are two weeks into his "plan" from school, so I am checking in with those who are supposed to be checking in with him at school. Keeping them accountable, to do what they say they would do. But I have my doubts, which means they probably are not following their own plan. Guess weekly email reminders? Which really shouldn't be necessary, but I am CYA here, if they don't follow their own plan then they can not justifiably suspend him out of school or expel him. Dotting my "i"s and crossing my "t"s, so to speak. He has his neuropsychological evaluation next Monday. I hope his is cooperative. We will see. He is of the mindset they he can do it on his own, by just trying harder. This doesn't work for an FASD spectrum kiddo.
Hope house cleaning doesn't get in the way of crafting this weekend. I need some time in my craft space!

Hey, I'm late to the party! Just posted a few pages from my journal and added up the points. Like Linda says, it's a chore if you don't keep up with it! LOL My youngest DD was pregnant with her second baby, due May 5th. For some reason, the baby stopped growing (placenta?) so they decided to do an early c-section - she was born Thursday, and she is perfect! Very tiny, but perfect. It was a stressful week, waiting and testing, and because they live so far away I could not be there. I am going out in May to visit for two weeks. I can't wait to meet little Lucy Leigh! To answer your questions: my favorite color is orange (all shades), I scrap whatever photos I can find or print, and my favorite adhesive is my ATG gun. Is anyone in our group doing the Crop & Create event next weekend? It's going to be fun!

Wow, has this month just sped by! Have you added your points? How is everyone? MARIBETHR Linda , paget , ComplicatedLady , azcrafty , scrappinwithoutpeas , nylene , AussieMeg , scrappyrabbit , jjpeapea @, joyfulnana , MDscrapaholic , sleepingbooty
It's been a CrAzY month with DS . . . but he has agreed to go to the evaluation on May 9th. His case manager and School Support case manager are both encouraging him to do so. School hasn't been as careful about following through on their OWN safety plan for him since his last suspension.
My mom drove over to Central Oregon yesterday and I spent the night with her at a local World Mark resort. My sis, her DH, and DS will spend 4 days with her. Then she will come visit us on Tuesday, then meet me on Wednesday after I sub in a smaller community that is very touristy . . . . All in about a 30 minute drive triangle sort of thing. She has been doing a lot of time with friends and away from home since my Dad passed, but I believe she is doing well. Her quote "I haven't been alone enough to know if I'm lonely yet".
So we've been checking up on our cabin in MN, and the ice is STILL on the lake! Live Cam view of Gull Lake SOOOOOO, I will be around for the I2PD crop weekend. Remember that all points are doubled for that weekend. There is also a few other things going on next weekend for iNSD, grammdee has a thread started for those interested for some fun with others here. DS has a JV Lacrosse tournament that has 3 games next Saturday, and then a few on Sunday. So I will be busy with that making real time memories.
Check in and let the group know how you are doing! I've not been as crafty as I hoped, but have been making progress on my NSBR organization challenge as a prep to take extras to the cabin.

I've done a lot of traveling this month (all visiting family) and hardly any scrapping, so adding up my points should be quite easy, LOL. I'll update here when I do that.
May will also be pretty busy for me, but at least I'll be at home where I can (hopefully) work on some projects. I just got a picture order AND a box of scrappy supplies from SG that I ordered a while back, so I should be ready to go. Now to just get organized, and finish all the laundry from my trip...
