I haven't been good about keeping up with my comments pts. or my crafting points. I figure if I itemize on my layouts that will be good enough. I'll try to go back and do them, but no promises. I always forget to keep track of my crafting time

When I was a kid, we got out in May. Summer is my favorite season, because I love hanging by a pool or beach and the freedom it felt to not have school. Now that I am a boring adult with a job, summer is definitely less fun lol.
I'm hoping to get housework and scrapping done this long weekend. My husband is swamped with work, so even though we were invited to a few places, I don't think we can go. I'm ok with that, as it gives me some down time and scrappy time!

Well I’ve been MIA during our trip to MN. We are headed home now, about 1/2 with 870 more miles to go! Love it there but had zero time for myself this trip. More later.

I have been terrible about keeping up with this thread and scrapping, and all of it lol. angel97701 I had been wondering if you had made it to the cabin yet, and here you are already on your way home I hope it was everything you were anticipating. Not much happening here at the moment, just wanted to pop in and say Hi!

Well after 11 days of traveling and well over 3,400 miles of driving, I'M BACK! We got back to our home in Oregon at 1 pm on Saturday and I spent the next day & 1/2 doing laundry! Everything from the cabin came back to be washed. The cabin is small, the association is great, the dock is great, it's a really nice lake (Gull Lake) and area. Just a lot of driving for a short stay.
On the way out I drove our Flex with the 16 ft power fishing boat and DS's fishing kayak loaded inside. DH drove our motor home with his 22-foot Flying Dutchman sailboat with all its rigging and a 14-ft SUP board. The Flex was loaded with supplies for the cabin. The kitchen, bedding etc. It was a hard 1,670 mile drive as we needed to stop for ourselves and the dogs. DS rode with me 90% of the time so I didn't have much alone time to make calls as I drove, etc.
The Cabin is smaller than expected as the loft was included in the sq footage. The huge Ikea sleeper sofa takes up way too much room and wasn't comfortable to sit or sleep on. It's going. I found a RV queen sleeper sofa on 40% off sale at Camping World that I bought the day before we left, we moved it in, but only have one section of the Ikea black monster moved out. I'm shopping for a amoire so we have some clothing storage, as there is absolutely NONE in the cabin. Okay storage in the bathroom, the only separate room, and kitchen has enough storage . . . but not counter space. My Ninja fry oven is about an inch too tall to flip up under the microwave shelf, argh!
The storage space we rented is bigger than the cabin and currently holds the power boat, sailboat, and Flex while we are in Oregon. The biggest expense turns out to be the boat lift. We were thinking it would cost about 1/2 of the actual price is for the lift. It's a big lake so you can't just leave your boat tied up to the dock, the water is too rough. DS's fishing kayak is stored up on the bank, locked down.
Literally had no time to myself the entire trip! Either I was unpacking, shopping, cleaning, cooking, cleaning after the tornado warnings, or sleeping. Yes we had tornado warnings, and trees blocking the road both directions out of our association. Power was out for about 24 hours over Memorial Day evening into Tuesday.
Subbing half day today, so a little time to spend on the computer and get caught up. We had a houseguest Sunday night and then 2 last night, so no rest for the wicked. At least I had a nice dinner out last night.
Think of our family today. We have decided it is time for our sweet 14-year-old German Shephard Sable to go across the rainbow bridge. The trip was tough on her, and she wasn't doing super well before we left. It is hard for her to get up on her own, and sometimes she flops down when she doesn't want help up. My DS is ready and can say "She had a good life". Going to be a tough afternoon!

Either I was unpacking, shopping, cleaning, cooking, cleaning after the tornado warnings, or sleeping. And this is why I don't enjoy camping. It's so much work on what is supposed to be a relaxing time. I'm so sorry about your pup Sable angel97701. Sending love and hugs. I finally finished my first red LO from Shimelle's class. I think I've only scrapped three pages this quarter. But that happens. I'm earning points organizing this quarter lol.

Ah another week in June and it is raining here! Like lots of rain! I am headed over the mountain this afternoon to spend time with my Mom. My Dad's memorial service and internement at Willamette National Cemetery will be tomorrow, on what would have been his 96th birthday. There will be a very short service and an honor guard from Fort Lewis.
Missing Sable girl, she was a special dog! Thank you for your love and hugs.
Last week of school, then onward into summer for us finally! Some of the organization items I have purchased for the cabin have arrived. I want to order a sliding door wardrobe, but have it shipped to MN instead of here . . . . Also want to get a nice mattress topper for the queen sleeper, rather than the inflatable. Don't want to feel every move DH makes while we are sleeping!
Question of the week: What are your usual weather conditions for this time of year, and in your area has it been typical? We had a mild winter that lead into a really cool spring, with everything blooming about 4-5 weeks late! The rain today is not typical for Central Oregon for sure! If I wasn't packing up I would definitely be crafting today, as outdoor chores would have been miserable.

prayers angel97701 - I hope the memorial is healing for all of you. typical June weather here is 90 highs and 69 lows with about 10 days of rain and it's been pretty typical here so far.

June is supposed to be nicer here. It can really be a range of anything including rain but this year is basically just rain and gray and people have taken to calling it june-uary. It’s sadly accurate.

Yes, I need to count up the rest of my points too! Ack, we are almost to the end of June and I'm way behind. Organizing, a little card making, and 2 layouts. Not much at all, but memories galore!
Oh and we actually had more summer like weather here today after our Jekylle and Hyde weekend, sun one moment rain the next, wind, what ever!
