Happy Easter to this Crafty Crew!
I'm sure most of us have too much to do today to consider scrapbooking...but maybe you will eke out some "you time"? Hopefully you may have new photos to scrap after today!
I've been on a really bad streak of not taking pictures. Even at my friend's retirement dinner on Thursday, I took ONE photo of the table - not a good one, didn't get up on a chair, and of course, I'm not in it. WHY? Why am I not enthused about taking pictures anymore??? I'm so frustrated with myself...

Happy Easter to this Crafty Crew! Hope everyone is having a good weekend. We had turkey dinner yesterday, so leftovers today. Nice and relaxing. When we are here by ourselves, I don't take many photos. We went to a St Patrick's Day celebration--lots of people in cute Irish costumes--I never snapped a photo. I go through stages like that, kitbop, even with the kids. This weekend I took only one set of photos. Thankfully dd and dsil took some as well. And then one of my ddil's posted some Easter pic's of their kids. I haven't scrapped for a few days, but I printed off some sketches and idea and have been catching up on Shimelle's Scrap the Rainbow class, so hoping to get something onto a page during this upcoming week.

Happy easter everyone. I've been busy painting the outside of the house this weekend, although it started raining last night and hasn't stopped so I have an enforced break. I'd already told my DH that the first day I'm not painting I intend to sit in my scrap space and create, so that's what I'll be doing today.

Looking forward to crafting today. Yesterday ended up being quite busy between dd's college class, work she had to do, speech for ds, school for ds, and errands. So I wasn't able to finish the last 2020 pocket page for dd.
Going to finish that up and then start 2021 for ds I think.

Glad some of us are getting some creative time! Tonight we have DD's new boyfriend over for supper. I really should take a picture...but... it's awkward when we get into these teenage relationship times isn't it? It's not like I can scrapbook it yet. It will be hard to determine when to start including significant others in the scrapbooks!!!

Hoping the "meet the parents" evening goes well, kitbop. You can take a pic and scrap it. Just might have to pull it out of the album later when he becomes "he who shall not be named".
S-L-O-W-L-Y working on the baby gift frame and background. I think the wood letter is ready to be attached to the frame. Then it will need some finishing touches and a coat of Mod Podge. Figured out this morning a way to make the spot for them to slip the baby photo in, and have that portion of the LO put together. Now need to work on clusters... Got lots of depth in the shadowbox frame, so thinking 3-D scenes. Hmmm... Little boy and farm animals...
As far as points, at least I am earning some by the hour LOL!

Gah, points! I've been so busy making things I forgot to add up my points. I'm heading off to do that now so I don't forget.
My house projects have been put on hold as I've hurt my wrist, nothing serious, but I can't apply the pressure needed to use a paint roller, so I spent some time last night creating instead (thankfully scissors don't hurt too badly). I have a couple of light tasks I want to get done today but then I'm hoping to get back to my scrap desk.

Good morning, Crew. I see your pages in the Gallery, kitbop and Chinagirl828. Seriously, Karen, I hope your wrist heals quickly. But I also hope you still have the time and energy to create more pages. I spent the morning sorting things I will be taking to the crop next weekend. Looking for things. Finding some of them. Making lists of the things I still need to locate... Checking to see if I had already scrapped a couple of sets of photos I found. Nope. They go into the pile. Did a bit of pre cutting. Played with some inks and some VB crayons to try to make a rainbow background. Not ecstatic with the background--doesn't look anything like I had envisioned. Will prob take it anyway, but not sure I will use it. Not so good at creating lately. Now shopping; that I can handle ... Last week I contacted Craft Stash to see how I could get my hands on a couple of those sets of cross stitch dies you have, kitbop. They got back to me and gave me a link that took my address, so this morning I ordered the circles and stars . Did it stop me when I realized I don't have enough room to store the dies I DO have? Nope. Denial is my super power . Have a great Sunday, Crew!

I don't mind recommending them as they have been surprisingly usable sets on my pages. I hear you on running out of space. I am at total max capacity for stamps/dies. But I still want to join the card making event in the fall... What makes the allure of new stuff make us forget what wonderful old stuff we have?

There is a part of me that wakes up each day and thinks, bugger, I can't do much except relax again today It will pass soon enough, it flares up when I do too much of something like painting that puts strain on my wrist, it's just frustrating as I had a list of jobs around the house I wanted to get through while I was on annual leave, but I'm back to work tomorrow with half my list not yet done. I'm still working from home and the weather is supposed to be nice this week, so if my wrist is better I might use my lunch breaks to work on some of them. As for today, it will be back to scrapping.

There's not much scrapping going on with me lately. I have 4 layouts to point & post. At least I still haven't shopped so there's a few hundred points for that. kitbop how did meeting the boyfriend go? grammadee I am glad you were able to get the dies you wanted. And how fun to be planning for a crop this weekend!!! I just booked my flights for a retreat in October. One friend has dozens of page kits ready to go at all times and the other one is starting to plan now. Then there's me...maybe I'll start printing pictures or something. Soon.

kitbop how did meeting the boyfriend go? Really nice kid! Well brought up, relaxed, good manners. Not to pick on manners. But when someone thanks you for supper and tells you how good it was, and thanks you for having them over as they leave...well, just good manners right? So many kids don't have these. Some kids just act so sullen, or disassociated from the adults, or try to act older than they are. This kid -none of that. We liked him!

Don't know what I would do if I were flying to a crop, but my modus operendi for these local (1+ hour drive) crops is to pack up everything I might conceivably need into my SUV and lug it there. Takes away the need for planning ahead, but will require a flurry of work--and probably a bit of cussing--in the next few days. But at the crop, I will have OPTIONS .

I used to do the same thing when I drove to crops but at some point, it became too much work to move my all my stuff to and from crops. I started paring down then but still always brought more than enough, way more. Now that I fly, I am forced be realistic about what I can do in 2 1/2 days while hanging out with friends I see once a year.

Now that I fly, I am forced be realistic about what I can do in 2 1/2 days while hanging out with friends I see once a year. Actually, the last time I flew to BC to stay with ds's girls, I knew I would have time to scrap while they were in school, so I checked my largest suitcase on the plane, and it had my GO-bag with tools and adhesive and inks, some printed photos, my camera, and an iris case with papers. I ended up with as many completed pages in that iris case as if I had been at a crop, so I know it CAN be done...

How is the Crew doing?
Haven't done alot creatively here lately. I am reminding myself of the Stattler Brothers' song "Counting Flowers on the Wall". I HAVE been playing solitaire on my computer alot, but not til dawn, and I *think* Microsoft Games give me more than 51 cards...
I HAVE been watching Shimelle's class videos, and a couple more, so will have to count those. And my comments. And time packing up my stuff to haul to the crop this weekend.
Think I need to add up my April points today before my sticky notes get misplaced or lost when I move myself back in after the crop. First, I need to pack my vehicle...

Unlike grammadee I am totally unprepared for our crop that starts tomorrow after work. I love to take one project to work on, and I just don't have anything like that right now. Maybe I should just buy all brand new stuff and work with that? I was going through my camera roll, and I might actually have to put together something like page kits (which I never do) or just work on cards.

Hey Crew! Heading into a weekend, heading into May! DH's birthday is Sunday, and I am away the next few days but will be online and I think I'll take a small box of supplies with me in case I have quiet time. justjac and grammadee - have a blast together! What a nice place to be. With the new month comes a new Donna challenge: May, 2022, theme: Mother, May I? Take this any way you like. Create a page about YOUR mother, or ANY mother. Create a page reflecting on BEING a mother. Make a mother's day card. Ya see where I am going with this.... OR, take this as a question for permission--to yourself or to the scrap gods--to try something new and different, as in "Mother, may I splatter PAINT on this page?" It's worth 10 points/project. AND - when you are tallying points, don't forget that the Donna Challenge also gifts us with 1 point PER PHOTO that we scrap no matter what!

grammadee & justjac - have an amazing time!!! The rest of Ozark dropped today and I printed some pics last night so I hope to knock out a layout then go to bed early. It's hilarious to say knock-out something, I take forever to make a page. Ha!! But I am tired so one episode is my limit, no pausing allowed. kitbop - happy birthday to your DH!

As someone who avoids all things Mothers Day - thank you for having another option for Donna’s challenge! I appreciate it!! I hope everyone enjoys the weekend, whatever your plans!

As someone who avoids all things Mothers Day - thank you for having another option for Donna’s challenge! I appreciate it!! Thank you. I am trying to get more people to participate in the Donna challenge, and I was hoping that adding a technique twist to the theme would help with that. I hope you get to play with something new and share it with us--maybe from the SCT weekend? (BTW I hope you enjoyed it) Eddie-n-Harley had added even more ideas to the theme in the May 12 card challenge, and some of those may work for a page, too. I am home from the crop, exhausted, but happy. Completed over a dozen two-page LO's and a few single pages. Also earned some major points for the team with my $$$ spent at the on site store and the 25+ hours spent crafting with others--and a few more hours spent crafting alone in my room early in the mornings. Hoping everyone had a great weekend and is well rested &/or re-energized for the upcoming week.

Well, no crafting this week, but I finally finished posting my pages from the crop in the Gallery and the sharing thread. And I spend quite a few hours putting away my stuff from the weekend and rearranging my scrap counter. Still have some more to do there, but i can do that in stages, and the counters are both cleared and ready to play on again. Now I will need to start doing some points calculations.
What will you be doing iNSD weekend? Nothing crafty for me. Dd & family are planning on driving down tonight or tomorrow and if this rain quits before Noah shows up maybe we can plant some potatoes while they are here. Then Monday I have a mammogram appointment. No scrapping then, either, but the clinic is about 5 blocks from a LSS, so there may be some $ points: anything I can do for the CREW, ya know...
NEXT weekend will be our own International PEAS Day, with extra prompts, chatting, and double points all weekend, so ya might wanna plan for THAT one!

Happy INSD crew! grammadee , I too will be a good $$ contributor this quarter. I got my box this week that was the Cocoa Vanilla new line, and the Simple Stories Bloom. I bought all of the 49 and market "Sherbet" line including washi. I was putting stuff away yesterday and realized that I am definitely stuffing myself in the back of the deep freeze with the "unknown" meat and freezer burnt garden tomatoes, and staying there for a while! I think if you stacked my pp it would be over 10 feet tall. Chinagirl828 we are just seeing our change in weather towards Spring. The trees are JUST starting to show some green. This week is going to get up to the mid 20s - I love watching the plants explode! It seems late this year. I find it really hard to scrap in my basement when the weather is fine. Dreary weather makes for excellent scrapping! I will NOT be scrapping today, but hopefully will be taking photos to scrap later. Today is dance recital! It's an 8 hour circus of activity. This studio has been part of our lives for 15 year and the last 2 recitals were cancelled with covid. It's a big day: I'm so anxious. First, I haven't been on a stage since I was a teenager and I never enjoyed it. Fake it until you make it, right? Second, DD and I are involved in set up, food, photography, child wrangling, costumes, all the back stage stuff. Parents aren't allowed backstage due to theatre covid restrictions, and there are a lot of 3-4 year olds. Ugh. DH bought a ticket this morning. He wasn't going to come, but he wants to see me dance (UUUUUUGHGHGHGHGHGHGH) plus it's DD's last ever recital. She is doing her solo and about 5 numbers. She wasn't competitive this year (she's a graduate) but was teaching and taking classes for health so the owner made her dust off last year's solo for the show. She's amazing. She does over 22 "fouettes" in a row (those dance turns with the leg flying out to keep you spinning) and says she almost throws up afterwards. OK, TMI, I'm nervous, you can probably read that. And now I have to go make sushi, get hair done, and get makeup on. I'd rather be scrapbooking
